Best thing to do is to dampen your finger, put it in a small dish of pure salt crystals, and apply *directly* to the sore. Wow! What a burn. After jumping up and down for 5 minutes in sheer pain, do it again. After a while the canker sore will know who's boss.

I also had chronic canker sores my whole life. The cause turned out to be a food allergy called celiac wherein eating wheat protein weakens the immune system. Once I started a gluten-free diet four years ago, I haven't gotten a single one since. I suspect there are many undiagnosed celiacs getting these things.
Interesting -- thanks for sharing, I'll have to look into celiac -- I'd never heard of it. Another thing to avoid is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, a very common ingredient in toothpaste. Avoiding SLS has cut WAY down on my outbreaks.
FYI, two days and three Canker Cover applications later and my sore is 90% gone. So, not as instantaneous as they claim, but still, for $10 I'd use it again because it did speed recovery.
I tried these and I think they're great. At first it was a little hard to get over the sore but once i did it was amazing how fast the pain stopped. It stuck on to the sore for 8 hours and it wasn't so globbyor anything. But the best part was that when the canker cover finally melted away, my sore was f...ing gone.
this shit does not work. i used it ,and all i got after 8 hours was a huge glob of.....w.e the hell its made of and it didnt dissolve (like the box says it does) and i was tired of having it on my mouth so i try and take it off but its stuck so it was hard to peel it off (and painful too)
tried that, burns like a bitch for the first 30 seconds, then you can't feel shit. what sucks is that if you get it anywhere else in ur mouth then that part gets numb as well. also from my experience it doesn't make the sore go away. it just puts the pain away but the sore is still open for more damage. so in a sense it could possibly worsen the condition of the sore since it doesn't protect it. it only hides the pain.

Best thing to do is to dampen your finger, put it in a small dish of pure salt crystals, and apply *directly* to the sore. Wow! What a burn. After jumping up and down for 5 minutes in sheer pain, do it again. After a while the canker sore will know who's boss.

i had a canker sore right next to one of my teeth so when i would talk or even move my mouth alil bit it would hurt like shit ...u guys should get this canker cover thing it works it numb it real fast and the gel thingy lasted all day and now its still there but i dont hurt one bit ..i recommend this product to any one..

Seriously, these are the ONLY THING I have found to actually help with canker sores...I get them whenever I bite my lip or ANYthing! It sucks! But seriously, put one of these on as SOON as you know that one is coming...it'll keep it from becoming a full-blown sore. These things are miraculous. Life-changing for me. :)

I have 3 in my mouth right now. both sides of my mouth, so I've been pretty much just drinking juice all week. I tried to eat some pasta and it hurt so much I cried. I've never had this before, but it's good to know that others out there know what its like.

I grew up with my grandma and being filipino she did not believe putting salt in my canker soar becuz she said its useless, so she used got allum crystals and craked it into little pieces like salt and put it straight in my canker soar. It was more painful than salt but it was gone in one day (:

I also had chronic canker sores my whole life. The cause turned out to be a food allergy called celiac wherein eating wheat protein weakens the immune system. Once I started a gluten-free diet four years ago, I haven't gotten a single one since. I suspect there are many undiagnosed celiacs getting these things.

Interesting -- thanks for sharing, I'll have to look into celiac -- I'd never heard of it. Another thing to avoid is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, a very common ingredient in toothpaste. Avoiding SLS has cut WAY down on my outbreaks.
FYI, two days and three Canker Cover applications later and my sore is 90% gone. So, not as instantaneous as they claim, but still, for $10 I'd use it again because it did speed recovery.

I tried these and I think they're great. At first it was a little hard to get over the sore but once i did it was amazing how fast the pain stopped. It stuck on to the sore for 8 hours and it wasn't so globbyor anything. But the best part was that when the canker cover finally melted away, my sore was f...ing gone.

this shit does not work. i used it ,and all i got after 8 hours was a huge glob of.....w.e the hell its made of and it didnt dissolve (like the box says it does) and i was tired of having it on my mouth so i try and take it off but its stuck so it was hard to peel it off (and painful too)

tried that, burns like a bitch for the first 30 seconds, then you can't feel shit. what sucks is that if you get it anywhere else in ur mouth then that part gets numb as well. also from my experience it doesn't make the sore go away. it just puts the pain away but the sore is still open for more damage. so in a sense it could possibly worsen the condition of the sore since it doesn't protect it. it only hides the pain.
