  • Axis of Evil Comedy Tour needs to come back!!!!

  • I hope a future act will combine Jewish and Arab comedians; Too many politician have been working for too many years to educate us that the "other" is a dangerous and hateful being. If anyone believes in god, he sees it as a father of all beings; A father would never want a brother to fight a brother; If there is a god - his way is love and acceptance, not hateful lies. Shalom and Salam

  • Sheikh Zubair = Shakespear hahahahahaha nice one xD

  • @johnnydoeist people like you are why the world is so fucked up.

  • @UBB5600 people like is the reason racism exists. you don't ever see things from the other person's point of view.. another selfish thinker

  • @johnnydoeist errr over totalitarian islam that wants to steal our lands convert us to islam or kill us in the process?? i think ill choose the lesser of 2 evils

  • @dave00dance not as evil as the racist totalitarian christians who have been murdering Muslims since the crusades and want to wipe them out just because of their religion

  • @johnnydoeist modern christians have evolved since those times its a religion of peace islams war is with western governments dont confuse the two

  • @dave00dance refusal of palestinian state and killing palestinians en masse is proof enough that christians are evil and want to keep everyone down, steal the muslims' homelands at will and deny them their rights at any time

  • @johnnydoeist

excuse me , who stole other's land ??

who are you trying to fool ?

have you forgotten that islam started in saoudi arabia among the desert tribes & invaded the middle eastern first follwers of jesus countries( lebanon syria and israel ) and who paid 100s of 1000s of martyrs killed by islamic conquests ??

come on !! islam grew on a killing base, the qoran itself, includes 120 verses preaching slaughtering infidels (non muslims) till islam reign supreme

    sir ,google history of islam

  • @caro2486 white skinned liar! the land always belong to Palestinians regardless of Islam or any other religion. It was Palestinian land. doesn't matter whichever religion. only a white racist would assume religion with ethnicity. you are white skinned and a racist.

  • @johnnydoeist

    who's racist lool

it's you who is racist and fanatic because :

1- historically going back to historians to torat and bible it's never called land of palestinians , even jesus used to preach calling people of Israel as an israeli himself

2-Lebanon = phoenicia that main and oldest cities in history were sydon- tyr - beritys - akkai - chakkai - botrys and sarapeta

palestinians are the jordanians go to history and google history of palestine or israel that will answer your lies

  • @caro2486 u r the new hitler. ur mentality is so sick. u think the world began with jesus only. guess wat? there were people and civilizations before jesus. jesus is a tiny tiny insignificant part of human history.

torat and bible speak about "Driving the philistines out of their land". these are racist books written by men.

torat and bible were changed by men to suit their own evil purposes. they are not true books. even today scholars have found thousands 1000s of things wrong in the bible

  • @johnnydoeist

well it's obvious who's sick around here lol

i haven't insulted you but anyway

if you are a muslim i guess you should beleive that humanity started with adam and eve with in old and new testament as divine books ,history and other prophets who mentioned the coming of the messiah ( Jesus)

none of the prophets mentioned palestine , Jesus never called his country palestine (Gospels (Mt 10:5-6; 15:24)israel is mentioned in the New Testament 70 times, and in the Koran 52 times

  • @caro2486 all those books mentioned Israel as in Children of Israel, not a nation of Israel. also Israel had 12 tribes not only Jews which are only one 1 of the tribes!

what a racist liar! must be white skin! the bible clearly mentions to be racist against philistines. now they call them palestinians. same thing! and yet u say none of the prophets mentioned palestine. dats cuz they called them philistine. as in Falasteen. thats why u dont find signs of palestine coz its written philistine.

  • @johnnydoeist

i wonder whay do you always treat me of racist WHITE ?

have i ever mentioned anything related to race and colors ??

are you AFRICAN , i suspect your wierdreactions and i suspect the -->( dats ) that u use it's pure african

anyway i needed to make clear , SYRIA and LEBANON are independant countries and lebanon is not a syrian state loool

2- only christians own lebanon , islam is NOT hte owner of our land , INDEED ISLAM IS AN INTUDER in our country and in our culture

  • @caro2486 THEY all converted to Islam on their own free will becoz they recognized that Islam was teaching the original teachings of jesus and moses which the west changed.

they should not have to give up their land just bcoz they changed their religion out of their own free will.

lands belong to people not religions. so if one man or one billion people convert to Islam, the land still belongs to them. they should not have to leave simply becoz they converted out of their own wishes.

  • @caro2486 you are 100% wrong here. New Testament is a fake. Christian scholars have found 200 mistakes in the Bible. The Israel that NT n Koran are talking about is the tribe of a man called Israel, jews were only 1 of the 12 tribes. but thru the media, jews changed ur mentality to say Israel think Jew. Jews, tribe of Judah were only one of the 12 tribes. dats why Koran n NT say Tribe of Israel, not tribe of Yehud (hebrew for jew). this is not a lie, this is historical fact. its even online

  • @johnnydoeist Today a Muslim is at peace . Today an Islamist will kill any who do not submit . Today Islamists will turn on each other . Today Islam is a hell on Earth . The Bible is God intervening on man's inhumanity to man . Soon the corupt leadership will not be able to hide from his wrath . Prepare yourself . Peace.

  • @inabluemoon1 the bible is a changed book. every christian child knows that. if you keep on trumpeting bible bible with that much ignorance then you are no better than a medieval church selling pardons for money.

  • @johnnydoeist today you lie

  • @inabluemoon1 i am not lying. bible is a book of incest. read second page of genesis

  • @johnnydoeist I am sorry that is what you get out of it and not its deeper meaning . God intervening in mans inhumanity to man. The corupt media is about sond bites dumming down with popular thought and it seems you are slavish to it. Prepare yourself . THE devil is moving in men in every corner of the world , many are defiant of God She thinks she will win but Gods wrath is greater than hers . Prepare yourself.

  • @inabluemoon1 u r a racist moron. the world is bigger than ur country. u know nothing about this world n the large masses who live in it.

  • @johnnydoeist Typical of you to call someone you do not know a racist moron .Simplistic in your argument . A Muslim is at peace . An Islamist is a Racist , Mysoginist that believes in a bloody justice . Its not your fault. Your leaders make life so hard . Pacifying you to hate people you do not know .I know that you want to come here .One has to be very careful to even visit Islam .

  • @johnnydoeist

once again history shows that our country was christian 600 years v4 islam tried to invade us

so the truth is that muslims are the invadors

and muslims are the vielest creatures on earth

i can send you numbers of how many christians were killed by muslims and you won't beleive numbers

anyway they are taught in quoran to slaughter infidels ( non beleivers ) and chop off their hands and fingers if they refuse to beleive in islam

  • @caro2486 that is EXACTLY what a racist would say. nowhere in Quran it says to slaughter infidels and chop off their hands. becoz Quran doesnt say that. that is propaganda. that is how i can see you are a racist.

Bible says to slaughter philistines and rape all non israeli women. even tells people to commit incest that is what Bible teaches.

  • @johnnydoeist

    i am christian

tell it to yourself, all muslims are fanatic

    here's the proof

here are some verses from quoran that countersay what you say:

-Quran (4:76) - "Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…"

-Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"

    - Quran (9:123) - "O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness."

  • @caro2486 i already know u r christian. that is why u are denying all the horror verses in the Bible. incest. rape. war. racism against palestinians (bible calls them philistines same thing. it is still racism).

also the spread of christianity thru the sword.

if u weren't from such a racist religion u wud not have denied the horrible things in the bible.

also u r taking Quran verses out of context. Next verse says "if they make peace with you, then make peace with them".

    christian liar!

  • @johnnydoeist

    please

    stop lying

are u mixing islam with christianity ??? because all what goes in islam you accuse christians of it :!!

Jesus didn't ask us to kill unbeleivers,on the contrary he asked us to love those who hate.us do you call this spreading christianity by sword??

are the videos of the muslim priest LYING TOO?

who is burning & destroying churches in Egypt?have you ever heard of christians burning mosques??

  • @caro2486 again with the christian lies. i m starting to think ur religion teaches u to lie constantly . Islam itself says it confirms the message of Jesus and Moses that came before Muhammad. Islam only corrects what other people changed in christianity for their own evil purposes.

the church changed the teaching of Jesus for their own evil purposes. the church does not preach true christianity. Islam teaches the same things as Jesus did. the church put christians on the wrong path.

  • @caro2486 Yes, I have heard of Christians burning mosques, breaking windows, throwing a pigs head in to the Mosque's courtyard during Friday congregational prayers and much more - whats your point? There are retards in every religion, stop singling out Islam.

  • @SH7861WeezyBabyy

LIAR ( as your muhammad teach you in quoran to lie )

I DEFY YOU TO SHOW ME ONE ACCIDENT OF CHRISTIANS BURNING MOSQUES AND THROWING PIG'S HEAD IN MOSQUE'S COURTYARD

    LIAR LIAR LIAR LIAR

retards are in your islam only

  • @caro2486 You sound like a 12 year old. It happened in Nashville.

  • @johnnydoeist

    - Quran (25:52) - "Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness..." -Quran (61:4) - "Surely Allah loves those who fight " indeed! This is followed by (61:9): "He it is who has sent His Messenger (Mohammed) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam) to make it victorious over all religions even though the infidels may resist.

  • @johnnydoeist

you say that islam is a religion of peace?

    from hadith :

-Muslim (1:33) - the Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah

-Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 327: - “Allah said, ‘A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.’”

  • @caro2486 Allah is arabic for God. so what Muhammad was saying (in arabic) ....testify there is no god but (ONE TRUE) GOD.

unlike dirty Bible that contains 8 cases of incest (look at Genesis). also christianity is racist, bible says to kill n rape philistines (palestinians) 1 Samuel 17, Judges, John everywhere. therefore christianity is a racist religion. it also says Jesus was disrespectful to his own mother "Woman! what have i unto thee?". christianity teaches disrespect towards parents.

  • @caro2486 Yeah, please go read the verses preceding that verse and the ones after it, so you understand it in context.

Muslims can only fight others if they are being attacked first - in SELF-DEFENCE.

Do you think self-defence is wrong?

  • Comment removed

  • @johnnydoeist

The Canaanites(the lebanese phoenicians)lived in Lebanon for 1000s of years b4 the arrival of Arabs, and Lebanon was touched by Christianity some 600 years b4 being touched by Arabs & Islam.

it's MUSLIMS who TRIED TO STEEL our lands

and lebanese christians paid martyrs since ottomans, mameluks till late 30 years palestianian and syrian muslim massacres.not a coincidence:12 million lebanese christians left to look for peace

1.5/3.5 millions still in lebanon to defend their lands

  • @caro2486 they all converted to Muslims by their own free will. Why should a person leave his land just becoz he changes his religion? it is their land, they could choose whatever religion they want. that was their wish. but the ownership of the land belongs to that PERSON not that religion. u have to be incredibly stupid to think lands belong to religions not people.

Muslims never stole any land, the people converted to Islam and remained owners of their own lands. thats how it happened.

  • @johnnydoeist

no sorry , islam spreaded by conquests ,and 300 years after Mohammad 's death, conquered syria ,jordan and cared less about lebanon because muslims are used to live in deserts and lebanese mountains wasn't of a good interest to them

but they forced people to chose either they convert to islam or they have to pay huge taxes and deprived of many of their rights or they have to leave their lands or got slaughtered , arabic language was forced to be spoken.

  • @caro2486 u r a liar. islam spread by arab traders. biggest evidence is that all the Muslim lands are along the Silk Routes which were used by the traders. that is why no Muslim land is outside the ancient trading Silk Route. all became Muslims thru traders.

Christianity was spread by the sword. Charlemagne slaughtered thousand of non-christians and forced them to convert or die. that is how Christianity was spread.

  • @johnnydoeist

    lol

my God , are you normal ??

who are you trying to fool

can u give me the proof of your presumption?

i should have known that i am arguing with A FANATC MUSLIM,everything for you is allowed

even quoran gave you the right to LIE in 3 cases! what a divine religion!

who would beleive that God would ask his people to lie when needed,or kill non-muslims,does God need weak people to execute his punishment?and what's the need of the hell and the punishment if human muslims can

  • @johnnydoeist

you say people converted to islam and stayed in their own lands ?

aren't you countersaying what you have said earlier in another comment??

isn't you who said ,--> (these lands belong to muslims palestinian and christians are evil and want to steal the muslims' homelands at will and deny them their rights at any time) ????

    please be honest to urself

  • cince when did TED become comedy central

  • wowwww the audiences sucks :D

  • is video is great and makes me laugh... but I have to say it... that guy is handsome!

It's really poignant when he shows the prince of persia poster and how the main role is not played by a person who is Iranian.

  • wow Amazing love it

  • hes so fukin english

  • He looks like George Clooney AND Jake Gyllenhaal. Lol! And he sounds so sexy when he said in the French accent. :)

  • Why are you dissing belly dance??? Though it does often get misrepresented in the West, the Middle East has such a rich tradition of music and dances. Not only belly dance, but so many beautiful folkloric dances. Show a bit of respect for the arts!

  • This sucks, you can never take edgy material to the middle east unless its underground.

  • @hamzooz not true my friend :) check out my YouTube Channel if you want to see how edgy it can get :) I'm Nemr Abou Nassar who Jamil referred to in the video :)

  • Its sad how ultimately they want to keep people programmed and not challenge their beliefs. I guess that is why us arabs will always be behind. Dumbass, politics and religion are the cause of all the trouble their, how can they look themselves in the mirror.. easily i guess

  • love my country q8 , kuwait :)

  • I think people judge comedy by the accent and by its ruthlessness. This guy is too tame and queer for western audiences.

  • There is an awful lot to overcome in this argument, and that is on the side of the West, as well as the Middle East. The truth is that we are both more diverse cultures by far than most people on the other side understands and yet that is generally not true of thinking people. Our cultures, as diverse as they can be, are often unfortunately so intolerant - even afraid of each other or the extreme views some take, that we fail to understand our similarities or mutual needs and interests.

  • Is this bad comedy or a bad lecture... or both?

  • @bajholster It is a presentation

  • @bajholster The man talking is a producer/director for a media company. He tried to make his presentation humorous, but this is not a stand up show. His audience is other media outlets and he is making a case to them to present Middle-Eastern content in a positive light.

  • This guy's pretty funny!

  • WORLD PEACE!!!!!!

  • 6:05 hahaahahahaha XD min jeeeeeeed

  • i guess you can say this bombed

  • is it me or the interviewer looks like goreg clony

  • That was excellent, simply delightful, i never use words like these when talking about comedy, but hey! :P

  • @ForgotMyName3 So we agree that a state should not say anything about peoples personal belief and that religion shouldnt influence the state. Good.

I m not dividing arab vs western. I d divide reigious vs atheist. And it seems that religious states worldwide are either doing worse or equal but not better. I have yet to hear just one positive aspect vs all the negative of religion.

Now why a word that everyone uses isnt allowed in movies doesnt make sense to me.

  • @ForgotMyName3 Is it polite to kill people for believing in a different religion?

Is it polite to enforce a belief as a state belief. is it polite to grab power with ridiculous claims of invisible magic men?

Is it polite to turn the once scientifically leading region into a backward theocracy with the lowest global GDP? Do you know where they d be without oil thanks to islam?

As long as you do all these dont play the offended card when someone politely disagrees with your worldview.

  • it has to be understood that an islamic injuction like dressing up modestly is considered divine by a lot of muslims (Women included) and everyone their is modeled to think that way except those who watch/read a lot from west. It is only wests own idea that women who cover are oppressed, most ppl their arent conditioned to think or behave as ppl here think is the way to be, and thus they dont feel as victims as one would imagine them to be not livin with them n just reading wat press says

    peace

  • only good islamic fundamentalist is a dead islamic fundamentalist

  • He looks like George Clooney

  • @roidroid oh nevermind i'm only the 8th person to point this out.

  • comedy without offense is no comedy at all.

  • 5:23 Three Guys & WonHo(1 Ho) :D

  • He sucks!

  • He looks like George Clooney

  • @Skedooosh haahah i was just about to say that lol

  • @Skedooosh

    yet he's an arab ?

  • no amount of comedy or good PR can hide what going on in Persian golf, from complete restriction on woman right to execution of gays on town square.

  • All peoples of the world should be respected, but not all it's religions. While I find most religions equally ridiculous, I don't find them equally benign. Islam Is the most dangerously intolerant and most fundamentally violent. the world NEEDS to educate itself to the facts of it's doctrine. To be a 'moderate' in Islam contradicts its doctrine, No wiggly room here like Buddhism or Judaism, in that it DOESN'T adapt to or tolerate other cultures and has NO respect for them. Say NO to Sharia law.

  • Comment removed

  • @ahimsa1999 "Sharia Law" is a hard sell in most of the world; few would have trouble saying "no" to it. Islamists have delusions of ruling the world but they can't even govern themselves.

  • Don't really appreciate your negative comments on the former President of the United States of America.

  • he looks a little like Jake Gyllenhaal

  • @asimplerman

I first thought about George Clooney, but yeah.

  • successful family friendly western sitcom humour with no religion, sex, or politics!

just my favourite kind of comedy!

    stupid

  • @octemberfury

So you hate 90% of Carlin's work? you are bored 80% during Leary's show? Foxworthy you hate?

If that's the case.. that is stupid.

  • @dominice112 ummmm, george carlin and denis leary did mostly stand up and not sitcoms.... isn't most of carlin's work focused on religion and politics?

did you.... did you not pick up on my sarcasm?

i realise this is the internet and all, and that it's hard to pick up on these nuances sometimes, but i thought that it would have been fairly obvious

  • @octemberfury

I know how focused you are on the point you are trying to make.. but is it really that hard to miss what I am saying?

Most of George Carlin his work aimed at people, like you and me. Take the bit that made him a legend and criminal at the same time; I'm referring to "The seven words you can't say on TV". That said, the main subject that returned in all his shows are what we have in common.

I ignored the sitcom remark as I don't see how this is relevant to what Jamil told us.

  • @dominice112 George Carlin is a really poor example of the sort of comedian this guy is trying to promote. I think when you consider the restrictions that Jamil wants to place on comedy in the Middle East (which may possibly be the right thing to do, I don't know), 90% of what Carlin does would be unacceptable under those restrictions. I do not see how Carlin or Leary's work falls under the description in my first comment, and I would say it is quite the opposite in most cases.

  • @dominice112

The sitcom remark does apply. It refers to the part where he said they drew their inspiration from successful family friendly western sitcoms.

  • @octemberfury If you have a passion, whatever it is - your country, your music, your wife, your family - it is insulting when others show contempt for it. You become defensive, protective. You may even become extreme.

There is no denying that Islam was under attack long before 9/11 and still is, both physically and psychologically, and to expect Muslims to accept mockery from their own is a step too far. If people can't see that it shows a failure of humanity.

  • @diversityrulesok Did you misquote or something? I'm guessing that comment wasn't aimed at me, seeing as how none of what you said has anything to do with what I said.

  • @octemberfury No, just trying to show why it is not necessarily "stupid" (your word) to keep Islam out of comedy at least for now.

    Sorry I wasn't clear.

  • @diversityrulesok Well, I suppose if you keep religion out of comedy, you keep Islam out of comedy, so now I see how your comment applies.

But what if the first step is to not become defensive or protective at all?

Why can't you be passionate about something and accept mockery at the same time? I am mocked for my greatest passions every day. I am applauded as well, but I can accept both.

Why can't it be accepted as criticism instead of mockery? What makes my beliefs correct?

  • So Jamil Abu-Wardeh thinks the Middle East is great and has a great sense of humor but only if you follow rules. I call Bullshit! You can't have rules for Comedy! Comedy is an art form as much as painting, sculpting, or writing. If you impose rules and regulations on an art form you get bland horrible drivel that is a shadow of what real comedy should be. If the Middle East can't learn to laugh at themselves I say fuck em.

  • @cjcrashoveride

Comedy is art, agreed, it is the art of holding an mirror up and taking a good look at yourself. That can all be done in a very confronting way without touching sex, religion or politics (see what I did there?).

However, the illusion that comedy in the US is without regulation is silly.

    Remember FOX?

Just because he took on the challenge to not only change but create one of the biggest hits in the middle east without those three subjects.. that's something you should applaud.

  • @dominice112 You're saying you can look at yourself or society without touching on sex, religion, or politics? Are you crazy? These things are vital parts of not only our society but our identities.

I would also argue that FOX and other networks are not places for comedians but are places for comedy writers. There is a big difference. Go to a comedy club or a stand up show and see how much is censored there.

As for applauding his success I disagree. I do not applaud censorship.

  • @cjcrashoveride Sex is our identity? Religion, OK, politics, fine, but sex? Don't animals do sex?

  • @diversityrulesok of all these 3 things sex is the one thing that is most driving in our society. there are people who argue to be able to explain ANY human action by using sex and the will to stay alive or rather reproduction and survival. you could argue even culture was based on the idea to get a better shot at reproduction by standing out of the crowd. there are 3 basic things in life I'd say. we want to survive, we want to reproduce and one day we die.

  • @shezario Still doesn't differentiate us from a fruit fly.

  • @diversityrulesok did I say it does ^^ I only said it is one of the major driving forces for our society and thus should not ever be a tabu or something you should not be able to talk about. if you want to go into antropological philosophy this would take more than some yt comments -.-

  • @cjcrashoveride

No, I never said I would. But I do understand that it is impossible to change a mindset which the west only managed to shrug off 2 or 3 generations ago in less than a decade. What I said was that control and censorship is something that takes place in every country and culture.

Fox, NBC, CBS .. they are all essential parts of your culture. (nipple gates .. to funny).

This group tries to reach the masses, on TV.. not only in clubs.

Applaud change, they will get there.

  • @dominice112

Control and censorship do take place all over the world, that doesn't mean we need to lend it more credit and power. Fox, NBC, and CBS are a part of American culture but only to the extent of the people who watch those channels. I personally don't like to watch those channels and would much prefer to get a lot of my entertainment from the internet where creative people are free to do what they like.

  • @cjcrashoveride

And yet because of the rating those channels get, the spastic reactions regarding the nipple of Janet Jackson (as an example) the influence shouldn't be underestimated.

And I share your preference in media.

But I stick to my point that if you are willing to push the boundaries of what is possible you first follow the rules. Just by calling themselves "The Axis of Evil" is a nudge in the direction of not the West, but the cramped up culture they aim for as their audience.

  • @cjcrashoveride True, but keep in mind they're just starting out. Once they warm up to it, they'll stop having these rules.

  • @Batistta56 And you got this information where? They'll never start talking about religion and sex in places where it is taboo because they are afraid for their lives.

  • @cjcrashoveride redneck racist!

  • @johnnydoeist Your ignorance is showing...How am I racist? I don't dislike any specific race or ethnic group. The only thing I am prejudiced against is people who aren't open minded enough to see comedy for the true art form that it is and instead want a watered down version which doesn't stand out as anything but an imitation.

  • @cjcrashoveride racists always use this excuse. that's how we know u're a racist.

  • @johnnydoeist And you, are either a child or a moron. Either way, grow up and learn more about the world before you judge others.

  • Sheikh Azuber... lol

  • WOOT he said truthiness

    Colbert Wins

  • lol, his jokes are so dry i could barely taste them

  • Lets laugh at a positive view of countries who would put to death anyone who would actually talk about those "3B's". No no no, you can not have your cake and eat it too. Until you can so a joke about 2 imams, a Jew and a naked woman in a bar with the prophet as a drunk bartender, this happy go lucky make-believe caricaturisation of civilisation will not do.

  • @retepvosnul

    did you watch the video?

"those countrys" arent 100% full of radical "kill the infidel" muslims

    thats the point!

  • @thisscreensucks Yes I did, just before commenting.

I did not support that notion at all. I did not even refer to it.

It is obvious that at most places the majority of people are living their lives happily. In Saudi Arabia people live very fruitful lives, even with the ban on the 3B's.

This has more to do with making westerners feel all fuzzy.

  • @retepvosnul

.Why a naked woman? Sounds retrogressively sexist and not at all civilised.

And for someone who can write extreme and patently false generalisations like "countries who would put to death anyone who would actually talk about those "3B's" " - you really have a nerve to pontificate on "make-believe caricaturisation of civilisation" !

  • That guy reminds me of a middle eastern jake gyllenhall

  • I think this is fantastic. I hope he can reach Americans with his message about middle eastern people so that we can get to know our fellow human beings that live there and work together to build a more peaceful world.

  • 7:26 Rima Fakih - the 1st arab american Miss USA - is outspoken against the ground zero mosque .

  • great hair.

  • George Clooney?

  • You look like a terrorist :/

    Just kiding lol MDR

Thanks for the effort brozer :)

  • So, what good does this do then? At first it sounded inspirational - making middle eastern stand up comedy - lets all laugh at our selves. The world has seen too much fundamentalist violence coming from that aprt of the world, maybe this will change it...

But, the comedians must adhere to strict rules. no one is to laugh at religion, politics or sex.

    um...

Does this not re-enforce the issues then? what are we laughing at? what if a comedian "crosses the line" will he be killed?

    this is B.S.

  • @TheEarthAbides if anything, it's an attempt to show the Western world that it's possible to make middle-eastern friendly content. in other words, learn to censor yourself when dealing with us, we are a viable market - ready to spend money on your entertainment, just abide by our many rules and regulations, and we wont call for your death in our streets.

  • @TheEarthAbides Did you just... reply to yourself? But thumbs up for agreement :)

  • @firstofthecouncil :) Yes I did. I needed to add an addition to my first statement and though that would be the best way to do it.

  • @TheEarthAbides

    I agree.

  • @TheEarthAbides he is not saying that comedy in general shouldn't push boundaries or even comedy aimed at middle eastern audiences just that for the axis of evil tour those were the rules because the idea was to generate popularity for stand up comedy across the middle east. That wouldn't be possible if they decided to make it controversial especially when dealing with many volatile groups, govs etc who despite what you may believe are not necessarily a reflection of the avg mid eastern viewer

  • @pamination TED = Ideas Worth Spreading. Do you think that Jamil Abu-Wardeh was invited to speak at TED simply because he is trying to market stand up comedy? it's only TED worthy because of the context and the inferred significance of the idea.

but once you break it down, it's actually not significant. in fact, if anything, it's just reinforcing the problems that are rampant in the middle east. for one, Islam takes itself WAY too seriously. a little laughter at itself is TED worthy... not this

  • I like how he defends this by saying they dont just want to kill infidels, they also like to laugh. While admitting that when joking about sex, religion or politics you re in serious trouble.

  • @omnissient He said "We're not all angry fanatics that want to kill the infidel". He also said there are those "who spread fallacious stories about us" @5:55. Ironic.

  • @omnissient There's a difference between killing someone and finding something not that funny.

  • @omnissient forgive me if my comment is of as positively as i intended

but isn't the same in the Europe an North america, religion sexual prefrances and politics are generally off limite

  • @Gabriel1o1 It is a funny coincidence that i am currently watching a comedy show by a turk in Germany who is making fun of islam, prtoestantism and catholicism.

But you re right in some way. It is becoming a problem in Europe. Islam is growing scarily in power and with it the claimns that blasphemy against islam is a crime.

Politics is never of limits. I dont know about sex.

Nothing should be off limits, nothing should be tabu. Anything may be discussed and a discourse may not have censorship

  • 9 minutes of mumbling punctuated by: "don't make jokes about our religion" & "try to think of us positively" yea right... if you can't make fun of your own ludicrous religion, then what you do can scarcely be called comedy.

  • can we pay him to make Al-Qaeda, laugh themselves to death? I mean once that's done, the whole world will be a brighter and funnier place.

  • dubai and the arab states are just fiat money puppets of the usa and banksters money. look, these countries are fooled by usa. the dollar will go down and with it hopefully the arab states. because the states say they are islamic, but how can it be that the us soldiers are occupying these states? kuwait and saudi are full of thes milit
