@CrazyBrianna78 Actually Oblivion, in Alton Towers was the first to have a 90 degree drop, it was built in 1998. BG Tampa wanted one a few years later and then BG Williamsburg got one too. Both the Tampa and Williamsburg parks are owned by the same company and both Shiekra and Griffon are made by B&M, a roller coaster manufacturer in Switzerland. Nobody copied off of anyone, calm down.

Griffon has a greater lateral drop that's even more spectacular when you ride the outer seats. Apollo's Chariot is a longer ride with thrills that include a pitch dark tunnel, loops and a couple of different drops that quickly throw you into turns. BGs other big coaster is the Loch Nest. It's got a few thrills, but the ride is over in a flash.

I rode all three back to back in Williamsburg, VA. Chariot made me a little dizzy each time.

Griffon was a little like base jumping.

i love this roller coaster. It's frightening because you can see the drop before they actually drop you. Apollo's Chariot would have been good, if i wasn't floating after the first 2 drops. I mean i literally couldn't feel the falls after the second fall...i think its because of the sucky safety buckle they have on apollo's chariot.

The drop on this isn't that bad compared to Apollo's Chariot. In fact Apollo's Chariot's first drop (of nine) is 5 feet longer. The Griffon's drop just looks more intimidating since it is vertical.

lol they've cracked down pretty hard on cameras. if they see you on the monitor as you're going up the lift and you have a phone or camera in your hand, they will STOP THE LIFT and tell you to put it away. i know this because i used to work there and i've done it :)
