I used to watch Ready Steady Go in 1965/6 and I remember The Who doing My Generation. It was presented by the beautiful Cathy McGowan, and she heard Strawberry Fields in '66 before its official release, because she said on the show "We think it's the best song L&M have ever written". So there was a buzz about that song even before it came out.

In A Hard Day's Night where George talks about "that posh bird on TV who gets everything wrong", that was a sneaking reference to Cathy.
