That is correct, it is Robin McAuley formerly of MSG. He sounds great but like any band that has a new singer, it takes time to get used to the new sound. Remember back when Jimi Jamison replaced Dave Bickler? I think we all thought the same thing back then. Robin does a good job because he can pull off most of Jimi's high vocals and some of Dave's low end grit. Just curious, who would you have liked to see as a replacement singer?
No, I don't believe it rained that night because they did finish the show and I remember standing by the fence for a while waiting to meet Frankie because we actually grew up in the same hometown. Unfortunately he did not come over. Oh well, I will try at the next show.
No, we didn't talk to anybody. My wife and I were just there for a while waiting to see who would come out of the trailer. It was a great show. I hope to see them this summer at one of the fests!
robin mcauley was actually quite a good singer back in the day, still is, just doesnt sound anything like survivor's past lead singers. Look up some mcauley-schenker group stuff, pretty good really
My fave song! Bryan McAuley was an AMAZING front for Survivor! I went to this concert prepared to be disappointed as I loved Dave Bickler vocals, but Bryan had me at the first song. I was front row left. Bryan was such a complete riot, with so much energy, interacting with the whole crowd, and he has a great edgy voice too. The whole band was fantastic! I've seen Survivor over 25 times starting at the local bars in '79-81, but this was one of the best. Wish there were more shows this year!
why is fucking frankie in the spotlight and robin not? wtf?
