This arguement between Forza and GT5 is dumb GT5 is the Forza of ps3 and Forza is the GT5 of xbox.. There two racing games which tie into the fact that the creators want people TO HAVE FUN NOT ARGUE.

Forza is Arcade with features like "Inside view placement being more center for better visibility" unlike GT. The cockpit view in GT is exactly where you would be in real life. In Real life your visibility is not the Center of the car. Forza is not a SIM. The physics part of a game IS it's game play. The graphics of a game is not game play

@rhythmnsmoke I'm quite familiar with simulators and their purpose. It is my understanding that a sim must "feel" realistic. Years ago, the USMC instituted a simulator that looked like crap but it "felt" real. Weapons and targets reacted much like they would in real life, giving the user the "feeling" of authenticity. Forza's focus is physics. Period. The physics ALONE give that kinetic illusion of realism. It's not perfect, but Forza IS a sim. Btw, how did your Tc or 350Z "feel" in Forza? :-)
@SuperFlyBonsai So, you are in the United States Marine Corps and have been on these Simulators. And yes I know they use SIMS....but those SIMS are not altered to give you better vision, or control. It's setup to be exactly what you would experience in the field of combat (tank) or flight (fighter plane)...etc..
@SuperFlyBonsai If GT was a Flight sim, it would give you only the field of view that the human eye could see (peripherals). Forza would have an expanded view so you could see past that for comfort of gameplay (non-realistic). GT5 has new physics in it that I'm eager to test after the GT Demo. Never got a chance to run a tC or 350z in Forza, I don't own an Xbox360 only a PS3. My testing of Forza is limited, but enough to have an opinion on it.

@rhythmnsmoke I've taken the time to watch and read the case against Forza being a simulator. Simulator is a heavy word. That said, I'm prepared to accept that it may NOT be a true sim. Though, some of the arguments against Forza being a sim apply to the GT series as well (namely GT5P). I think it's safe to say both games come close to replicating a sim on a console. All I know is I will continue to play Forza until GT5 releases (fingers crossed for the 24th). Happy gaming!

Grand Turismo 5 is ripping off of Forza. And NO Grand turismo doesn't look better than Forza. It looks just as good...maybe. I own both systems so NO im not a fan boy. Each system has its perks. Each has its flaws. However in terms of BEST racing sims Forza Takes the lead on that. I will buy Grand Turismo also just because I love racing. And Forza Motorsport was only offered in the 360 package because it was the most sold racing simulator ever at that point in time.

Both of them have pros and cons. I regard GT5 to be more realistic due to the heavy driving which is really similar to real cars, and I regard Forza to be better at graphics with the lighting and everything.

dude I don't even ownb a ps3 I have a xbox360 and have forza 1 and 2 and forza2 was not a bad game was quite cool but u can't compare it to the gt5 demo they brought out for ps3 I played that on my friends ps3 and it was mindblowing it was some sort of DEMO it's not even the finished version. I like forza but the graphics on gran turismo are like 2 years ahead can't compare that. Ah and the quality of the xbox is totally shit it broke down twice and I never moved it from it's place or did shit.
GT5 doesnt even exist yet. Prologue does, but GT5 may never come out. Plus, they had no plans to model damage so it cant even be considered a simulation. Simulations simulate real life in this instance and well, GT has always been a perfect example of Arcade racing...just plow your way through cars to win.
Oh, graphics look right about the same. Too bad BluRay will be on the out as soon as 1080p Streaming catches on. Who has that? Oh, Xbox.

The wait for GT5 is well worth it. Maybe when it's released you forza fans will finally shut your yaps and accept that GT5 will be the best CONSOLE racing sim.
Note: the CONSOLE is in there because the best public racing sim is iRacing for the PC.

Both of them have pros and cons. I regard GT5 to be more realistic due to the heavy driving which is really similar to real cars, and I regard Forza to be better at graphics with the lighting and everything.

Well it is real actually... if you look at the way how they draw that thing: they tape the car full of special tape -> scan it like that.. and it has exactly thesame shapes etc as the car would have in real life :) epox

dude I don't even ownb a ps3 I have a xbox360 and have forza 1 and 2 and forza2 was not a bad game was quite cool but u can't compare it to the gt5 demo they brought out for ps3 I played that on my friends ps3 and it was mindblowing it was some sort of DEMO it's not even the finished version. I like forza but the graphics on gran turismo are like 2 years ahead can't compare that. Ah and the quality of the xbox is totally shit it broke down twice and I never moved it from it's place or did shit.

GT5 doesnt even exist yet. Prologue does, but GT5 may never come out. Plus, they had no plans to model damage so it cant even be considered a simulation. Simulations simulate real life in this instance and well, GT has always been a perfect example of Arcade racing...just plow your way through cars to win.
Oh, graphics look right about the same. Too bad BluRay will be on the out as soon as 1080p Streaming catches on. Who has that? Oh, Xbox.
