Its funny you should mention that.......the smallest version was called the " SHFUF"........the "Short , fat ugly fella"! It was a far cry from the streamlined sexiness of the magnificent 727........damn that was a sexy bitch, with its long narrow fuselage and high back tail wing. I could sleep with that plane!

That last Air India or PIA took almost the whole renway... That runway maybe 13,000 or 15,000 feet.... I love all of these takeoffs.. They were great..

no, it's at a positive rate of climb from the ground that they retract the gear. (it's usually around 1,500 ft they level off a bit so they won't loose to much air speed)
