Sure Judd is a gun as well.. But hodge plays all over the ground.. Judd lives in the centre.. Put Hodge in on the ball weekly then they might as well put his name on the brownlow medal early.. Hes the best kick in the AFL even off his right its just as good! Hes a toughnut!

Because he spends too much time marshalling the defenses at half-back - very difficult for defenders to pick up Brownlow votes (look at Scarlett, supposedly the best full-back of all time and he also only polled two votes). I think he also tends to dish out on the umpires a bit which doesn't exactly make them feel like throwing him votes...
