i actually like the new layout. first i was mad, but then i was like.. why did we ever use a star rating system!? also now 1080p vids!! SOOO worth it.. and i like the new black utube player.
What I don't get is how do you delete videos after you watched them. I'm now going under "my subscriptions to look at the videos I subscribe to, but I want to clean up the ones I've watch, or delete the ones I don't want to watch! This is the only part that is driving me mad, lol! It only gives me the option to save them! Can you help me with this?
@chessdude67 Hover your mouse over the thumbnail of the video you want to delete. Once you've done that you will see a blue X in the top hand side of that specific video... Click it, and the video will be GONE. Hope that helps.
7. There was an option to show more than 5 videos in your subscription box.
8. Everything kind of looks the same (at least I think it does).
9. You can't really say they kept it up to date, as there is no real standard to compare it to. The new layout isn't any more modern or "with it" than the old one was.
The only thing I enjoy about it, is that there seems to be less commercials on the front page.
@LaughingOutKraut I should have been more clear about it... I meant to say, its updated in the sense that it has a new look. If they keep updating the look, they can't go wrong. This is what keeps them up to date.

That's working fine now and I'm very glad it does. But still, the new look of the layout just isn't pleasing if you ask me.

YouTube doesn't want their traffic to go to another site for that, they want it to be their site and nothing but their site. Its a bit unrealistic but that is what every website aims for.

I agree, I think Youtube's new social networking features are good additions to the site.
I guess people don't like change because they see it as an inconvenience and don't understand how everything works straight away. When they don't understand it they automatically have a negative opinion of it. People need to give it a chance to get used to it, as you said.
@VoltageICWS Well, I actually went on to the youtube forum and apparently it was a frequent problem. Maybe you didn't notice it? Maybe it wasn't for everyone?
Yeah, people need to give it a chance! Everyone needs to stop being ignorant in thinking YouTube is not going to change it back. Go into it with an open mind and see the positives and negatives of it. Not just all negatives.

@chris07081 How is everything everywhere? I still don't understand. YouTube has put the social aspect of it and the subscription box under one tab on the left side of the page. To me, that means its (excuse my apple language) UNIFIED. Not cluttered...

I'd like to reply to this, but my answer would be too long. In short, here are my reasons why I don't like the new layout:
1. No clear arrangement.
2. Not customizable (can't arrange the "boxes" you had with the old layout)
3. How well the subscription box works has nothing to do with the layout.
4. Where is my inbox?
5. No "Most Liked" box on the front page
6. I feel like the community part is rather missing, because I rarely see any content from people I'm not subscribed to.

and even if i did i could just scroll down a little bit and take a look
befor all the subs were in just one section when u can take a quick look
not i dont know what is what and i have to search for the new videos
they should make it optional in the settings

just now everything is mixed together in a long list instead of being being in designated areas that you could glance at with ease
i think if youtube is trying to be more social there not doing a good job about it
jumbling up everything dont make it more social
adding a chat feature or something would be making it more social
or adding a section where u can just see what ur friends r doing like on the old layout
