  • I wasn't serious either... didn't believe any of it, but evenso, great clip and would've liked to see the full show ------------- cheers.

  • @1958marky yeah, so would've I. thanks.

  • Gramps recorded this?! Wow... got on stage and right in their face -- how cool is that?

  • @1958marky read the description completely, it was just a joke.

  • I am so lucky to see this-so RARE! signed Craig Goldsberry/O'Briant

  • my 8 yo boy plays this song on drums

check it out on channel of user road2000ster

  • i wonder why ritchie couldn't cop the soul blues influence { as is claimed} If this is true - why then, did his 1st solo lp sound so bluesy in places ?

{if you dont like rock and roll , black sheep of the family , } I think the MK111 version of purple should have pumped out a couple more lps ....i think it was politics myself .

  • God couldn't make it better

  • Interesting early clip of a new, different, though ultimately fresher lineup. Note the juxtaposition of bass and guitar while the drums play their judgemental role. Particularly significant footage for a very early glimps of Blackmore's new hair piece. Rock on wiggy!

  • @ibeyoutu he didn't get his hair until Rainbow 1978/9. This was just a shorter style.

  • 1975 ? Before of After Jesus-Christ ?

  • @titustiti I'm sorry to disappoint, but it's after.

  • Where is the complete clip?

  • @folladordeprostis this IS the complete clip.

  • Il primo a mettere Non mi piace verrà cancellato all'anagrafe.

The first person who put "I don't like" will be deleted to the registry office.

  • YES VERY RARE.LIKE A PURPLE DIAMOND.THANX A MILLION FOR THIS MAN.

  • 0 people need to be struck by lightning.

  • stupendooooooooo...dove hai trovato questp gioiellooooo??

  • @jonlord75 secreti personali, non posso rivelarli. :P

  • Nice nice NICE MAN!!

This is by far their best song in my opinion, thanks for uploading, these videos are treasures in the rock archives

  • Is there someone in the world who has this video in good quality ?

  • Coverdale, in this version, is singing better than he did on the record!

    Awesome version!

  • Deep Purple is my favourite band and MK III my favourite lineup. I had the honour on July 19th 2008 to play Burn, Stormbringer, Mistreated, Gettin' Tighter and You Keep On Moving live onstage with Glenn Hughes. He was a great guy and put on an amazing performance! A musical highlight of my life that's for sure!

  • How well they interact musically in this version , they were very inspired that day.

  • It's great to watch how confident David's performances have become. Only a year before at the California Jam he was using the mic stand almost as a comfort blanket, now look at him here, without the stand and totally in control. Great clip even taking the quality into account.

  • as much as i love gillan and all that, coverdale's version of Deep Purple is definitely my favorite

  • Blackmore, Coverdale and Hughes. If God created a band it would be Deep Purple. This is their best song: thumbs up only please.

  • OMG - Ritche Blackmore is one of the GREATEST guitar players of ROCK, and David Coverdale is AWESOME !!! Also Jon Lord on the Keyboards --- DEEP PURPLE STILL RULES !!!

  • Cool! Thanks for sharing. I always loved Ritchie's solo on the original recording.

  • actually, thank you for watching. yeah, I liked it too.

  • Oh this is great! Have never seen Stormbringer on video, except for that strange (terrible) edit of Mk.4 in Japan with the Mk.3 album track dubbed on! This i the real deal. Who cares about the quality? It sounds awesome. PS Deep Purple invented Heavy Rock, not Metal.

  • I think I read that someone (in Belgium?) recorded this for private use per VCR, it was a part of some german TV program which dealt with different topics, so this was not a complete concert broadcast...

It is included IN COLOR in the "History Hits & Highlights" documentary from 17:12 to 17:54, with more footage of the start of the song, and it fades out at 0:38 (here). They dubbed an interview on it, with the music in the background.

It should be from Cologne, 29 March 1975

  • Definitely it's the great Ritchie Blackmore who hasn't failed us die-hard fans...RITCHIE RULZ!, btw, Dave is super funky, he's great too!

  • Awesome!!! Definetly, But the recording looks creepy XD

  • more than creepy, it's crappy. even for '75. :I

  • Deep Purple "History, Hits & Highlights '68-'76 DVD 15 GIGA BY TORRENT MADE IN JAPAN LIVE CONCERT YES YES YES

  • German magazine at that time informed the press in detail how the groupies were selected during the concert! and had been brought to the hotel rooms. Special wishes from each band member were applied. Brought big, big troubel for all band members when they went home to their families.

  • We all know the quaity of this video sucks, but still a professional filming, not audience recording!,was the rest of the concert filmed???

  • Sad was not in the new DP dvd history & highlights, there is only a small fragment in the documentary

  • Awesome.

  • This video exist in colour and good quality, as one can see in a fragment at the DVD History, Hits & Highlights

  • 1975 awsome :D

  • i can´t understand why we have a great footage of the california jam from 74......and we can´t get a decent footage of the MKIII from 75.....i would love to see for example the LIVE IN PARIS 75 concert

  • This is great! Ritchie is awesome, Thanks for posting.

  • Now look I know the Germans screwed us over in the war, and every football penalty shootout since, and their athletes cheated wholesale, and they inflicted Kraftwerk on us - but I think it's about time we let them have colour film.

And camera's that operate on electricity, not gas, from post 1946.

Only kidding, thanks for posting, it's more intriguing & involving due to the quality, and Ritchies on form here.

  • you're from U.K.? I thought u were from poland/israel! just kidding! I appreciate your comment, but at first I was like "what the hell is he saying?" lol ;)

  • "inflicted kraftwerk on us", "cameras that operate on electricity, not gas" - you are fucking hilarious! seriously, I'm not being sarcastic. that's some good wit!

  • And now that Ballack 2 days ago miscreated the penalty against an English keeper I guess who have some of the self-respect back? - also only kidding, best rgds from Germany

  • 1975 after or before Christ ? ;)

  • ROTFLOLMAO! XD before! jk

  • Thank you for this rare video even though the quality is... prehistoric !

  • yes, in that time even the dinosaurs existed! XP

  • remember, how can ur grandpa travel to and from the stage in a split second? lol. who else was recording u know and which camera was ur grandpa?

  • check a lil' the description. Some1 before you felt insulted when he found out was a joke!

  • lol

  • Genial!!

  • 20 años buscando unvideo de esta gira,,,,,,,por fin.

ACOJONANTE, gracias al que lo ha subido al youtube.

  • Great mark 3, great.. great!!!

  • Great upload ! This is probably the only known footage of this song with Blackmore .

  • pure rock n roll

  • what was this concert and why this video was in black and white

  • It's incredibly moot. Grand Funk were called heavy metal - although Don Brewer likes the description "hard rock" as more applicable. It's still rock & roll to me.

  • I don't get arguing over whether DP was metal or Sabbath was metal or what have you. Metal didn't just happen, it came from somewhere. A big part of the formula was Plant's vocals from Zep, Blackmore/Lord's speed, precision & Bach influenced chord progressions, plus Sabbath's love of minor keys, strong riffs, and doom-n-gloom imagery. They were certainly heavy metal for their time, now they are sort of proto-metal. Listen to Rainbow's Light in the Black then Maiden's Prowler. Not very different.

  • So they let your Gramps get 2 feet from Ian Paice?...on stage?...I'd buy THAT for a dollar...

  • you're smarter than i thought. >:)

  • Nice! Cheers.... :0)

  • Coverdale and Hughes at its best!

See too the clip "Bec Blau".

  • man, this is COOL. beautiful guitar solo and guitar sound

  • You have the cooolest gramps, ever, Bro. I don't care how whack the sound and vid are...he was friggin' THERE and he can prove it and give you a small taste of what real rock is like.

Coverdale is fine, here. I preferred Gillian, but Dave is great at what he does. Stop crackin' on him. Blackmore was weeks away from leaving and it was probably hell being in a touring band with "Blackers" being a total shite.

  • i think it was obvius that ritchie was the best in this performance, and coverdale the worst! do you also agree with me, people?

  • Unfortunately for Coverdale, i have to agree. he's a great singer, but his voice changed during his time with Purple. It was still good, but i dont feel that he was as 'tight' during later performances

  • no i don't agree

  • 2:13 on is what separates Blackmore from every other guitarist out there. SO much soul. there are other great guitarists, but this has an elusive quality that i cant seem to find elsewhere

  • That's right, only Blackers sounds like Blackers. There's only one God and that's Blackmore.

  • I uploaded this video too

  • CLASSIC HEAVY METAL YEAH

  • its hard rock :/

  • while you are correct, this song has alot of metal traits in it. but what ever deep purple is tight

  • why don't you all cut it out? it's both of the streams! if possible, it may become even thrash! metal!

  • its heavy metal.

  • lol.noo its fuckin hard rock, black sabbath is the heavy metal not purple....

  • black sabbath and deep purpleare both too light to be heavy metal. nwobhm bands and metallica are real metal. also ozzy(in solo career). there are also other metal bands, but neither BS nor DP are metal.

  • metallica or megadeth is thrash metal. ozzy makes heavy and glam metal.

deep purple is the real heavy metal and ozzy's black sabbath is doom metal.

dio's sabbath is heavy metal too.

  • riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, suuuuuuuuuure! *cough*like hell*cough*

  • deep purple is pure hard rock dude..its not heavy metal dude...

  • I think that u dont know what heavy metal is. hard rock is led zeppelin.

  • its fucking heavy metal man.

  • maybe he taped it off West German telly while he was there? In a hotel room. Really badly.

  • Presumably your gramps had a three-camera van with him on vacation? ;-)

  • yes, the goverment gave it to him. lol

  • Stunning! The energy from the band and the camera angles are excellent. Imagine an entire show filmed like this...

  • kinda crappy.

  • I meant if you could dig up the original tapes which presumably are not b/w and don't have wobbly tape errors.
