This sounds like it is in E Flat because it has been slowed down a small amount. The drums and symbols even sound deeper along with plants voice which can't possibly be tuned down. I have the original recording of this exact concert and it does not sound like this.
This is in normal standard tuning, but the track is slowed down
its good to hear a different fuller version of this. I was at this and I wish they could have released more of the whole concert, though it was three hours long.
k this is werid ..on the DVD he tunes his top string down to D but than when he starts playing its in standard tuning(i was just playing along with it ) And now this recording is like his guitar is tuned down a whole step ..it must be only this recording. Anyways I figured out what he is basically playing during the intro. in standard tuning,I play it as an octave chord using A and G strings at the 5th and 7th frets and then slide down one poistion and then 5 --7--0 on the E for the dah dah dah
He was tuning down for ":Moby Dick", which was actually before "How Many More Times" (as HMMT was their set closer.) The song order was changed, as several earlier songs were taken out, which made it feel too early for a drum solo.
Yeah because the DVD is mixed! Very mixed!!! In the DVD they removed A LOT of songs, the DVD lasted 1 hour and 20 mins, while in real life it was 4 hours long... I was shocked that they decided to remove Heartbreaker from the DVD...
ledzeppelin . com/show/january-9-1970
go to this page for the set list of the real concert... just remove the spaces between the "." (period) between the 'ledzeppelin' and 'com'.
well for the led zeppelins other name the nobs during there early tours a actual desendant of the man who made zeppelins saw there name and was threating to sue them so they made a tempoary name the nobs for them
Actually, it was Zep who came up with that one. Zeppelin calling themselves "The Nobs" is pretty much like a modern American band calling themselves "The Balls" (Really, that is the same exact thing.) As for your question, check my response to FrequentlyFried, and The Garden Tapes website.
wait the last comment i sent doesnt make sence i meantt on the one from the led zeppelin DVD he tunes his top string down but wen he plays it still sounds standard tuning
were did u get the bootleg for this? didnt knoe he tuned down his gutiar a whole step either
yeah at the start of the song u hear jimmy page tune down but then it doesnt sound like it but on this one u can does anyone knoe where i could find some tabs for this? orr like a lessson video thingie
@enther7 They were doing a concert in a different country and i think something happened and the royalty of that country were named Zeppelin or had zeppelin in their name. So they had to change it for that gigg.
Have you thought of putting up a bunch of the Plantations? I love being able to hear him inbetween songs, it gives you additional insight to the atmosphere of the gig. Thanks!!!!
Ya Plant's chatter between songs. He was really quite a talker..."In between last time we came & this time, we managed to get an album out" ....all that stuff. thanks so much
This is one of my favorite gigs. Full on rocker straight to finish. + the playfull Come On Everybody & Something Else seems like it was so quick, like ok, lets do that one, & then away they go. Love it straight away!
Pepperc2900 is really Jimmy Page! I've blown your cover, Mr. Page. That's why he has all these bootlegs! He wants to share his music only with his most devoted fans on youtube.
lol well i'm verysorry AcidTones1 but i am much to busy to put all of these bootlegs up myself, so i let my good friend Thomas Rutherford help me out, I'm much too busy rehersing for the reuinion tour...(woops did i type that outload) ;)
where i can find this bootleg?

Is the editing out of the introduction the only change made for the DVD? Also why is this audio lower pitched/slower?

hey these notes are lower than E.. is it just the recording? Or did they tone it down for this concert?
DDRNinja300 3 years ago
its E flat I think
TheTwinLights 3 years ago
no its E, they never changed the key in a jam in E, its the recording
pepperc2900 3 years ago
I know what your saying.. but i mean literally the pitch of this video is lower than E... im stroking an E right now.. its not E! XD
Lets just all agree this a kickass song!
DDRNinja300 3 years ago
Dude, don't forget to mention Plant sings some lines from "On The Way Home" by Buffalo Springfield/Neil Young. It starts at 8:06 to 8:30.
When the dream came
I held my breath with my eyes closed
I went insane, like a smoke ring day
When the wind blows
By the way, great bootlegs, and yet another great performance by the almighty Nobs!
