I got this downloaded from the PSN. Even When I had this for PS1, I couldn't get all the gems., especially the colored gems. Thanks! So all I had to do was not die on this level? Here I thought I had to beat the Nitrous bonus round to get it, but to no avail.

Wow this game is horrible; it's hard in most annoying ways possible - shitty controls, one chance events, and shitty angles.  I'm just glad I got off psn and not hard copy otherwise I'd be tempted to destroy the disk.

=  I haven't played this game in years, as i was so young i never cared for the coloured gems, so i was wondering how did you get the green Gem in this level? Was it because you did Nitrous's level?

Doing Nitrous's Bonus Round isn't nessecary but it does exploit a glitch in the game. You must avoid dying in the level to get the gem.

@dessertmonkeyjk Are you sure about that, because I take all the boxes including the Bonus round of this level, but then I fall down by a cliff one time after almost at the end, and when I clear the stage, it goings directing to the map, no green gem. Also I have notice that if you die in the level, some previous boxes appears again, so I think for the gem, you can't die even once. With Crash Bandicoot there is not you only live twice for the diamonds. Jejeje. Thanks.

@keyblademastermatt no its not becuase of the bonus map. The way you get the gem is by destroiyng all crates on the map without dying :)

I didn't hear that hidden "!" box when I jumped up off the crate, what does it do?

It reveals a crate that you can jump on for extra height so you can reach a extra life and a N. Brio icon. (See 1:09 into the video, I took the extra life earlier so it's not there.)

What does the floating head do? I've played Crash 2 and 3, and their are no objects like that (besides the extra life tokens

They take you to a bonus stage like the ones in Crash 2 and 3. Collecting the icons are the only difference and some areas have special items that you will need to unlock secret levels.

Yes. In a matter of fact, you must not die once in order to get any gem in any level. If you do die then you must exit out (Press Start then Select to exit to Map) then go back in. This rule makes this game the most hardest of the Crash Bandicoot series to date.
