@koala2093 dude I feel exactly the same way... I wish all of us teens who felt that way could just have our own happy hippie lives with music and beautiful people and NO SHIT KICKERS! Seriously I am 17 also, and sometimes I just wonder... I never understand why things are so dull now! This is the reason I go to music fests!
I hope to see the day that people will wake up and resurrect the spirit of peace, selflessness, love, understanding and active support for a better world. The way things look now is that my generation will go down in history as "the quiet generation". Sadly, activism has moved from the streets to the computer screens. Everyone is anonymous, everyone says they give a crap, but nobody - including me - dares to venture into the real world anymore...
I totally agree with you! Rap and hip hop is the absolute worst excuse for "music" these days..low class music for low class people..I guess the excuse of the kids are products of their environment is somewhat valid...All you hear these days is shit music by untalented whores like Britney Spears..90% of the young people today have their brainless heads closed up with their only focus on twitter and facebook..walking around texting and paying attention to nothing...
@MrBrianhi dont talk about music you know nothing about, every piece of music has great meaning snd value to its people. im a music producer and ibet you couldnt make a decent rap or hip hop song. it takes great skill and a will power to make any type of music. i agree with you to an extent because music has changed over the years but you cant just down a genre of music like that because ibet you have some of waynes tunes in your ipod.... BITCH
@xxStatikBeatzTv If rap is so great, then why do they mostly just 'sample' other peoples music. Sample...that's a laugh. I think it's called stealing. Rap IS a poor excuse for music. Producing other peoples work into something new must be really challenging. LMFAO. My 10 year old nephew can do that.
Well sir sorry, but you know shit about the subject.
While very early hip hop bands like Sugarhill Gang played with accompaniment of instruments, it was Afrika Bambaata who started to sample Kraftwerk's hits.
Then around 1988 sampling become very elaborated style of composing by works of Dr. Dre and Terminator X. After the '88 you can notice rising tendency of composing hip hop songs for "real" instruments and using samples to enrich the compositions f.e: Wu-Tang, Cypress Hill etc
@MasterrFlamaster I know what shit is. Today's hip hop is crap. Wow, that rhymes with rap. If you think it has any musically merit, then you proved my point. It's shit, crap, talentless. I've been in the music business for 35 years. I've seen a lot of shit. Rap/Hip hop is the shittiest. Without question. So you you think its good, you probably think hot dogs are a better cut of meet than filet mignon. Sampling = stealing, bottom line.
@MasterrFlamaster Maybe is this was an "art" thread, I would. Stealing is stealing. Whether it's Warhol or Lil' Wayne or Moby for that matter. So if I were to go into someone's house and take a TV and I say "No, I'm not stealing, I'm just sampling your TV" then it's OK? I don't think so. BTW, I also thought it was a big laugh when Weird Al Yankovic "sampled" Coolio's Gangster's Paradise, which he "Sampled" Stevie Wonders' Pastime Paradise and then he gets all upset at Weird Al for "sampling" him
But despite all that I have to say that not every hip hop artist steal the notes. For me interesting is what you can hear on Public Enemy's albums. It's like the collage from infinite number of songs, it's like recycling. And Wu-Tang? Samples appears in one or two songs (except for movie quotes which make an atmosphere) and rest is composed by the producer. I'm not mentioning A Tribe Called Quest or Cannibal Ox, coz they don't use samples at all.
@yoyox19 It's contradictory for someone who's listening to "love filled music" to be DESPISING kids who are into rap. I think you need to open your eyes to the bigger picture. How many of these kids who you hate have actually been exposed to this music? People are victims of their environment. More importantly though it's about taste. Whilst I absolutely love classic music such as this, I do not despise ANYBODY for not liking it and I don't think that's what this music is about.
@yoyox19 You're missing the whole point of the 60's culture and spirit. They believed in freedom. For everyone. If someone like rap music, they should be allowed to. What you're writing, is like saying: "Give us world peace, or we'll kill you!". Live and let live. :)
Anybody noticed, the best part of country Joe, along with Jefferson Airplane, Blue Cheer, , in fact all of the major 60's West Coast bands was their rhythm section??
They kept it all together when it was falling apart around them???
@TheGrownUpAdult Thats not nice. Everyone has their right to listen to whatever music they want and comment about it. You should be glad at least some kids now days still have taste in music. Me, Im 19 years old and I love Hip Hop, Country, Jazz, Rock, Funk, Reggae, Opera, Orchestra, everything basically. I think grumpy old men like you should have their comments removed for the negativity. This is a video about Woodstock. Its all about PEACE AND LOVE man. Smoke some weed, calm down & listen.
@TPBXDRicky420 I'm 16. Not a grumpy old man. And i do believe in peace and love, but it doesn't mean you should love everything and everyone you see. And sure, you buyin'? :)
@TheGrownUpAdult Then why does your channel say that you are 61 and why is your name grownupadult? And why would you right that previous comment if your a young fellow like you say you are? Anyways, dont judge people and have love for your fellow man and animals. We are all equal IMO. You dont have to love everything or one, but you should find a place in you heart for respect towards that person or thing. Remember that HATE is a strong word, and forgiveness is the key.
@TPBXDRicky420 The reason why i wrote 61 is because if a video contians even the slightest content of violence or something like that, i wouldn't be able to watch it, so i just picked a number. And my name; i just chose the first thing that flew into my head. And i do have love for my fellow man and animals, and i rarely judge people. And besides it was kind of a joke, with a pinch of my opinion. It would make no sense to withdraw someones rights, that's against all i stand for.
@TheGrownUpAdult You should have just put 18 and a different name. It gives the wrong message you see but I understand. I know what you mean about kids wanting to be back in the 60's but I dont blame them. Its good to see that what you believe in and stand for is just. You are on the way to enlightenment. I dont want to trample on any of your religious beliefs( I respect all of them) but I think you should smoke a bowl and watch the show Ancient Aliens. Blew my mind. Then do some research on NWO
@yoyox19 Calling 'rap' or 'hip-hop' music is like calling three broken eggs in a bowl, a cake. Two-thirds of the recipe are missing. Sure, there's rhythm... but that is all. @yoyox19 I'm 16 and I think you are totally right, I wish I was born in the 40s or 50s to experience all these great music and talents, specially to see the beatles, pink floyd, the doors, led zeppelin, the who, santana, etc...
I'm 17 and I wish so much that I could have grown up in the late 60s and early 70s. The music and people and culture were so beautiful. Everything just seems so synthetic and gross and there is no beautiful music anymore, and most of the kids are afraid to protest or stand out so they just do what everyone else wants them to do, but everyone is also just out to bring the others down. The kids are all shit-kickers these days
You're young, and you have so much chances in life. To see some videos on youtube and some dokumentary movies doesn't mean that you know everything about that. So thank that there's no Vietnam war, and make some friends, because there are many intelligent young people nowadays. I admire the 60's, i love the music, i love the feeling, and yes, I would like to go to Woodstock too, but I thank that I live right now, because I know, that there's so much left to discover. (and I'm 19)
@koala2093 I agree. I'm 14 and I love this music and the 60's 70's decade. Kids today listen to all this crap music and nothing compares to this stuff from the 60s and 70s.
I consider myself to be very lucky,I was at Woodstock.I was just 17,earler that summer I got to go to The Newport Rock concert, where I saw Zepplin live..I'm almost 60 now but those are my most treasured memories,

@yoyox19 LOl you despise---I see you don't understand the consept of the music of the 60s nor the intent of the experience. Feel sorry for you bro, you are one of the establishment. peace out.
I would have love to have been at Woodstock!!!!!!!!!!! Probably a great atmosphere aswell. Very little violence and friendly people. Nowadays at a rock concert you find many people looking for fights it's awful. I'm proud to be a pacifist. And I'm not just a pacifist cause I'm a pussy, I'm trying to inspire violent people around me. I think we should all have a go at that.
Got stoned with the Fish in Madison, 1968. Great concert. They still owe me a pack of Camels. Maybe not. I quite tobacco in '75. Just tobacco.........
@Fletch7453 We were in the Bay Area when woodstock occurred. Drove from Madison to Berkeley in 1955 Wonder Bread truck. Old bed bolted to roof for rack. After Seattle, Eugene, Portland & SF, we sold it and split up. Climbed Half Dome in Yosemite the night the astronauts landed on moon. High times in the '60s....
They cut out the Alan Fay part...

Hmmm maybe this way.
You probably think that I am 12 year old "gangsta" listening to Lil' Wayne and roaming in my room with golden chain on the chest.
No, I listen to hip-hop occasionally, I prefer jazz/classical.
BUT I think that there's no boundary in art.
Sampling=stealing?
You probably know what pop art is - Andy Warhol, James Rosenquist.
They also use products of mass culture to make new works, but you don't attack 'em, because they are regarded avant-garde artists?

Just tobacco.........

i love this riff. makes you want to go to woodstock(where,s a transporter when you need one)
Fletch7453 1 year ago
@Fletch7453 We were in the Bay Area when woodstock occurred. Drove from Madison to Berkeley in 1955 Wonder Bread truck. Old bed bolted to roof for rack. After Seattle, Eugene, Portland & SF, we sold it and split up. Climbed Half Dome in Yosemite the night the astronauts landed on moon. High times in the '60s....
