  • i would love if you did a video for learning hiragana. thanks for the vids! they are great!

  • @darrenwouldgo

    I have this:

    /watch?v=UcVLxgrQqT0

  • Just found these, i think it would be cool to learn to speak Japanese, thanks so much for putting these up :)

  • Just dicsovered your channel and I'm watching from the beginning. Thanks for putting this up, it's really helpful! What is the difference between "ha" and "wa"?

  • Why "ha" instead of "wa" it gets confusing to pronounce

  • @benitofinito In Japanese, the particle 'wa' is written as は(which is actually the hiragana for 'ha') while it's being used as a particle, verses wa's hiragana-わ.

  • ok... I might have to watch this one a few times - "Hi from the back of the class"

  • THANK YOU, i'm the moron you were shooting for, you helped 1 person. ;)

  • ah man every time I hear "あの” it kills me because of the Spanish that I know. But it makes it that much easier to remember. Funny that.

  • mm not a moron, i just happen to find your videos very interesting :)

  • your videos are awesome man, really helpful for us Japanese morons :D Thanks a lot! Keep it up please!

  • yay i"m not the only hispanic trying to learn japanese

  • lol i fort you wer saying cojo

  • What's the "no" after anata wa?

  • Whaa, Holy cow! You have...bad...."like" ratings. These vids are really good though (saiko?) man, keep 'em coming.

  • Man, I just don't understand the difference between kono and kore at all D:

  • kore = this, it can stand alone as a subject or object.

Ex. This is mine. I like this.

Kore wa watashi no mono desu./Watashi wa kore ga suki desu.

kono =this, but you need to indicate another noun.

Ex: This book is mine. = Kono hon wa watashi no desu.

Notice that you need something after kono, but nothing after kore. Get it?

  • @Gimmeaflakeman

For this book is mine, can I say " watashi no hon desu" ?

  • ima use this friday

  • @SvartaClothsLover People use the slang "ima" for "I'm gonna" all the time. But pronouced "ee-ma", ima means "now" in Japanese.

  • Worverine xP for some reason to me japanese words blend in together but bet thats just because im not fluent so ...yea (o.o) im just browsin youtube not takin lessons >'') lol or am i

  • At the end there you said "Ningyo" and I'm guessing you mean doll, but I think it also means mermaid (at least phonetically). Are you just supposed to figure out the meaning or are there tricks?

And the 'this-here' and the 'that-there' occurs in english as well. I suppose if you are pointing at something away from you, you'd say "Whose is that?" or if it was beside you, you'd say "Whose is this?". Is there a difference?

  • Figure it out through context! :)

  • Oh I understand! The text explanation made me realize better XD

Thank you, I had that idea, but never acutally recognized.

I'll keep on watching your vids, so I can improve my japanese somehow... although 'till now it has only confirmed somethings, the more the merrier XD

Thank you for you good work (Y)

  • このビデオは"educational"です!

I don't know how to say "educational" ..

    "educational" は日本語で何といますか?

    I'm trying! ... xD

  • I like your smile.

    and these lessons.

    Awesome.

    :3

  • Yeah. You have a nice smile ^^

  • That sounds kind of creepy, but okay.

  • Thanks! Now I know what "ano" means... kind of a common word...

    MVHH

  • Thanks as always. I appreciate your using the kanji in your writing.

  • Brave man for taking on the sore/are distinction. Sixteen years I've been at this and I still tend to lean towards sore instead of are regardless.

  • Cercl.

  • Hey Victor here is an idea. I'm not sure if you have already done this topic or not. But you could do 'you, me, them, us/we.' Keep up the good work!

  • Ahhh thats like the first thing we learned in my japanese classes ^_^ Good idea to teach the morons about this!

  • Thanks so much these are great!

  • Perfect speed. The other series you did was a little too fast but these are a good pace.

Although I must say that after paid date and Oedipus lessons, これ、それ、あれ、この、その、&あの seem almost ill-fitting!

Again though, love these videos. Even when its stuff I l already know its nice to have it refreshed.

  • nice vid, some good info =o)

  • really good little videos, good for morons, good for complete begginers, probably good just for anyone trying to expand their japanese vocabulary :)

  • This may be treading on thin ice (because of the well known availability of Google), but since we are all morons here, maybe you could tell us about the various uses of "desu ka". If I'm not mistaken (which I probably am) it can be used for more than just "is that".

  • Desu is like an equals sign.

Kore ha hon desu. - This = pen

And ka just makes the sentence a questions

Kore ha hon desu ka? - Does this = pen?

  • So "Dave desu" means "I equal Dave"?

  • Yeah, pretty much.

    I am Victor.=Bikuta desu.

  • They don't have the V sound in Japanese?

  • "wa" :P That's a V for you, hehe.

  • Yes. You would change it a bit so it would sound good in English, so "I am Dave."

It doesn't actually mean "equal" it's just a way that a lot of people like it to be explained.

  • Yeah, not exactly. Debu!

  • This is really, really hard!

  • Thank you so much for these videos, Victor! I reviewed this stuff a long time ago, but it is so nice getting a refresher on it. Especially when you rarely if ever speak Japanese.

  • Just a quick correction note on the title of this series. I think you losing your abilities in your native tongue - you write "for" when you should have written "by".

  • Hahahahahaha! Cleeeeeeever

  • 死ね!

  • For someone who professes to hate Japanese you sure invested a lot of time to learn some, Cappo.

  • i forgot to whipe my ano

  • I've been watching old Mizoguchi, Obe and Teshigahara films. It would be of interest to me, and maybe to others, what kinds of television shows and movies Japanese today watch. I'm a big fan of Koreeda films, but I have no idea if he's popular at all in Japan. Peace.

  • you are very helpful, and inspiring.

i want to learn the whole language now!

PS cookie monster is the man

  • sweet ty just a opinion... you could do a video on how to say talk speak and listen... or a vid on run walk and jog :D

  • Its really weird that the Google ad's on your videos are for free French classes on eduFire.

  • That is weird.

  • Sore wa hentekorin desu yo. :)

    Sore = that

    Hentekorin = weird

    desu = is

yo = shows emphisis (you know) also used when you expect the person to agree with you. (right?)

  • Flash cards would be nice. Do you know of a web page that has just vocab? (English word) = (Japanese word (romaji)) = (Japaneses word (hiragana)).

  • I LOVE U VICTOR!!!!!
