  • Where you get the tab

  • bass is so much better then guitar in my opinion.it has a deeper sound, frets are bigger, and it sounds funkier and its more important

  • cool, i learned a different way... not sure if its right cause i learned it by ear.

  • Great job.

Also, P/J pu combo plus 24 frets. SWEET.

  • Youre out of rythm almost in all the hard parts . To fix that take five :P and study each part slow at first and when you get the grip of it then speed up ..

Also try to tune first before recording something :P

Otherwise pretty good . This is not flaming, just honest advice from one to another musician , don't crusify me :S

  • Fantastic, D seems to be a little out of tune but that doesn't take away from the great playing. I think I might dig out my bass and learn your version :-)

  • oh for god's sake write your own signature tune.

    nice job though!

  • Cool cover man, have you put that tab up on line anywhere, would love to learn it but can only find it in sheet music form

  • very good. tighten up the melody just a tiny bit...

  • i dont like it, i love it

  • can you put it on a partiture??? i would be great.

  • A string or D strins are out of tune... great anyway.

  • great!

  • ok i hav a doubt is using a pick betr or fingers??

  • other people will say its what you prefer... but fingers are better.. lol u can do so much more if you learn using your fingers....

  • @thegolfman52 dude neither it all depends on what your playing. i.e. fingers for jazz blues soul or pick for rock and metal but even still dude use what makes you comfortable and fits your playing style

  • Nice transcribing and playing! Congratulations! ... but ... maybe I'm wrong, but I think that the D string is slightly out of tune. Check out the Eb at 13th fret ...

  • Thanks for the comment! I'll definitely check this out...

  • Oh man

    Sounds GREAT!

  • woow that's great

i like the jazz on bass and i will play it when i can ...

    :D

  • Hey man, your doing great. Keep it up, practice makes perfect.

  • yo i just learned that

but where did u find that slow version of the song?

could you send me it in an email

i will give u my email in a private message

  • Im thinking about learning the bass and im planning on starting out with that bass. Is it any good for beginners?

  • Yes, it has quality and it is cheap too.

  • dang that's crazies man

    great job great job

  • dude, this is really sick, this song is pretty easy on bass, but i like your cover much more than the normal bass line, great job.

  • good work

  • i have the same bass its just he plays better great work man

  • what a bass-god!

  • great job

  • Just amazing. I`m a bassist, would you send me the tab? Anyway thanx, thanx for the music.

but its in damn treble clef

  • Pretty freaking sweetmy friend, I enjoyed this immensely :)

  • awesome.....sax on bass...dats sumthing u don see every day......did u get that bass wit a package off the internet???!!

  • nah from a local shop thank!

  • OMg this is by far the best thing ive seen this month!!! :D:D

Do you play Slap bass? judging by your name? maybe u do? haha well im no bass player so i have to right to critisis (spelling*) Buts its very good mate :P:P

  • Haha thanks. Yeah i do a bit of slap, not too much

    Thanks for commenting!

  • Nice job. It's tough to make some of those saxophone runs really smooth. YOu can "cheat" it with a bit of distortion! ;0) It's just really tough to mimic a wind instrument on a bass. Maybe use a six string. I have a tough enough time with 4 though! ;0)

  • Thanks dude! If you want, stay tuned and sub cos im uploading a 6 string version really soon!

    Thanks for the sweet comment!

  • That was so cool. A very enjoyable adaptation on the bass. I'll check out your other submissions and look forward to your future posts.

  • Thank you so much. If you like what you see, i ask you to subscribe as well!

Thanks for taking the time to check this out my friend.

    Daniel

  • wow even the solo

  • Its really great. I like to have the bass tabs for it. Did you uploaded them or do you know a place were they are allready uploaded?

  • no sorry. i only did it by ear so i have no tabs.

    try to follow my video!

  • Awesome! I love this song and you did a great job transcribing, my only suggestion/critique is try to play it a bit "smoother" the attack of certain notes sounded kind of odd with a sax which has a much more even attack. But like I said otherwise great!

  • Yeah i wanted to get a much more of a legato bassline to round out my attack a bit more, thanks for the input!

    Thanks for the comment bgood!

  • Nice idea - the unison with the Sax. 5 stars! - this one's hard enough on guitar as a melody. How long did it take to practice this?

  • Not as long as i'd thought! I learnt the main 'head' theme a while back but the solo took me a couple hours to fully transcribe onto bass and to play it with exact rhythm and unison with the sax. Cool piece which really enlightened my playing as a soloist.

    Thanks mate!

  • Fantastic Job. I'd love to see you record this again after some more practice! Sounds Awesome!

I couldn't do it at the moment. so Much Kudos!

  • Thanks Krackers!

    Great respect man!

  • Never heard anyone transcribe this piece to bass before, nicely done! 5 *'s

  • thanks magick!!!

  • yay

  • Fantastic as usual!!! Nice to hear this song again

  • thanks wolfstan! you've gone quiet recently!

  • Good transcription.

  • cheers akira!

  • wow. impressive, i love this song. nice to see bass appropriations haaaaa!

  • thanks!

  • Nice!. I always wondered what the name of this song was. thx

  • Thanks! yeah its definitely a classic

  • brilliantly done man -- amazing bass player

  • cheers mate!

  • stunning! that's amazingly done, my friend. saw it live once, you are right in the spirit.

  • Thanks dude! great comment.

  • Very solid, man. Doing it by ear earns extra points. Jazz is the best music on Earth and this is coming from someone who listens and plays several genres, as you already know. Great work

  • Thanks dude. Really appreciate the comment. Jazz has eally weird use of scales so im not sure about your ear but this song ripped mine apart!

  • No wonder there. Jazz with its dissonances, chromatic scales, odd intervals, augmented and diminished chords, and shifting time signatures is the most challenging music to master. I like Latin Jazz the most(being Hispanic myself) but everything that is Jazz influenced makes for better music. Even in popular music you can see it as in one of the last songs I covered, the Bossa Nova, Smooth Jazz influenced , Smooth Operator. Later.

  • cheers for comment man! peace

  • oh skills :O

  • THANKS LIZZIE!~
