@fledertit Hey, thanks! I've got three on youtube and more to come. You can also see me on facebook: Pure Wellness Centers, and my books on Amazon. Best of health. tom ballard, ND
Wait, I'm supposed to adhere to a cartoon character's advice and not my doctor's? Can you point me to some research that supports these statements? My doc had been after me for 2 or 3 years to take statins which I finally agreed to 60 days ago...
@gsantoliquido I won't take you 2 minutes to find the research on the internet that your doctor should know. See recent articles by Michael Pollan and the book Overdosed America. Search "Statins and diabetes". My video is from the research. I am a doctor, if that helps, but better to read. And when you're told about statin's lowering cholesterol, ask "That's fine, but will they prolong my life?" What minimal benefit statins may provide are offset by their negatives.
@gsantoliquido for the 3 years you resisted I am interested to know what alternative effort you made to correct this.Research on either side can be flawed but doing research and taking action helps. One size does not fit all Data is great, many Drs are paid by the drug company to promote their drug. The side effects of the statins would make your goal to not make taking this long term
HA HA THIS IS RICH, I have fought with my Dr all the time.. trying to put my vit D level teen on xanax or anti Ds.. I am so happy I have google now!! I know better, they can try to bull crap me but I have GOOGLE!
Vit D3 is the one with K2 not that D2 crap Dr give u
There's lots of good research on this. * British Med Journal 1992, Nov.2 * Br Med J. 2009, Jan 8 * Cardiology J: 2009, 16 * Am J of Car 2010, Jan 1 * Epidemiology, 2001, May: 13 * Neurology 2001 May 14 * JAMA 1994, Nov 2 * JAMA 1996, Jan 3 * Arch of Neurology, 2004 June * NEJM 1996 Oct 3 Am J Cardiology 2004 Nov 15 Lancet 2010: 375 * Journal of the American College of Cardiology. 2010 Dec 3
I have high cholesterol (225), but great blood pressure and family history. I have been resisting my doctor's demands I take Lipitor for many years and would really like to get citations for the research mentioned here.
I've been saving up for 6 months so I can buy Lipitor, it is my dream to grow wild chest hair and to be able to swim from my dock to a nearby island but it's too risky to try at this point
@jeremiah1129 LOL! They spew out drug company info... My brother works at a restaurant and said that pharmaceutical companies come in all the time and "train" doctors... it's crazy. Doctors take health advice from the people selling the pharmaceuticals!
High blood pressure actually is bad. But I think you mean the fallacy that it's all the salt and we need to minimize our salt intake. If that, then I agree. It all depends upon insulin and angiotensin.
Hilarious. Just about nails the medical obsession with cholesterol...and willingness to ignore any evidence to the contrary.

Sad to say, it's unlikely your doctor has read anything other than what the drug companies produce.
