  • excellent!

  • This is sissy music

  • Nice sound. I wonder why no one records himself playing ska on les pauls. If you know ska stuff i would be very thankful to you if you do some ska rhythms.

  • As73 has a much cleaner and warmer sound for me at least. but the les paul had that classic bite....for this song and the solo the as73 takes it....but I think the settings preferred the nature of the hollow body for this one...1 setting may work for one guitar not all. So kind of throws off the comparision of their true potentials.

  • what music is this?

  • @Saulera777 Talk to Your Daughter.

  • @Saulera777 by JB Lenoir (original)

  • i actually liked the tone of the epiphone better in this 1 but thats just cuz u switched pickups. stock epiphone pickups suck, so muddy.

  • i bet if you put duncans in the ibanez it would destroy the epiphone.

  • the les paul wails more imo

better for heavier rock i guess

ibanez sound warm and bluesy :)

  • epiphone thicker & more colourful in my opinion on the solo

  • was the tone the same on both?

  • Same POD XT settings.

  • Yeah, I'm thinking the Ibanez. The epiphone sounds kinda brittle.

  • What equalization are you using , bass , mids and trebble? NICE PLAYING

  • Unfortunately, I don´t remember. Thanks.

  • nice playing on the solos

  • epiphone wins

  • amp?

  • POD XT.

  • whats the name of that song?

  • Talk to Your Daughter: (Robben Ford).

  • the as73 is way better for that song. i don't think lp's are made for that sort of stuff.

  • I disagree, Ford himself plays a Les Paul. I do prefer the sound of the AS73 in this video though.

  • epiphone les paul is better but you've played better with ibanez :)

  • ive got the as73g..and it plays waaaaayy better than a stand epi les paul, its all matter of opinion though, i like the sound of my as73g better than my friends standard paul, but hey whatever blows your skirt up.

  • ya, but there allot thinner, but obviously not as good as the gibson or epiphone series, and the ibanes version is the G- art

  • I personally don't have a say in which guitar is better because I don't have enough expereience with either. But if I had a first choice it would be les paul.

  • Good job man. What amp are you using?

  • POD XT - Bassman Simulation. Thanks.

  • *MEANT for metal*

  • ibanez was ment to play metal :L

  • I love the Les Paul! cant find a good Ibanez anywhere around here...

  • i like the ibanez more

it has like the tone that i like

  • the Ibanez sounds better to me, allot less compressed, and compliments that playing style allot better. Nice playing by the way, lots of soul.

  • what's that song?

  • Excuse me, but I dont know. Thanks.

  • i got a Ibanez Les Paul:D

  • y couldnt buy a good guitar

  • ibanez doesn't make Les Pauls, do they?

  • haha no. only gibson and epiphone.

  • You mean the les paul style body? No. They have their own bodies and occasionally use a strat style body, like Jackson does. I think the bodies are copyrighted, so you have to pay Fender or Gibson to use them.

  • is it 10th strings or 11th?

  • as73 ftw

    \m/

METAL UP YOUR ASS since 1982

  • great playin:). awesome sound. personally im a strat man. theres just a tone off a strat you can get out of no other instrument. but every guitar is unique i suppose

  • amen brother!

the start is awesome but i have to prefer the Jaguar only because it can get a harder sound easier(and its cheaper ;) )

  • I prefer the Ibanez, but Epiphone Les Paul os really great too.

  • hey yall i just made one check it out just type in ibanez vs les paul you should see it

  • epiphone wins o/

  • if I was you i choose the lp standard

  • Good playing. I love the LP, but I was suprised with the artcore. They both sound very nice to me.

  • that seymour duncan sounds great!

  • I prefer the as73 because has a vintage sound for rock, and because i've one XD

  • Are these only jazz and blues guitars? Or can i play rock/classic rock type stuff on them?

  • You can play several music styles using these guitars. Good luck.

  • You can play MANY different styles of music on both these brands of guitars.I prefer the les paul but ibanez is really good too

  • you can really play any music on any guitar

    metal on tele

    jazz on rg

    ...

  • I Agree in the respect that you can.. but some styles sound much better on certain guitars, for example metal works much better on ibanez and gibson than on a strat, but yeah,, I guess both are possible

  • Tell that to Yngwie Malmsteen, bra. Not trying to disrespect you, but just listen to that guy play.

  • i have this exactly same guitar!

  • The Artcore's are very good value for the money. BTW waht amp were you using??

  • I´m using a POD XT.

  • I would say that, although Les Paul himself does not really play rock, comparing the Les Paul to an Artcore is like comparing apples to oranges.

I see that you have Jazz pups on the the Les Paul but still it is very much a rock guitar (Jackson uses a SD Jazz jb tb4 in the bridge position of the SL2 and KE2's and they are rock guitars through and through.

The Artcore sounds very nice with that bluesy sound you had dialed in there.

  • I jus bought one of those ibanez as73 on a whim, and its amazing.

  • Nice bed sheet! It's really retro. The sound of your guitars are epic. I have a crappy Ibanez Gio. It buzzes all the time and get out of tune in like 5 minutes of playing it. So i give your playing and your guitars a 10/10! BRAVO

  • epiphone!

  • awesome :)

  • This is awesome video thx for making cuz i was trying to decide which guitar to buy. I'm leaning towards the ibanez as73 because it has a nice and clean sound. The les paul is more rock n roll type sound.

  • I was also thinking about either the as73 or the eiphone,I got the epiphone because if i ever want to use distortion either have feedback like hell with the as73 or have no feedback at all with the epiphone. But if you play clean sound defenitely get the as73.

  • I got both guitars and even though the Les Paul can plays heavy distortion the best, you can definitely rock with an as73. I'm not sure if you'll have feedback on stage but with my practice amp max volume i'm not getting any feedback at all. I prefer the Ibanez over the Epiphone because the build quality is just better and it's a bit more special looking. Anyway if you like to play loud metal/heavy rock go fot the LP

  • STANDARD???

  • Yes dude.

  • what pickups do u have in the les paul??

  • Seymour Duncan - Jazz and JB.

  • He said that they are seymours.

  • i think they are both great guitars. It would now depend on your taste. as for me i like the bluesy sound of the as73 i agree with unopeptio06, the as73 suited this song. But i think the epi would sound better when playing a rock and roll song

  • The paul sounds a little too rock n' roll, the Ibanez's tone is much better suited with this song.

  • Nice tone!

  • I've got an Ibanez AS-73 in the 'violin burst' color. GREAT look, awesome binding especially around the f-holes...and after I stuck in a set of Seth Lover pups and replaced the wiring with vintage, it rocks as good as an ES-335...for about 2K less! ;) These are a fantastic deal!

  • Violin burst? i think you mean tabacco burst

  • Tobacco burst I meant

  • liken the epiphone les paul standard. nice and clean very versatile

  • I got an Epi, but like the sound of the Ibanez here much better.. I was looking for a video of a Ibanez AS93 but this 73 should sound like what I was needing to know..

I seen a Blue Burst and think I might buy one..

Btw, Good playing, excuse me,, I mean great job..

  • Man I was just playing that Ibanez at the music store today. I love it. For the price, its a VERY solid purchase. As far as the les paul goes, I'm not a fan, but thats just me.

  • is it a JB Lenoir cover? which band? sounds pretty good!

  • It´s The Robben Ford Band and the music is "Talk To Your Daughter". Thanks.

  • les pauls all time'

  • those are Seymour Duncan humbuckers

  • did you switch the pickups from like a gibson classic.

  • for this I likes the more broken up sound of the epiphone.

I personally play a les paul standard but I dont think i would shell out that much loot for another one.

Maybe I'd buy an epiphone next time.

  • Epiphone always man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice comparision video, congratulations !!

I have an Ibanez Artcore AS73 and I changed the original Inabez pickups to Seymour Duncan's 59 model (bridge and neck)and I can get a great tone !!

The 59 model is the best for blues !!

  • @Falcon191172 I prefer the stock ones.

  • it'S nice to hear the difference once.

  • should i get an epi lp standard or the cortm600

  • corts are terrible

epiphones are ok but not the best

then again depends wot kind of music u want to play

ibanez are gr8 for metal and playing fast...check out the rg350 if ur looking for value for money...but epiphones are great for rhythm...not reali the most accessible for soloing

but hey its up to u i guess

  • you talk poo dude

  • love the sound of the ibanez :)

    nice

  • and so does your spelling and grammer

  • agreed

  • I meant i agreed with "Stratuser54"'s coment, not the stupid one by the guy who considers himself "guitargod"

  • Grammar, not 'grammer.'

Jesus, God, why did you invent hypocrites?

    ...

  • the ibby slams the epi. the ibanez just comes through with a much richer sound

  • epi wins dude

  • the les paul has different pick ups

  • But the les paul rules ibanez it sucks they make bad guitars

  • whats song was that

  • Talk to your Daughter - Robben Ford (my solo version).

  • you have no idea what you're talking about do you?

did i really just read that right? a "fret switch"?

  • les Paul rules :DDD

  • fred switch? pickup switch

  • I vote for the les paul you can git a even cleaner sound out of it if you turn the vol on the guitar down and cut the tone back the les paul's pickup's are hotter then the Ibanez I have both

  • Hmm. I've actually been researching both guitars to buy. This makes my decision even harder. The Ibanez sounds brighter, and the Les Paul sounds warmer. I'm actually surprised that the Duncans didn't make it sound even warmer than it did. I wonder how the Ibanez would sound with Duncans.

  • don't waste your money on pups these are surprising at a gig look more at your effects and amp.

  • no dude take the epi not the ibanez!!!

  • The artcore was like Buttah!!!

  • the ibanez is better. Cause the Les Paul's rock capability stands out too much. The ibanez was better for that blues song.

  • Pal, I think that your Ibanez sounded much better than the Epiphone. One could argue that they are different, but I rather think that the Ibanez kicked some serious ass, technically speaking... what is your opinion?

  • to those who shred the Ibanez 73 is not for you. an eppip hot roded w/emg's is more of what you would naturally want, but once you actually want to gig for money and not free beer, you will move over to instruments like the es 335 clones and such. anybody over 20yrs old will understand or so I want to believe

  • Lol, I don't totally agree with you that a Les Paul (or Tele) won't do a job just as good as a 335 clone...BUT I gotta say I love how you phrased this man. If nothing else you didn't toss in a random "donkey balls" or "f'ing sucks"....

  • i have an ibanez rg370dx with stock pickups and an epiphone les paul standard with emg hz's, and i have to say the les paul plays better than the ibanez, but sitting down the ibanez is better balanced with weight. Nice video both guitars sounded good to me

  • what's stock pick up mean? sorry for my ignorence :s

  • Original pickup. thankx.

  • thank you very much, nice very very well

  • nice

  • Lol does it fuck mate.

  • well jep that's right!!
