  • another classic.

  • Note to b111791:

You are correct, m8. Your loss. Though *this* Chicagoan *did* get a promo copy (It appeared in The US on Motown's VIP label, prior to Taylor's moving to Rare Earth) that was VERY happily played in my collection...till it (along with 1509 other singles & 8742 LPs all died in a fire in NM, Circa 1999)

Taylor *did* do abit better when Motown transferred him to the Rare Earth label, of course..

    Dude, R. Dean Taylor ROCKS!

  • Top dancer. ktf

  • They played this in the background of Easteneders in the 2nd March 2009 episode. How cool was that?

  • Well, the song is way cool but Eastenders is a load of shite.

  • KTF..where's the talc...

  • Northern Soul Classix. Outstanding! ktf

  • this is my all time favorite track. its just a great tune

  • Just great really gets me up off my seat (even now) Ha Ha?

  • why so few comments on a fine song

  • Love those Motown drums!!! R. Dean was one of the few white artists signed to Motown...two other white Motown acts that come to mind are The Underdogs and Tommy Good...you could count the Flaming Ember if you'd like, but they were signed Invictus/Hot Wax....

  • The Underdogs with that old Chris Clark number Love's gone bad. Great stuff. This song reminds me of my mis-spent youth back in the 80s on my Lambretta. Well done.

  • What about Kiki Dee, first Brit to record on Motown.

  • Chris Clark, Tommy Good, The Underdogs, R. Dean Taylor and Helen Reddy are it I think......two others not released due to one of them dieing the day Berry signed him.....and that's why he stopped signing white acts appartently.......KTF

  • Before I "clicked" on your profile (soulfan2), I thought to myself..."I'll bet anything, this guy is from the UK". Sure enough. That's because this was only a hit in the UK (1974) and wasn't a hit in the US (1967)...our loss! This is Taylor's best song!

  • Thanks glad you like it...by the way im not a guy soulfan3 is lol but no worries been called worse im sure...ktf from the uk

  • @b111791 Taylor is actually from Canada. He had just one hit in the US: "Indiana Wants Me."

  • Could you post "lets go somewhere" please?

ive not heard it in ages :)

  • Happy Halloween Soulfan....Respect Steve
