hey i installed sims 2 and i followed your instructions when i installed sims 2 university and then sims 2 nightlife, but i'm supposing the expansion packs aren't registering with the game because the lots don't show up when i'm prompted to choose a neighborhood. expansion packs are showing up in my sims 2 folder in a separate folder named "expansion packs" but my icon for sims 2 hasn't changed. any idea how to fix this? thanks.

Help please! At 2:15 you choose the harddrive Macintosh HD and clicked continue. But when I got to the next step it said there was no software to be updated and that there was an Internal Error. I now have to manually pick what software to install.

I have a big problem, and i've had véry long now... All goes ok when I instal, but when I click on Macintosh and than on 'The sims 2' (with the logo of Sims University) my computer says "The computer requires a PowerPC processor running at 500 MHZ or faster. Your computer does not meet the recommended speed processor speed requirement." Is it my computer or am I doing something wrong? I own a Mac OSX version 10.5.8, and i've already installed the Sims 2 pets. The game's an dvd, is this bad?

Iv just installed the sims 2 university for windows xp and im having trouble it loads to a certain bit on the game and when I go to choose the town and click it looks like its loading then freezes and goes back to my screen saver.....monitor screen

I have a problem. I did every thing you said. I Installed it right and it said that it was good and every thing. I go to my sims2 folder and I found the icon. now I have already installed sims2 Seasons and Open for Business. I tried to Install Nightlife, and it said it installed. But when I went to the icon it didn't change. It was still Seasons. I have tried to install it 3 times now and it still wont work! It keeps asking for the old CD. Please Help!!!

When I click on the Sims 2 University expansion installer it appears a window that says "The installation of The Sims 2 (located at /Applications/The Sims 2 . localized) is not valid. When you add an expansion pack does it overwrite the sims 2 or does it take up more memory? Oh and does it take up the same memory as the the sims 2? So if sims 2 needs 500mb or 1gb the university one will need the same? Thanks 5/5

All you have to do is delete it from your hard drive, it takes about 3 seconds.

i was curious, my sims 2 folder is in the macintosh HD section of my computer and when i tried to install university in the Mac HD section also. It showed up as "Sims 2 game folder" . When i clicked on the icon it told me that the original Sims 2 could not be found. I'm very confused to what the problem and any help would be greatly appreciated . You can pm for screenshots or extra information.

This makes me believe you haven't followed the instructions in the videos.

First of all, the game should not be installed into your Mac HD root folder, it should be in Applications. You have to reinstall your main game.

Second, the Expansion packs are not installed by dragging and dropping. Instead they use installers. It is all detailed in the video above. I recommend you watch it again.

I don't really understand what you mean by Disc 2. The expansion should only be one Disc. Put it in the drive and follow the instructions from the tutorial.

i have the sims unleashed for mac but when i try to install it on my macbook it says "cannot locate a match specified by the installer. instalation cannot continue".

The Sims Unleashed is a separate game and is not an expansion for The Sims 2. I'm also pretty sure that Sims Unleashed is unsupported on Intel Macs like your Macbook.
