I love the original recorded version with Ian Curtis on vocals, but this was excellent. Having Peter Murphy and Trent Reznor collaborating on a project together, just makes good sense. Nice little tribute to Joy Division. Cheers.
Personally I have a love hate relationship with this version. I love the sound, the explosiveness and Peters voice but i dont like how convoluted it sounds, too messy.
Pete Murphy's voice hasn't changed a great deal since Bauhaus' first great single in 1979, 'Bela Lugosi's Dead' [which I got shortly after release, and still plays perfectly]. He still sounds fantastic. Great stuff! Problem is, the majoriety of people are sheep where music is concerned, and haven't the imagination to listen to music that's not anodyne pop pap. I, for one thank the late, very great dj John Peel for opening my ears to the 'good stuff' back in 1976. I'm not afraid of music, no sir!

Not that I don't like Peter Murphy, but except the screams at the end he sucks at singing this.
Trent's version much better IMO, if You haven't seen it - check it out, his voice and singing style fits the song much much better.

The only thing that influences the music published today is cold, hard cash. Cash is today's absolute determinate of popularity.
