  • Bullets bounce of their bodies. Rockets, missiles, jets cannot stop their death ships.

  • Notice how American Flight 5812 turns into American Flight 812....great continuity. Ed Wood for President!

  • Why hasn't someone tried to update this BOMB? They blew it remaking "The Day The Earth Stood Still" - It can only get better from this platform

  • @TheGreenerman Hardly. This movie is hilariously bad. It has a certain charm to it, since it is HILARIOUSLY bad. It is the butt of so many jokes. It is a legend in its own amateur, abysmal right. It needs to be crap to be good.

FWIW "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (the original) is this movie done smartly and excellently. So just watch that instead.

  • I can't see the strings holding the saucer.

  • Worst movie ever made is Pyrates, with Kevin Bacon and Kyra, whose love is so hot that every time they get it on something catches fire around them. Why was this flick made, why was it given the go ahead to be made, why was it financed? Horrible movie.

  • horror doo wop RETARDS WITH RAYGUNS come listen and subscribe

  • THANK YOU for posting this! I've been wanting to rent this for a long while now, but it's on Very Long Wait on my Queue!

  • FUTURE EVENTS SUCH AS THESE WILL AFFECT YOU IN THE FUTURE

  • Must see for any 50's Sci-Fi viewers. This is not "The Day the Earth Stood Still" or "Forbidden Planet". That doesn't make it less enjoyable. Just a little bit stranger.

  • Ed Wood was a director made bad movies that were enjoyable. Unlike the films of people like Uwe Boll and Tommy Wiseau.

  • :(( = People seeing that UFO in 1959

:)) = People seeing that UFO in 2009

  • And I always thought that I would be able to spend the rest of my life 20 years ago going forward. Damn the luck! Actual house where Bela Lugosi spent his last days. Ed Wood was very nice to him, despite the fact that he was considered washed up. I think Bela's last movie was titled "Blow me you know who you are!" Then again, maybe not...

  • And I always thought that I would be able to spend the rest of my life 20 years ago going forward. Damn the luck!

  • This film possesses a film condition I call, Ed Wood Syndrome (EWS). It is a film that you know is bad, maybe due to the set, or the acting or the writing, and yet you love it on every level because it is bad. The sheer audacity of it being bad brings a good film, and Ed Wood created a classic film, which is why he was the king of making bad films good. And this is why this film is one of my favourite films of all time. RIP Ed Wood Jr.Shame that nowadays bad films are just bad...Twilight!

  • press A for totally wrong subtitles

  • Apparently there's tons of continuity errors and plot holes lol, I must see it

  • lol my friend took a survey today on the worst Cult Film EVER, and this was the highest voted next to Drag Me To Hell

  • I will say this. The movie is no classic nor masterpiece. But is is remembered for being so bad, it's funny. Cardboard ships, loose gravestones, boom mikes and cheesy dialogue make this movie something you should enjoy laughing at. It is truly Ed Wood's finest failure.

  • Ed Wood may not have much talent in film making, but he had the passion, he was not afraid to chase his dream, and even if he failed, failed again and again, being chased out from the director's office to theators, he still had the passion to do what he thought he was born to do... and that's how we should remember Ed, a man who had the guts to chase his dream

  • Ed Wood movies are just full of energy, even if they are rushed, low budgeted and sort of made up on the spot. Seeing the Tim Burton movie helps, but just by watching Wood's own movie you can get an understanding of all the problems he went through and how it's a miracle that these movies were actually produced

  • worst film i have ever seen is reefer madness funny but awfull

  • I believe that when it's gets really really bad, it becomes funny. Become it wasn't made to make people laugh... The screams are so... not scaring!!! lol 7:00

  • did anyone else notice dick chaney in the opening creds?

  • @Trabdood yeah...doing wardrobe. At least he's not in charge of the firearms

  • @peajink

    lmao well said.

  • What I want to know is, how did the wife come out of the grave without the gravediggers seeing her? I suppose its just a minor glitch.

  • 1:42 what did he said?

  • definitely a horrible movie, yet it has a certain charm and cheesy sense to it

  • I enjoed that....

  • Amazing they made a cockpit out of 3 wooden stools.

2 to sit on and a third stool seat cut in half for the two controls

  • @agusta1968

I know, right! The only set design for the cockpit is a clipboard & a cheap barometer. LOL

    @fawfulmark2

IMDB says the UFO props were from toy plastic model kits that Ed Wood bought at a store and glued together himself. :-)

    @ev1else

Ed Wood got the money to produce this film from the First Baptist Church of Beverly Hills & some of its members appear in bit roles. The pastor of the church is one of the gravediggers, for example.. and Ed convinced some of the actors to get baptized.

  • Pause at 5:02. U can see the shadow of the boom mic on the backdrop. lol

  • @Scalismas656 thanks! I've been looking for that!

  • @Scalismas656 I think a boom mic shadow is the least of this film's problems, lol.

  • "They" forced Wood to change the title from "Grave Robbers from Outer Space" because in reality there ARE grave robbers from outer space. Some guy in the air force told me, so it must be true

  • The film is quite fun to watch.

Poor Ed. He had such vision. I deeply admire him for trying to create his own films regardless of their horribleness. He's totally better than Uwe Boll.

  • The most incredibly dumb pilot cabin never made in studio!

  • the movies today are way worse than this

  • Sounds like TOP CAT lol

  • OBEY CRISWELL

  • Lugosi did the smart thing by dying before this came out...can't say I blame him...

  • HAHAHA dick chaney is on wardrobe xD

  • Bad movie? Yes.

    Worst movie? No.

Ed at least had more morals than many studios and filmakers today. It wasn't about the money but about being able to tell a story. A terrible story no doubt but at least he put his heart into something he believed in. Look at Uwe Boll, Michael Bay, Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. Those guys have more resources and money yet their films are still phenominally painfully bad. It's like they write the script as they go along if they even "write" at all.

  • The aircraft cockpit looks like a subway toilet, and the ufo really is a wobbly plastic disc on a string. And god DAMMIT the acting!

  • @unifiedreality acctually, it's 2 paper plates painted Silver.

  • "future events such as these will affect you in the future"

    genius

  • Terrible Editing, but i love it. its funny :)

  • Sundown of the day - wouldn't surpirise me if he were asleep this time of the morning - Then Vampirella comes out and those gravediggers scream - then that old fellah comes out in the MIDDLE OF THE FRICKIN' DAY NOW.

Classic crap. Por old Bela Lugosi.

  • 8:19

Looks like he died standing, I can see his shadow. Maybe he died from shock? He probably witnessed a collision, and it looked horrible to look at.

  • "Future events such as these will affect you in the future." Redundant much?

  • um horrible quality much?

or is this how movies were back then.

  • @MariosGuy if you find it horrible quality video. like i did add &fmt=18 at the end of the url and it makes the video 480 p :D

  • @TheSethwnm23 Thank you. I wish I had a Ed Wood style line to end this

  • @MariosGuy not all movies from this era were horrible. in fact the 30's, 40's, and 50's were hollywoods golden era (this movie was made in 1959). even today with all the technology we have, bad movies are still being made. they will always be around no matter what.

  • "Future events such as these will affect you.... in the future." No shit, sherlock.

  • I can now see how much Tim Burton respected Ed Wood in the movie he made about him.

  • its the worst movie of all times

  • what actually happened to bela lugosi at the end of the last scene? he seems to die for no reason!

  • dudley manlove? lawl

  • Not the worst movie ever, not by along shot. This movie is hilarious, fun, and enjoyable. Ed Wood films are some of my favorite films. If you want to see the worst movie ever see Epic Movie or Disaster Movie. Those are offensive, painful, and just all around lazy. There is no heart put into them like there are in Ed Wood Films. Ed Wood is funny in a way where you aren't sure if he is trying or not, the idiots behind Epic and Disaster movie are trying to be funny and failing at every level.

  • No, but that's the thing! What makes these films so funny is that ed wood actually thought he was making serious science fiction! He had such a passion for film...so much so that he never let anything stop him...not a low budget, or a tight release date...not even a lack of talent! Ed Wood jr. is a cult hero! and he will be remembered long after epic and disaster movie are left to rot in the dvd collection of every drunk frat boy or spastic 10 year old kid in the world!

  • @MrOnethroughTen Might I add "Howard the Duck," "Battlefield Earth," "Kazaam," "The Garbage Pail Kids Movie," "Troll 2," "Glitter," "Showgirls," "Striptease," "The Underground Comedy Movie," "Mac & Me," "Son of the Mask," and "Manos: Hands of Fate." I could go on and on.

  • @MrOnethroughTen Most films today lack that kind of honesty. Your comment made me glad :) i love Ed Wood, and will always enjoy his films. To hell Die Hard and Avatar.

  • @MrOnethroughTen well during its time it wwas considered the worse, then time changed everything and its a cult clasic, like many other old classsic horr(ible)r movies and sci-fis

  • @MrOnethroughTen I think Ed Wood's movies suffered primarily from very low budgets and tight production schedules... not that I think he would have made high art if given millions... but he shows off a lot more gusto and enthusiasm and creativity per dollar than most of Hollywood Blockbusters. A whole lot of what goes into making a 'good' movie is being able to hire skilled/experience professionals... which Mr. Wood just couldn't afford.

  • Best freaking movie ever.

  • 7:55-7:58

The ever beautiful flowers she had planted...WITH HER OWN HANDS!

    LMAO!!!!

  • The greatest opening line in cinematic history.

Every red-blooded American should see this film.

    Criswell lives!

  • at 2:28 theres a "dick chaney" listed in the credits

  • he's bloody old enough

  • The funny thing is, is that for this director this was his best movie.

  • omfg, is that the Doom 3 menu music?!?! I haven't heard that in forever.

  • it is implied that he got hit by a car

  • I dont know why critics call this the worst movie in history when most films hollywood churn out now are plotless, over budgeted, CGI pish.

Ed wood was a genius and its a shame he was only recognised posthumously.

  • Hey I totally agree so no matter how many people think this is "the worst movie" ever made, it's the type that is so bad it's good. And it is a good movie, a classic. And yes I'd rather sit and watch this then anything Hollywood does today. At least Ed Wood put his heart into it

  • agreed better than 2days

    'blockbusters"

  • i couldnt make it through the first minute

  • Uwe Boll is the new Ed Wood, only worse!

  • This pwns Michael Bay.

  • Given the sorry excuses for horror films that come out today, I'd say we could use some Ed Wood influence.

  • bella lugosi was in the first half of this movie then when he died they got soe other dude to fill in and just made him wear his cape over his face the whole time, i feel so bad for bella that his last movie was a shitty movie, funny sure but, my god bella why?! and yes ed wood is far better and way more entertaining then uwe boll

  • Ed wood is better than Uwe Boll....by FAAARRRR

  • @ TheCGIMaster, every director is better then Uwe Boll

  • @PhantosTheHedgehog haha very true :)

  • @TheCGIMaster oh you got that right, nto even in 100 years people won't like it, they'll just poster his movies and face on the toilet paper

  • Troll 2 is the worst movie ever!

  • Whoever said this is the worst movie in history is sadly mistaken. This film has entertainment value and that alone keeps it from being the worst. If you think this is the worst, then you have not seen many movies.

  • It was Billed as "The scariest movie of the Decade"

  • dudley manlove, man what a name...

  • Not gay at all. Dudely Manlove isn't a gay name...not gay...not...

  • that's the first thing i picked up on.

this movie is supposed to be horrible but that's what makes it funny and that's what makes it horribly good.

  • if you lower your expectation then this movie is not bad.

  • the worst movie in history but it has an entertaining value to it

  • It is so bad, it is heart breaking.

    And very funny

  • haha yeah, if it wasn't for ed wood i wouldn't know who the fuck is Bella Lugosi is lol.. then after knowing about ed wood, i found out that Bella Lugosi is the most famous Dracula in history

  • Worst? Definitely not! Ed Wood's movies are way better in every aspect than those of... for example... Uwe Boll or Eli Roth or the guys who made Superhero Movie and Epic Movie etc.

  • i guess that's true as i said Ed Wood's Movies has an entertainment Value to them, Uwe Boll doesn't, he ruins possibly one of the greatest games of all time

  • Exactly. A four year old child can write better screenplay's than him.

Dude: "You did all these to become immortal? Why?"

    Zombie: "To live forever!"

  • HOLY SHIT! Dick Chaney did the wardrobe for this?!?!?!

  • i think the house that bela comes out of wuz his actual placce

  • wtf i swear i heard the first guy say "we are all interested in the future for it is were you will die-are going to spend the rest of our lives" WTF?!?1 :D

  • I believe he says "you and I," not "will die."

  • 'Future events such as these will effect you.. in the future'

    ... *head explodes*

  • so bad you cant help but keep watching.

  • ed wood's movies are so bad that they are good!

  • im watching this in my film class....

this is trully the most horrible movie ive even seen even more horrible then that star wars movie about the EWOK's

  • haha I love this film

The part where the old man is hit by a car is pure excellence

  • The first time I didn't even know if happened. That's what you call bad editing!

  • greatest movie ever! acting and effects absolutely outstanding! Hollywood will never be able to top this! oh, look at the time. time for my meds.

  • are the pilots even using the controls lol

  • Tim Buton matched all the characters in this movie so well in Ed Wood. This movie is effin' awesome!! Props to Eddy Jr and Bella.

  • Lol what was plan 8? will there be a plan 10??? LOL!

  • there's a Plan 69 from Outer Space. XD

  • is it a prono

  • yep

  • @aidyspady999 what the fuck is a prono

  • @TheRalphus666 porno

  • @aidyspady999 Just bustin balls, I make typo errors all the time

  • what a classic.

    it's so bad it's good!

  • I think the plane in the beginning is a military cargo plane lol........

  • I love this movie so much!

  • who's dick chaney?

  • He was Bush's VP.

    And apperently a costume guy.

  • this is one of those "so-bad-its-good" movie

  • EXACTLY!

  • A few years back I saw a color version of plan 9. It didn't ruin it completely, but it diminished it. I strongly believe black and white classics should NEVER be colorized.

  • 5:02 you can see the thing on the top :D

  • i know this is a crappy, but good

crap. i love it. the curtains in the

cockpit are showers curtains, and the

flying saucers are hub caps, but i love

this movie. if you want real good laughs,

have a movie night and invite friends.

  • better than citizen kane!

  • omg the airplane cockpit is set up infront of a wall... you can see the tiles that is effing hilarious

  • At 0:47; "Furture events such as these, will effect you in the future." I've seen this movie hundreds of times (It's awesomely bad!), and the first time that I heard that line, my reaction was "Wow. What the fuck." Now, I just laugh. Rock on Ed Wood!

  • first of all, who the fuck would think Aliens and Zombies would get along!?

  • ha ha word!

  • What a name....Dudley Manlove.

  • This movie is fucking incredible! It puts so called "cinematic masterpieces" such as "Wizard of Oz, King Kong (1933), and Jaws", to shame. Rock on Ed Wood. Eat your heart out Spielberg!

  • "the robot monster "movie also was one of the worst ever made.

  • Same as "Jaws: the Revenge, and Batman and Robin".

  • This movie is, a sentence i thought i would never use: Creepy in a hilarious way.

It takes amazing skill to make a movie this bad!

  • "future events such as these will affect you in the future" wtf?

  • and right after that he says "we will show you what happened on that fateful day long ago" wtf

  • At 2:26, it says that "Dick Chaney" was in charge of Wardrobe. I know that it's spelled wrong, but what the hell. You never know!

  • Yeah,I noticed that too :D

  • In my opinion, this is the Citizen Kane of all Ed Wood films.

  • This movie is as good as it's bad, hence the greatest film ever!

  • Exactly.

  • I couldn't agree more!

  • At 5:02 you can see the shadow of the microphone clearly on the back wall for afew seconds.

  • Comment removed

  • at 6:47 its day at 6: 49 it´s dark night....damn the time run so fast...

  • Ed Wood had such a low budget that he couldn't even darken the film.

  • At 8:18 you can still see his shadow after he supposedly went into the street.

  • omfg 5:08 made me laugh so hard! Classic

  • I think 8:15 onward kinda has the same effects. LOL or what?

  • yea it does, but just that scene just caught me

  • Still though... At least he didn't make Battlefield: Earth. That is so fucking bad but not in a funny kind of way.

Personally i love this film for all the same reasons i know i should it with.

  • how come there are countless youtube results for the actual film of plan 9, but only trailers for Monster a Go-Go which sounds funnier

  • I don't understand why people call this the worst movie ever made yes, it's bad, so bad that is good, we have the fake saucers, the lame dialogue, the awful acting, but we have something that you can't see in most of todays's movies: passion. Ed Wood had it, and if you start watching this you want to get to the end, that is not a bad movie fact. This shit about meet the spartans, destruction movie, date movie, those are the real worst movie ever made candidates, not the bad but great Wood's work

  • Worst movies: "Hitman," "The Hills Have Eyes 2."

  • yeah but its so bad its funny, its cliched but true, whereas something like meet the spartans is just not funny(even though its a comedy.

  • I like how the pilot casually says 'That's nothing from this world' LOL Like it's no big deal

  • Well, the gravediggers' screams were pretty goood...

but considering the movie they're in, that's not that suprising.

  • Oh wow this is incredible.. don't know if that is a good thing.

  • LOL 69 comments

Just how Ed would have liked it...

  • At 7:17, Bela Lugosi is leaving his actual house. He's not acting - he really is going out for a walk. It is shown in the Ed Wood movie starring Johnny Depp.

  • True I LOVE that movie

  • he actually is acting. Wood was filming footage for another film but due to Lugosi's death he shelved the project. Then he later used it in this film. Also, Ed Wood being a terrific movie it is not entirely fact.

  • Lol @ 6:51 - puppet on wheels

  • CAN YOU PROVE IT DID'NT HAPPEN-?!

  • lol...worst cockpit set ever XD

  • also, pause at 5:02 and you can see a boom mic :D

  • Comment removed

  • LMAO the screams at 7:03 cracked me up :D

  • Three words: BEST COMEDY EVER!

  • Yea !
