  • @DylantjeMijnPaard lol, respectfully, I had to re read. Never saw a young horse that plump. Rider did fine, no one knows how gentle or severe the spurs. Sometimes the big horses take time to feel the cues. Kind of like a gnat on an elephant. "A" for effort no doubt.

  • I want to see this composition choreographed for Grand Prix. It'd be epic.

  • @Nemurin okay, sorry then xD

  • there are some really intelligent comments here...

    somewhere...

If you don't want to be rude, don't post it. Thanks.

  • The rider is 6 months pregnant give her a break.

  • Are you sure that the horse wasn't pregnant because the rider didn't look pregnant the horse did because you could see it's belly from it's butt from behind lol

  • Beautiful mommy, I'm sure the baby was dancing inside that big belly. but this music is kinda scary hah

  • A Friesian can't help but be magnificent. Very nice video!

  • I love the fact that the rider was still riding while pregnant. I rode until the day I was due. My child has natural balance on a horse, and I think that was why, she knows the horses movement.

  • I didn't think the belly was big, I thought the legs were thin. Is that just the video quality or is it the horse? Either way, it moves beautifully.

  • youre frissian is a little bit over weight for the way it's body is build but he / she is beautiful great riding when you where pregnant ;)

  • your feet are sticking out a bit, spurs are to be light on tummy so dont have to kick ,

  • have you tried riding a friesian? they can bevery stubbern.

  • nice horse but a bit of a round belly :P is the horse a mare, stallion or gelding? because if it was a mare id say it looked pregnant O__o

  • thats just the way some fresians look :)

  • you can tell she is pregent

  • she is a very nice mover wonderful supplness what place did you get for the class?

  • nice ride! I love to see freestyles, they are amazing. I've only done one myself and it was not easy.... lol

  • Thanks for the video.

Im in training level myself..I hope to do a freestyle someday too..they look like so much fun!

(Of course...LOTS of work...but they seem rewarding in the end.)

    Good job

  • Wowie! 6 months pregnant....... Amazing!!! The Friesian was gorgeous of course- Wonderful dressage freestyle!

  • Whew 6 months pregnant eh? Well done. Beautiful Friesian of course (it's a Friesian, what can we expect...).

I'm wondering, because (at least at the start) I'm seeing the rider poke the horse a lot with those spurs, and I just got told off myself for... (oh god English terms!) ... well for not leaving it alone. In my lesson we all tend to give 'em too many signs, so I was wondering if this isn't too many?

  • During training, this horse was sluggish for the first three years. This video was taken when she was becoming a much more forward horse, and later became so forward she needed half halts to keep from speeding away. Because of the past, the rider did have a tendency to remind with the leg, not always with the spur, though. On a hot day in June, the rider didn't want a sluggish horse to break gait in a test. : )

  • Ooooh! Yes, the horse did look a lot more forward than what I'd tend to think of when someone says "sluggish" but now I get where the habit comes from... especially in the heat. ;) Thank you for explaining!

  • @Nemurin I think it's beautiful!!! so, don't be so rude please. and yes, i know the horse is a little fat, but i like friesian horses, maybe you don't like them, but, if you don't like it then keep your reactions for yourself!

@mauifarrier i really like this video!! (sorry, my english isn't very well, that's because i'm from the Netherlands)

  • @robinneke2 I was never rude, as you can also tell from the way I was replied to.

  • @Nemurin yeah her aids shouldnt have to be that strong, i think if her leg was rolled back so she actually had the inside of it on the horse she wouldnt need to use so much spur (amateur opinion!)

  • Thank you for your comments. This ride is far from perfect, but I shared it to encourage amateur riders like myself to get out there and try a freestyle. Even if you are only at training level. See my other videos of trot & canter where I experimented with music. I designed this freestyle on my own - choreography, music, editing, etc. All on my own with a camera and a computer. The sound editing software was FREE. Audacity is the name. So good luck to all riders wanting to ride to music.

  • Tips: have patience, canter can be very challenging for friesians especially if they are not finished growing. Also, having a riding instructor really helps. In my video here, you can see moments in the canter where the horse struggles to stay balanced. The riding surface was hard, and the horse was still growing. Rider accepts all responsibility for risks while riding. : )

  • Sit on your bottom

  • HAHA atleast you didn't pull off what i managed to do... AKA flying changes at training level.... haha that was funny

  • very very nice, I would try to keep your hands a little more still

  • In which gait? In order to maintain contact and still "allow" with the hands, they have to move with the motion of the horse's head, especially at the walk. In western, without contact, the hands can stay still as a statue. Thank you for your comments.

  • @mauifarrier My kudos to you for even trying freestyle dressage. I thought it was lovely. Beautiful horse, nice music selections.

  • @mauifarrier 1:09 - 1:29 its looks a bit harsh....

  • I thought all tests were suppose to be done in a sitting trot???

  • Not lower level tests

  • Sitting trot is not mandatory until first level.

  • you dont have to do sitting trot until after elementary level

  • Not bad for a rider who was 6 months pregnant =)
