It is a great place to visit. What was the reason you went there? Not many people visit the amber mines, not even Dominicans who live as close as Santiago or Sosua. As you may know, there was an Amber Road in Europe, that was much the same as the Silk Road. Amber was used as a heal-all by the Druids and ancient Greeks. The English word electron comes from the Greek word for amber. The amber in the DR is supposed to be 20 million years old. In Bavaria it is 500 million years old.
