@kds242 i have always thought android lust got an influence from NIN/marilyn manson. I haven't done my research; i dont know when android started so it could be the other way around (but i doubt it...she looks really young). doesn't mean she is devoid of her own creativity and ability to produce new, good, and original music.

Although there are NIN, Marilyn Manson, etc influences in her music...she was able to put her own touch and make it all her own. If you ask me, she is pulling from all the best aspects of this genre and giving you enough theatrics to keep your eyes busy. Enjoy...or change the channel.

I read in an interview that her primary influences are David Bowie, NIN, and Bjork. But I've got to say I don't hear any David Bowie; I hear the NIN in the music/lyrics and the bjork in her creepy back-ground vocals. I think she is unique enough though; good, dark and catchy.

Year Zero is one of my favorite all time albums, but personally i think the slip and ghost were NIN's 2 worst albums so far. I understand theres only so much music to be made in a bands personal style and artists eventually have to expand and change, but id beat myself up if i had to pay for Trent's last 2. Call me nostalgic for CD's but theres just some things a digital copy of an album could never give, like the album art on the sleeve and on the disc itself.
