Wait a sec... couldn't you just have used the LJA to get the second Sol to fool the game into thinking you got both Sols (like how you can get the fourth mirror shard or the third part to the Goron Mines boss key to make the game think you have all three or four parts)? Heck, you might've been able to skip Segment 36 entirely if that was possible.

Yeah, you can't do it. There would be no platform to take you there. And even if you could lja back up it wouldn't help since you would still leave the orb behind.

Hm... I'm gonna have to look into this. If there's a way to LJA back up and use the Clawshot to get the second Sol, and if it allows you to skip the first Sol by fooling the game into thinking you have both, then we may be able to skip the first Sol entirely.
Key was inventory item, each part overwriting the item in that slot. But these Sols make visual effect, and you can even change where they are, so they might be "clones", with same attributes.

Why do you save after getting the 2nd sol? Couldn't you have saved a few seconds by just going straight to Zant?

I don't think there's any way to get back without using the light-platform.
