  • I'm sure this is a good guitar, but they did a poor job of setting this review up. It sounds like shit in this video.

  • theres probably a 2nd part for the strat

  • That guy resembles Dave Mustaine.

  • wtf where is the strat?

  • This is like comparing a barstool to a grape, If you want a prs that is comparable to a strat, use the 305... This video is fucking useless. You dont deserve 940,000 views

  • douche

  • why the hell did he use the single cut this isnt a les paul vs vid its a prs vs strat show us the 24 custom (avg) which is comparable to the strat. and quit giving the rundown history of the LP what about prs n fenders history do Hendrix n Santana mean nothing? come on people seriously. i have to say owning both the prs is opinionally a better guitar but nothing feels more like home then the memory of picking up my first strat n the smooth feel and great sound of an intro and expert made guitar

  • I think the les Paul is way better if you like the dirty and rock and roll sound

  • Not gonna lie, but I really think PRS' are overrated.

  • Fender > PRS

  • Question.... why not put a les paul like guitar up against.. well a friggin les paul? :D Honestly, it really does not matter what this guy thinks... he is not us. I prefer the strat because of the feel, its history, its legacy. Ive never played that PRS but I imagine it probably is a good guitar, but I cant see myself playing one, nor is it the same as a strat to me even if it is a supposed "upgraded" guitar, in my point of view of course, and this comment it not intended for arguement ;)

  • fanboy!

  • Cry all you want bitches!!!!! LMFAO !!!!!!!!

  • I guess the ones who like fender is because cant afford a Gibson! !!suck on that fender lovers !!!!!

  • @blackyslash Nah man, the reason we choose fender is because of it's clean sound, and it's simplicity. Sure a gibson can get nice and dirty, but who cares? I want an instrument with stout, fine tuned, and fully customizable parts who's quality has stood the test of time. Not some glued together, humbuckin', sharp edged, over priced show piece. GO FENDER! :)

  • play motherfucker !!!

  • what's the purpose of this vid?

  • What a twat

  • idk dude, the way he talks really bothers me for some reason

  • imbecil no toco la strato

  • wow way to compare apples to oranges. If you wanted to do an equal test you should have used an American Deluxe HSS with the polarity button. YOu can do all the same tricks as that over priced PRS!

  • in my opinion i LOVE the strat

  • u cant really compare the two..

  • Was für ein dummes Gelaber...

  • GIBSON!!!!!!

  • This MF Idiot is bored that chess's game on radio... and even revew that strat.... my opinion? he can go to the hell with this PRS pushed in the ass...

  • Telecaster's for life

  • I like Gibson! ))

  • what your playing song?

  • LES PAUL SUCKS, STRATOCASTER FOREVER s2

  • @toskito123 I love the LP shape... But I really do prefer the strato sounds...

  • its incomparable

  • your gonnna break the button

  • This jerk makes me waste time

  • volume: 2

  • Strat all the way bitches!!!

  • Win strat

  • How dare he put down strats like this

  • uhh... strat? helloooo!

  • You can really pick between a Stratocaster and a Les Paul. They are both very fine guitars and have different attributes which make them great. I own a Strat and I could never have picked a better instrument. Sure in needs a bit of sustain boost but who can say no to the whammy bar. Made famous by Clapton, Hendrix, Gilmour and obviously Hank Marvin. The Les Paul is a very nice guitar as well and I will one day like to own one. Stratocasters and Les Pauls are both great guitars for everyone.

  • That asshole dident iven play the strat :/

  • Apples and oranges. How could you possibly compare those two?

  • @TheJustRooster The apple is easyer to eat then the orange.. orange is the les paul

  • U SUCK SOOO MUCH...

  • i prefer the wammy bar on my ukelele

  • you gotta be kidding mate.....you ain't gonna abuse that toggle switch on PRS like a tremelo arm !!

  • Seriously? Whichever brand is better is completely up to the player. If you want thrash/shred metal. Probably Ibanez. If you want good rockabilly or Jazz. Gibson (not the way this joker wanked on his). Blues/rock. Fender. I prefer Strats because of the hollow, crisp tones it can produce. Some people may prefer a Les Paul because of the compressed, twangy sound (also found in teles) you can get. Jeff Beck: Strat. Les Paul: Les Paul. Both great guitarists. Neither is better because of their guitar

  • @jonahtran1 Jackson is better for metal. Ibanez is surprisingly versatile

  • @MegaMrPieman ibanez is better for everithing... in metal: by far bro

  • @MegaMrPieman That's true. I've heard Ibanez be used for styles from blues to metal. But you are right.

  • what's better for rock ?(foo fighters,the smiths,deftones,strokes)

fender stratocaster or gibson les paul?

  • bolt on actually is better for sustain.. great knowledge. There is no loss of vibrations with the transference as there is when you use glue

  • kevin spacey

  • honestly i love prs guitars but this les paul...trash

  • gosh he's so enthusiastic

  • What exactly model of strat is that??

  • my favorite bands dont use les paul (nirvana and chili peppers) therefore i wont use a les paul

  • Wtf? Not even a real gibson?

  • Gibson sucks !

  • will everyone just fucking stop arguing

its all a fucking matter of opinion

the point of the video is just to show you

    not give an opinion

  • The headstock has nothing to do with sustain, the only things that affect sustain are the pickups and the body.

  • it's what?

  • This dickbag doesn't even review the Strat. Thumbs down.

  • @pnickel000 That's because Tobias is a paid PRS endorser. Thanks for watching a PRS ad for purchasing their Gibson copy. Only a Gibson Les Paul will do.

  • sucks

  • Sorry but Bolt-ons have the most sustain, neck-thrus have the shortest. Set neck is in the middle. I'm tired of bolt-ons not getting their proper due. In addition to having more sustain, they also produce superior harmonic overtones compared to other neck designs.

  • This is fukin bias look at the tone Hendrix had and he played CBS strats with single coils and he had fukin wildest fatest tone ever. This is bias

  • i m a les paul player and always be

  • Poor strings... :'O

  • Look what the Strat Can't do haha the strat paved the way dude

Yeah I'm a strat player lol

  • Strat has the better blues tone and a sharper tone (good for blues and classic rock), Les Paul is better for a crunch tone with its humbucklers and a better heavier tone for hard rock and metal. To me I love the strat because I play a lot of blues.

  • Wtf happened to playing the strat

  • I like how he name drops players in support for the PRS single cutaway style by naming Gibson players. He didn't even name players that use PRS.

  • Way to talk shit about the Strat man..... I hope you're proud of yourself.

  • PRS is better than Gibson in my opinion, @guitarboyy23, because they are almost always tonally superior. Just me though.

  • omg,. what a boooring voice

  • Antes de comparar estas dos bestialidades de guitarras, comprate una mano derecha ;)

  • This video only exists for anal retentives that don't realise IT'S THE PLAYER,

NOT THE GUITAR. Your playing sounds like a drunk in a pawn shop!

  • This video only exists for anal retentives that don't realise IT'S THE PLAYER,

    NOT THE GUITAR.

  • Alejandro Dolina xD

  • "wow, what a difference....."

  • @twiggymac

you are incorrect, my friend. Les Paul designed both the Les Paul and the SG. He designed NEITHER of them as a RESPONSE to anything. they have this thing called the internet, it's filled with info... do a little research BEFORE you post next time.

  • @tpadgett2 @tpadgett2 Actually he's right. Gibson originally turned Les Paul's design down. It was only after Fender started making a success out of their electric guitars that Gibson then went back to Les Paul to ask for his design. Maybe you should do a little research before you post next time.

By the way Les Paul didn't design the SG. Gibson designed the SG based on the Les Paul. It was originally named after Les Paul, but he didn't like the design so GIbson took his name off of it.

  • @fletchers4 Wrong again. You even just stated yourself that Gibson decided to put it out after the success of the Tele... but Les Paul designed it BEFORE then. And the whole thing about the SG being called the Les Paul was due to a disagreement Les was having with Gibson. Seriously, do some fucking research before you open your 14 yr old mouth. Dumbass.

  • @tpadgett2 Yes, I did say Gibson put the Les Paul out after the Tele. And yes, I did say Les Paul designed it before then. What exactly is your point? "Les Paul himself did not care for the new design, and requested the removal of his name from the new model" from Wikipedia. And before you start with the W1kip3dia Liieezzz maaaannn, provide some evidence to the contrary. Seriously, do some fucking research before you open your 14 yr old mouth. Dumbass.

  • @fletchers4 you have completely missed the point. My point was the Les designed the guitar on his own. Not as a response to anything Leo Fender was doing. My point had nothing to do with the marketing of EITHER instrument. It had to do with the DESIGN of the instruments. Pay attention dipshit. You should go practice on your epiphone some more. Maybe one day you'll be able to play the intro to voodoo child correctly.

  • @tpadgett2 The original comment was the the Les Paul or whatever was 'created' in response to the Tele. You said that comment was incorrect, to which I said it was correct. The design had nothing to do with it, it was to do with the creation of the instrument. Pay attention dipshit. How I play Voodoo Child is up to me, but my playing got me into one of the most respected music institutes in Europe. Maybe you should practice some more, & also learn the difference between 'creation' & 'design'.

  • @tpadgett2 I don't wish to exchange mindless insults with you over YouTube anymore. I hope you can see where the misunderstanding in this argument lies, as explained in my previous post. I apologise for any offence I caused as that wasn't my intention.

  • @guitarboyy23 The singlecut is not nearly as good as the custom 24, but I wish people didn't compare a SG to a Tele, or Strat to Les Paul. Although I'd say that The PRS Singlecut is higher quality than most Gibsons nowadays.

  • @TheFrostyDealer technically the les paul should be compared to the tele and the sg to the strat, the les paul and sg were both created as a response to the tele and strat respectively

  • Fuck this shit. Every guitar player knows that there isn'ta best guitar. It's just a preference. Jimi Hendrix used Fender right? Jimmy Page used les paul. It's about the feel and sound and not about the electronics.

  • I just flagged this video for its misleading title. The title should read "Buy a PRS and not a Fender Stratocaster"

    Plus the demonstration is rubbish.

  • @JorgeVasques ever tried a fender original 1962 strat? thats like the holy grail and leaves the les paul far behind

  • sorry but this video was dumb

i already don't like strats but it's more for the damn necks because they are so how should i put this cheap

but a prs is good but i wouldn't play one if i was gonna shell out that amount of cash i'd just go for a gibson or a music man

this video was blantly paid for by PRS because its a selling video

  • @daveed793 you're absolutely right, and you can get someone that makes guitars to make u a custom guitar that sounds better and is a lot cheaper than a les paul ;]

  • @guitarboyy23 Nott always. Its a prefence.

  • this might aswell have been posted on expert village

  • wow. what a difference. ...how i felt the excitement. cool! XD

  • you need to turn your amp up! i can hear you picking

  • Fuck PRS guitars they don't even make left-handed versions anymore! So I don't even look at them. Thank you Fender and Gibson for realizing how important but small your left-handed guitar players are. :)

  • 3:46 wow! what a difference!

  • anyone notice his lisp?

  • Arch Nemesis? My ass. They are two COMPLETELY different guitars giving COMPLETELY different tones! and this review is bias. very :P

  • Suhr = Greatest guitars man could create.

  • hell yeahh fender suck dick fuck fenders

  • that distortion ruins this whole video.

  • @Andy2theT I think the strat is better for the blues, just listen to Stevie Ray Vaughn. The epiphone is good too but I think the epiphone is better for other types of music. But if your going to buy the strat, buy American... American made strats are so much better.

  • Definitely a mexican strat when you can clearly see at 0:57 that is says "crafted in japan" on the back of the neck

  • nvm I AM 100% SURE THAT IS A MEXICAN STRAT

  • i think thats a mexican strat

  • 3:48 sounds like a gun ?

  • doesnt matter what kind of guitar is he playing, non of them can top a fucking les paul

  • I'm trying to decide whether to buy a fender standard strat or an epiphone les paul standard...both cost around $500 and have great reviews...which is better for blues!?!? Someone give me reasons please

  • @guitarboyy23 I disagree, I think PRS is a far better brand than Gibson is, especially now, Gibson has so drastically decreased in quality its ridiculous.

  • However this guitar was not a Gibson it was a PRS.

  • its a personal preference. if you want a more fluid sustain sound, a gibson. if you want a twangy sound, go with a fender. generally, a les paul can make you tear up, and a strat can make you clap your hands.

  • What an amazingly mindless and uninformed waste of bandwidth.

  • @guitarboyy23

I used to think that PRS was the bee's knees, and that Gibson was overpriced, broken-headstock nonsense. Then I played a Modern Eagle and A 1959 VOS Les Paul standard right after the other. While the '59 VOS wasn't anything special, it blew the modern eagle out of the water

  • idgf

but i love wut he did at the end lmao

  • PRS is sooooo far behind the awesomeness of the gibson les paul

  • @TheGodzillaGorilla if u compare the PRS Me Quatro and almost any gibson, theyre about the same. go look at some manufacturing tour videos. they use the wood called "10top wood, or top10wood" im not sure, meaning its the best wood out of the tree guarantee pure tone and stability of the density of wood.

  • @TheGodzillaGorilla yeah but the strat beats them all

  • @TheGodzillaGorilla

your crazy paul reed smith is the greatest luthier of decade

  • @TheGodzillaGorilla disagree completely! Each is its own unique character and flavor! you cant compare two instruments by different builders. Each is going to design its own and make it unique!

  • @guitarboyy23 its les paul STYLE guitar

  • @guitarboyy23 read the title it dosent say just les paul its an diffrent guitar in the les paul style

  • Comment removed

  • AWESOME video!!! For those who just learned that a bass has 4 strings and a guitar has 6 strings (actually not all of them, but that would be a major step on the learning curve)...

Try to play SRV on a Paul and Slash on a Strat if you are stupid enough.

  • Fenderrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Japanese stratocaster

  • fender has more sentimental value, they find a place in your heart, if someone hurt one of my fenders. He would have better results beating my girlfriend up

  • And an amateur guitar player like him should be reaching for the strat...

  • what a tool.

each guitar provides its own color/flavor, just like a PRS doesnt sound like a Stratocaster, or a Stratocaster sounds nothing like a Telecaster, the Les Paul and the SG are different as well. You can't do everything with a PRS- exampled by his shitty blues rhythm tone

  • strat > prs. prs guitars blow.

  • @rabbot85 the hell they do, step up from the SE series and they are amazing guitars, better than Gibson in my opinion.

  • This is like comparing chicken and beef... It's all about what you like and what your using it for.

  • @guitarboyy23 gibson wishes they could be PRS!!!

  • @bsskates333 and vise versa

  • the strat is much beter then the PRS

  • Also, it's biased because he is sponsored by PRS

  • Congrats GuitarDipshit, You're able to read the title.

  • This video don't compares Strat and PRS , this video is more of "buy PRS and don't buy Strat.... : / , he don't even play that strat :/ , REMEMBER guitars that are rivals and best of world are FENDER and GIBSON , Gibson can't give Fender tone and Fender can't give Gibson tone , but Gibson and Fender can give tones of all guitars of the world and all other are one step down from them.....make 1000000 videos if you want , thats it . bye.

  • @CursedheartMiki gibson is a douchy company that hasnt done anything useful to anyone in the last 30 years. PRS has far exceeded gibson in build quality and innovation.

  • @CursedheartMiki PRS is a step up from modern Gibsons in my opinion.

  • @CursedheartMiki what a closed minded comment. You're just buying the commercialism and brainwashing. Have you ever tried Schecter? Or ESP? Why the hell am I gonna pay 2 grand for a guitar that has less features than a 600 dollar guitar? Silly dude.

  • @MitchRulzWorld First to say , that i don't say in last comment. Another thing is , how can he compare Strat that have 3 singlecoils and PRS that have humbuckers , they are totaly diferent guitars -.- , and for your replay , i have tried Gibson les paul Traditional that is 2200 $ and Paul Reed Smith CE 22 that is sround 2200 $ maybe 100-200 $ more , and gibson feels little bit better (for me) , and you say to me that PRS of 600 $ can be better than Gibson -.- , i say again , its only my opinion.

  • @CursedheartMiki I would put Paul Reed Smith as a company up there with Fender and Gibson.

  • @CursedheartMiki yeah but i like prs double cut types, why would they try to copy a les paul and sell it for the same price, it's a dumb marketing technique

  • @CursedheartMiki You can get guitars that can get a respectable sound of both if you want that, people should just go out and test a bunch of guitars and find the one that suits them both, both the Strat and Les Paul are great guitars. I don't see the point in comparing them like it's some sort of competition. I can see that this would be useful for someone who can't decide which one to get but the comments just degrade into pointless arguing like everything in life has to be a competition

  • @CursedheartMiki Actually the last time Gibson was able to even compete with Fender was the 90s new Gibsons are trash in contemporary terms PRS probably is the only company that can rival Fender, I would say Gretsch, but they're owned by Fender.

  • not even a good match up because you only played the "les paul" and it isnt a les paul anyway as many have pointed out. just to be fair you should of played the strat aswell so we can see what it sounds like too.

  • Was it 2 hard do get an actual Les Paul? good vid though, but still if it had Gibson in it it would have been better:lol:

  • One word. Biased

  • this was boring

  • why he no play strat ]:

  • @mmmmmhotdogs cause the les paul is WWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better

  • @NXTneocube -.-

  • Its cool!

  • Why not just use an actual les paul? This guitar and an actual les paul are worlds apart in terms of tone imo.

  • @antiemo9 Same basic tone. Both styles are very far apart.

  • @4422michael True, based on my experience though the les paul has a much more wide open tone than the prs that I compared it to.

  • Comment removed

  • thnx mother fucker i sold my yamaha n got a les u own me a yamaha lespaul sucks basterd!

  • okay ur right okay okay but at least I'm not a son of a bitch not like you

  • The amp he is playing on is killing me.

  • What's the word that he tries to say at 2:27!!!!!???

  • 00:38 fall fall

  • The Strat's bolt on neck was not designed that way because it was easier to replace the neck. It was just cheaper to manufacture the guitar that way.

  • He should of used a Gibson les paul instead of that knock off

  • bolt-on or set , has nothing to do with sustain .

  • Sooooo.... it's a comparison of a humbucker based guitar with a single coil based guitar? I don't get it, what's the point of the video, they're both abysmally different types of guitar. Maybe PRS vs Les Paul and Strat vs Pensa or something like that, you know for the sake of objective comparison.

  • I Love how he says "wow, what a difference in a monotone and with no expression on his face! Lol

  • strat + les paul = prs custom 24

  • @cnarro890 Somewhat, I gotta say, somewhat. A bit more LP concentration in the mix, wouldn't you say?
