In retrospect, it is obvious that the policecar shouldn't have pulled out when he did. I don't believe the policeman deliberatly tried to hurt the biker, eventhough that was the result.
In his defense, the motorcyclist was wheeleing and speeding excessively. In all fairness, it could have been ANY car that pulled out in front of him. He was simply going too fast to stop. The policeman was a prat for stopping the oncomming bikers. But the dramatic outcome was the bikers own fault.
I think I was a bit unlcear, sorry. Let me clarify:
What I mean is that it could have been any street and any car that pulled out in front of him. At the speed he was going, he has no chance of breaking in time if someone pulls out in front of him. The fact that everyone else managed to stop in good time kinda supports that.
Had he not speeded excessively, the police car would only have inconvenicenced the bikers by forcing them to slow down. Because of excessive speed, it ended fataly.
This cyclist only commited a traffic violation, it's not like he robed a bank and was shooting random citizens. The actions of the officer were intentional and far more wreckless than that of the cyclist. The officer intent was not to give the traditional(lawful) citation to this cyclist. The officer acted irresponsibly and unprofessionally; he alone is at fault. This wouldn't have happend to "ANY" car. The average motorist would have seen the actions of the cyclist and yeilded.
Yes, it would have happened if ANY car pulled out like that. It happens daily. Most times without causing an accident. But sometimes a smartass like the motorcyclist gets carried away, and disregards his own safety. THEN it becomes fatal. Not because the cop (or any other car) asesses the speed of the oncomming cyclist wrong.
I'm not saying that the cop is without fault. I'm saying that the reason for the fatal outcome was the cyclists own damn fault.

if that had happened here in the USA the police officer would not have lived through the bikers (most likely would have been shot right away) and if he did live he would have been charged for the crash; because here in the USA speeding does not give a cop (anybody) the right to do what he did. In retrospect, it is obvious that the policecar shouldn't have pulled out when he did. I don't believe the policeman deliberatly tried to hurt the biker, eventhough that was the result.
In his defense, the motorcyclist was wheeleing and speeding excessively. In all fairness, it could have been ANY car that pulled out in front of him. He was simply going too fast to stop. The policeman was a prat for stopping the oncomming bikers. But the dramatic outcome was the bikers own fault.

I think I was a bit unlcear, sorry. Let me clarify:
What I mean is that it could have been any street and any car that pulled out in front of him. At the speed he was going, he has no chance of breaking in time if someone pulls out in front of him. The fact that everyone else managed to stop in good time kinda supports that.
Had he not speeded excessively, the police car would only have inconvenicenced the bikers by forcing them to slow down. Because of excessive speed, it ended fataly.

This cyclist only commited a traffic violation, it's not like he robed a bank and was shooting random citizens. The actions of the officer were intentional and far more wreckless than that of the cyclist. The officer intent was not to give the traditional(lawful) citation to this cyclist. The officer acted irresponsibly and unprofessionally; he alone is at fault. This wouldn't have happend to "ANY" car. The average motorist would have seen the actions of the cyclist and yeilded.

Yes, it would have happened if ANY car pulled out like that. It happens daily. Most times without causing an accident. But sometimes a smartass like the motorcyclist gets carried away, and disregards his own safety. THEN it becomes fatal. Not because the cop (or any other car) asesses the speed of the oncomming cyclist wrong.
I'm not saying that the cop is without fault. I'm saying that the reason for the fatal outcome was the cyclists own damn fault.
