@NezuVIX Surround the area you want the painting to fill with blocks then put the painting in the lower left corner. try a few times and it should fit over teh door with it already in place

i found a way without all the redstone !! its easy put the lever close to the door so it will open then put the painting NEXT to the door so it will cover the door push the lever (you should hear the door as wtfminecraft said before)

Every time i mine the blocks behind the painting it just falls off the wall, i only removed 2 and it was a 2x2 painting, still connected to the other 2, unmined blocks, but it seems to require all 4 blocks to stay on the wall. Am I doing sth wrong, or is this really just how it is, like is it maybe just my version of mc?

THIS DOES WORK IN 1.0.0! Do the same as the video, but in a 2x2 square, put the door on the right side, and then place the painting on the bottom left corner until it creates a painting that conceals the door!

I usually just make a 1x 2 hole in the wall to fit the door, then put paintings in the block to the left on the lower door block, until it covers the door (Let the door be open before you put painting)
