I just found a stain on my bedroom ceiling last night, similar to the one in this video. My ceiling is slanted, though (the the drywall is nailed to the rafters?) Any tips for detecting leaks when there is no attic? I worry that a large piece of the ceiling will need to be cut out. Plus, I live in a condo, so the association is responsible for the roof and I am for my ceiling. I don't want them in my house. Does anyone have any (civil) tips for that complication also? Thanks!
thanks for sharing. I have water coming in during the winter months here in New England. I am going to recement the shingle back down using a chaulking gun and sealent for the job. Hopefully that will take care of it. Winter is coming up on us soon enough. Might have to add more attic insulation as well, it's not the thickest in the attic. My question is, How far over from the valley, (left and Right) should I be cementing over? If anyone knows that would be great to comment me back..
Anyone commenting on spelling and pronunciation when looking up advice on construction should probably be more concerned with DIY's on Fine Arts and writing. You'd have quite a job ahead of you if you were to do that on every DIY posting.
@tmt686 I'm sorry if you were offended by my comment on this video. Now my question is to you why did you spell the word (advise) the same as i have and how would you spell it?
@kjbaert I didn't spell it the same as you did, I used the dictionary spelling: advice. You used advise, you spelled it with an S, I used a C. If you read it out it sounds the same but technically it's incorrect. So you know I wasn't offended, just making a point about judging. I guess we could nit pick all day but that's no fun.
no... i've got 3 gallons worth of tar up there so far and i have patched every damn thing that looks like it could be a hole, crack or damaged in anyway, i need way more

Once you find the right place of the leak, how to repair it?
