  • Great improvisation by Rude on this. A brutal looking move even today - incredibly high impact and brutal in 1989-90. And all he did was slide Warrior down his legs, keeping his opponent protected while in an extremely prone position.

  • COOOOL!!!!! Ganso Bomb looks like a Great Move :) It's a Great Move To Put in my WWE 12 Game and make it as a finisher on my XBOX 360 :)

  • @zZHighTimeZz. @Redmage24. U DUMB FUCKS U DON'T KNOW U TALKING ABOUT FUCK U BOTH!!! Redmage24 U A DUMB ASS EVEN MORE IT WAS MENT TO HURT TOWARDS WARRIOR IT'S A SPORT IT'S SUPOOSE TO HURT SO FUCK U BOTH!!!!

  • @TheRicanBoy It's not supposed to hurt you fucking idiot, wrestling is aSCRIPTED, not a sport, get your fucking facts straight. I have wrestling training, and you are trained NOT to hurt your opponent, idiot.

  • @TheRicanBoy PS: talking in all caps is a sign that you are a retard

  • I think Warrior thought Rude was going for the Canadian Backbreaker, notice how Warrior's body moves to the shoulder of Rude...IMO it was a miscommunication between both of them

  • Rude was truly a consummate professional in the ring. He was even willing to protect a poor worker like the Ultimate Warrior.

  • The only time Warrior looked good in the ring was when wrestling guys like Rude and Savage, these two guys could really sell and make anyone look good.

  • @zZHighTimeZz And Hogan.

  • @PhilBrooksSES Iam not sure if you mean that Hogan made warrior look good or if you are refering to Savage and rude making Hogan look good? Hogan and Warrior had an ok match at Wrestlemaina but their 2nd wcw match was terrible, both Hogan and Warrior needed someone who could compliment their styles in order for them to have a good match.

  • @zZHighTimeZz I am saying Hogan made Warrior look good. If you think WM VI was just an "okay" match, then you are as blind as Ray Charles.

  • @PhilBrooksSES The reason it worked so at wrestlemaina was because of carefull planning and yes it was an "ok" or good match but it was "no classic" i beleive Ric Flair even stated the same. Their 2nd stint in WCW was a mess because there was no control and thats mainly due to Hogan being allowed to do what ever wanted in WCW. Hogan wasnt a great wrestler but he had tons of charisma and like i said he needed someone to compliment him in order to look good.

  • Actually the jumping bomb angels used powerbombs in 1989.

But im pretty sure that rude went for a piledriver and warrior shifted his weight because he mistook rudes piledriver as an attempt to the hangman vice (or whatever this move was called)

its too bad that rude didnt break warriors neck with the move

  • If there was anyone ever more deserving of a Ganso Bomb....I have yet to see him.

  • Warrior deserved to be dropped on his head. One of the sloppiest wrestlers ever.

  • Rick Rude is one of the best wrestlers of all time.

  • @undisputedgreatest rude was a dangerous drug addict that almost hurt this guy

  • @NAYellowjackets umm no warrior sand bagged him and rude gave him his receipt

  • @NAYellowjackets Rude was very talented and a very safe person to work with but accidents happen. Warrior was a terrible worker and like i said in my previous comment, he made warrior look good in a match. Warrior on the other hand did hurt alot of people, he even managed to hurt Andre The Giant by being careless with a clothesline and Andre hurt him back.

  • This move once was referred as "Reverse Slider" and originated from a botched piledriver in wich the deliverer was unbalanced forward and it happened.

  • Rude delivered brutal mat burn to Warrior's shoulders.

  • did anyone else hear the hollow sound when Warrior's head hit the mat? Just an observation...

  • "Ganso bomb". Ganso translates to "Goose" in Spanish. That's crazy.

  • Comment removed

  • @hector17dead "Gansou" in Japanese means "original". In this context it's a Japanese term, idiota.

  • watch this is slow-mo u will see he protected him. this would break someones neck if u did it for real... only his shoulders hit the canvas. the commentary just hype it but look at the reality in slo-mo

  • the ravishing one was awesome!

  • He looks a lot like Jake Robberts.

  • @Corpsealanche

one of the first wrestling figures i got was a rick rude figure. i thought it was jake roberts at first. when i got roberts they looked pretty similar so i decided to make them a tag team.

  • @radicalman33 ha, nice.

  • is that the wcw commentator talking?!?

  • @LCWvids yes Tony used to work for WWE before joining WCW

  • [Schiavone]THIS IS THE GREATEST REVERSE TOMBSTONE IN THE HISTORY OF OUR SPORT![/Schiavone]

  • they really need to bring back steroids and cocaine into wrestling.

  • @dchockeygoali07 That's the only thing they kept; just look at the muscled freaks like HHH, Randy Orton, John Cena, Ezekiel Jackson, heck even that pencil called Cody Rhodes bulked up!

  • @pr0wl3r666 i think it's all HGH now, i'm not sure the WWE tests for that yet; just like the NFL doesn't.

  • @dchockeygoali07 They do test for that

  • @dchockeygoali07 they still have them, the sWellness Policy is a fucking laugh, it's just there to get the media off their backs. You think if Triple H failed a piss test they wouldn't cover it up?

  • Breaking News...Bin Laden Is DEAD!!!

  • @DragonHeart613 dumbass he died years ago.

  • @nexivdr No, he did just die on May 1st. You're thinking about Saddam Hussain.

  • Just by watching this video, I'd say Rude was going to give Warrior a standard piledriver. But for whatever reason, Warrior let go of Rick's legs. So Rude improvised a way to hit the move and protect Warrior. Note how Warrior's head hits Rude's thighs first before sliding down and hitting the mat, greatly reducing the impact. Bottom line: Rude was being a consummate professional and protecting his opponent.

  • @Redmage24 Good cover by Rude, and obviously he was a master of his craft and could improvise the old school way. But I'm surprised he didn't turn into a safer move like a pancake or just dump him. Always scary when you (almost) drop someone on their neck/head.

  • @Redmage24 true, he could just have done what lesnar did to holly., but he was a true pro.

  • @Redmage24 Correcto.

  • @Redmage24 It's because Warrior had a notorious reputation for sandbagging his opponent's moves

  • @SadisticScott Yeah, and moves like that show it. It's amazing that they wanted this guy to lead the company. Even more so that Hogan got that match at Wrestlemania 6 out of him.

  • @Redmage24 And if you saw how Warrior press slammed Hennan after losing. You'd see how he never showed his brothers any of that consideration.

  • @nitramletnan I think I've seen the press slam you're talking about in Self Destruction of Ultimate Warrior. It was pretty nasty looking as I recall. Like he gave Bobby no time to prep for the fall or anything. The Brain said the man was dangerous and I believe him.

  • Check out the arcade games "Matmania" or "Mania Challenge" . That's a variation of the piledriver sometimes called the reverse piledriver. Very dangerous oldschool move. It was banned in the WWF even before the piledriver. It's NOT botch!

  • People forget Rick Rude wrestled in Japan for a while. This would be a standard maneuver. Nasty, but standard

  • this is a normal move in japan

  • just looked sloppy, whatever it was supposed to be.

  • hate the warrior. dude no-sells like a chump.

  • @deathonaburrito2 Also no Wrestling ability. lol

  • @StanKingston420

    definitely agree there.

  • It's really a kneeling martinete.

  • Rude went for a powerbomb, but Warrior cinched for a piledriver. Most wrestlers would have let it go and either retry or bypass the spot, but great improvisation by Rude by changing it up into a sheer drop powerbomb and bracing Warrior's shoulders with his legs.

Meanwhile, a 27-year old Kawada watched the footage and thought to himself, "If I were ever in that situation, I'd drop the f*cker on his head".

  • @guysanchez lmao agree with you 100% rude was VERY professional about it. This is the kind of guy you would dream of working with as a pro-wrestler because you know he has your back and yea about kawada I think you hit the nail on the head

  • @guysanchez @guysanchez lmao agree with you 100% rude was VERY professional about it. This is the kind of guy you would dream of working with as a pro-wrestler because you know he has your back and yea about kawada I think you hit the nail on the head.

  • @guysanchez Rude didn't go for a powerbomb. that move wasn't even used back then. He was going for a piledriver. He used that move many times in his matches, even against the Warrior. This time for some reason it looks like Rude was holding him too high when he brought him up and the Warrior didn't want to be dropped on his head so he clinched, and we see what happend

  • I hated it...that the Ultimate gaylord...never got pinned....He even left the wwf one time...because he had to loose against taker...What a dweeb...So many good wrestlers died...but this shitface still lives...bah bah...there isn no justice...it seems. And pls watch the Warrior now...you laugh your but off.....after the sprint(yes..he does the same shit..after 25 years) to the ring...he is fucking excausted...so lol to see....pls watch it..and cry

  • It's not a Ganso Bomb. A Kneeling Piledriver to be correct.

  • @manjifanhism Its a Ganso bomb. What the heck is a kneeling pile driver? The Ganso Bomb was executed here so gthat Warrior would not break his neck, but the move was still a Ganso Bomb.

  • @taekwon3000 An old move that they used to do. It's just a varitation of the basic Piledriver coming down on the knees Rude did. But somehow Warrior messed up big time.

  • @manjifanhism Ohh you mean the reverse tombstone piledriver. Ok got it. But if that was the case Warrior would had been in position for a traditional piledriver which is where he botch. Rude drop him in a Ganso Bomb but protected Warrior with his knees.

  • @taekwon3000 Sorry, but no, you are wrong. A ganso bomb is a sheerdrop powerbomb. It is the move that Lou Thesz created when he botched a piledriver (from what I've heard, never seen that one). It lands the opponent on the BACK OF THE HEAD, whereas a piledriver on that position inevitably lands the opponent on the top.

  • In terms of WWE stiffness, this could not have been done anymore professionally: It still looks really strong, but it probably hurt Warrior at all. Kudos to Rude.

  • Rick Rude was my favorite heel. He could never get a pin fall victory over the Ultimate Warrior in any westling organization that they wrestled in.

  • @MASSIECJR WrestleMania 5 called, and told me you need to watch it.

  • @MDG248 Yeah, I may need to watch that because I cant recall Rude ever beating the Warrior by pinfall. Let me look in my archives... and I will get back to youl.

  • @MASSIECJR Lol look at what archive? Everyone knows Rude pinned Warrior at the biggest show of the year Wrestlemania with this one being WM5.

  • @taekwon3000 Since you guys are know it alls, did Bret Hart ever face Rick Rude in their careers?

  • @MASSIECJR umm newbie, go watch Mania 5, your boy was PINNED.

  • @Cobretti20001 Yes, Rude did pin the Warrior. How did I not remember that? :-)

  • I have this PPV on dvd, and on vhs. I thought all the matches on this were very good, especially this match. I guess the reason why it was so good is because this is when the wrestlers actually "wrestled", instead of talking for 90 mintues of a two-hour show.

  • @Mightymopar1973 And the big focus and center of the world was winning that match. Not to try to hurt, embarrass, etc and make some kind of major storyline out of it.. the storyline were in the moves.

  • @at1212b And that is true. Back then, at least a "run in" was looked as "Holy crap! Look whos headed to the ring!" Now its more like, "Oh not this shit again". It happens too much, and the matches are too short, mostly due to trying to cram too much into a 2-hour show. When prime time wrestlling was airing, it seemed that more was in those two hours, of course that was taped from different arenas.

  • awesome ganso bomb!! rick rude one of the best!!!!

  • Credit to Rude for protecting Warrior's head on that - not that it would have damaged much in that empty skull even if he hadn't. Rick Rude was hella underrated - he should have had a major championship run in WWF.

  • Gawd, how humiliatng

  • good move

  • Flashback to 1990-I kinda liked it when I was in this 5% minority as a wrestling fan-I was born a heel man. The first match i recall seeing on tv ever was Terry Funk over Brisco for the straps. (It was probably just clips on weekly tv, not sure.) I went nuts for reasons, 36 years later, i still can't explain.

That being said, Rick Rude has to be one of the best of all time. Because he was the total package a lot of people took him for granted. His best trait:making dopes like UW look decent.

  • OMG schiavone in wwf!

  • I would have liked seeing Rude pinning the Warrior after that spike slam. It helped that Jesse cheered on Rude with so much zest.

  • @sandinyourshoes

    its because rude is heel.

heel wrestler = jesses fav wrestler.

  • @brokenwing36566754, yes, of course. Heels were always fun, especially when they outsmarted the nitwit Warrior as Rude did with that sensational spike slam.

  • Wow. Crowd was so dead until Warrior kicked out. It's like WWE today, except a bit better.

  • @RobVanDamkicksass They were not dead, just stgunned by what move Rude did on Warrior. Plus Rude was a real hated heel back then, the crowd would booed him but yet loudly pop the Warrior. Those weere the days.

  • @taekwon3000

They were pretty quiet. There was a small reaction, but not that much. I mean, if Rude was such a top heel and Warrior was such a top face, why didn't they have more of a reaction?

  • YAH!!...HIT THE MUSIC, BITCH!!!!

  • waaaaaow.

    Nice one.

  • Nicely done by Rude to not only say a potential botch, but to safely deliver a nasty looking move by putting Warrior's weight onto his knees. Look at the way Warrior slides down his knees in the end; nicely done by Rude.

  • ultimate warrior FTW

  • rude really should have had a run as wwf champ, he had a run in wcw as a main eventer but man, he could go, got great heel heat, was an awesome worker in the ring, and always brought his a game.

  • Easily one of the best heels ever. And, also, from what I understand, he was a tremendous human being.

  • It looked like a piledriver setup, but Warrior pushed off his legs, possibly thinking powerbomb. Rude used the piledriver regularity, so that was my first thought. Since Warrior was not tucked in for the piledriver, and too low for the powerbomb, Rude dropped to his knees. He could have done far worse in this situation. A credit to how good Rude really was. RIP Rick Rude.

  • I definitely would not be surprised if Warrior was sandbagging

  • i mean on commentary?

  • is that tony schiavone in wwe?

  • @deveryday1 yeah tony schiavone worked for the wwf from 1989 to early 1990

  • Sandbag Warriah.

  • i think they went for the powerbomb but warrior just sandbagged rude.

  • @nwohobgoblin if you watch rude he looked like he was going for a piledriver but when warriors legs went to far back rude just said fuck it so it didnt look worse.

  • @nwohobgoblin If so, Rick handled that like a true professional. He could've sat out or just dropped him from a standing position and really fucked Warrior up. Instead he played it off like it was intended and actually made it look decent while also not hurting his opponent.

  • @nwohobgoblin

Don't even think the Power Bomb was even regularly used in the US at this time. But this is actually how the power bomb was invented, a botched pile driver.

  • @nwohobgoblin Rude didn't use the powerbomb

  • Rude was setting warrior up for the normal piledriver in the kneeling position but somehow warrior landed on his back.

  • He was going for a Canadian Backbreaker submission but Warrior clearly did not know how to take it. Rude covered it up with this Powerdriver of sorts.

  • Inverted kneeling piledriver, belly to belly kneeling piledriver, that's all correct names for tombstone.

  • This is the original POWERBOMB (Ganso Bomb)

but it looks so POOR...Standart Powerbomb is better and Standart PILEDRIVER too

  • If you say it's a piledriver then how come Rude is coming down with his knees? The piledriver is where you sit on your ass droping the person on there head. This move here is still technically called the reverse tombstone, like Undertaker's finisher rotated the other way. That what this move is called in Japan.

  • actually in Japan, this move is called the Ganso Bomb, which translates to Originator Bomb, so named b/c this is the original powerbomb that Lou Thesz accidentally invented from a botched piledriver

  • Piledriver's can be hit kneeling or sitting.

  • Piledriver can be ended in two ways: in Sitting position and in kneeling position. If you end it in sitting position, you will perform standart piledriver and it's variations. if you end it in kneeling position, you will perform Tombstone piledriver and it's variations. It's simple)

  • Why name a botched powerbomb?

  • Because it's one of the most brutal finishers of all time, if you see the actual Ganso Bomb. And alot of innovative moves come from botches.

  • I looked after that vid. THX Such a move in 1989!

  • That was something the ultimate moron botched.

  • Wow, 10 years before Kawada did it!

  • Love Rude, may he R.I.P. Would loved to have seen that nitwit Warrior pinned.

  • I believe this is a Kawada Driver.

  • That's no Ganso Bomb. What Rude was doing in this clip is known as the Reverse Tombstone Pile Driver.

  • Reverse Tombstone? That's called a piledriver, you moron. The tombstone is a reverse piledriver...

  • it's a belly to belly inverted piledriver.

i don't think rude intended to perform a ganso bomb, it looks like warrior just sandbagged him. that does sound like something he'd do, too.

  • Belly to back maybe? Belly to belly will be tombstone. It's, as i think, reverse tombstone piledriver.

  • a ganso bomb is not a piledriver. it's a powerbomb variation, hence the name ganso "bomb". so it's not a reverse tombstone piledriver, because that's just a piledriver.

  • Reverse Piledriver is Belly to belly piledriver(Sitting position, not kneeling). TOmbstone is Belly to belly KNEELING piledriver.

  • Eat a cheese then goat

  • Beautiful botch. Never thought I'd see the ol' Ganzo in the 'E.

  • Looked very planned. Nice ganso bomb

  • this is Schiavone with Jesse Ventura, u asshole

  • is shit this ganso bomb is shit the really ganso bomb is the kawada driver

  • that looked really fun

  • Rude still won the match

  • This is why Tony Schiavone sucks. Any other decent announcer would have gone bananas after that but Tony just gives a long pause and comes back with a lukewarm, "Well we'll found out. Let's see."

  • True dat. That definitely called for an "OH MAY GAWD!"

  • seriously, how many dicks did tony schiavone suck to keep his job so long

  • haha...yeah but there are also many other ways that Schiavone sucks. If you have a few hours, I will explain them to you. :-)

  • wow, you really just showed your ass didnt you lol

That is Schiavone moron. Schiavone & Ventura.

Everyones knows Tony started out with the WWF. Just like Jim Ross started with the WCW/ NWA....

The 2 of them not liking each other isnt just wcw vs wwf....they have personal issues.

lol If your gonna be a smart ass and talk shit like that, at least get your facts straight....

I've seen alot of ignorant, retarded comments...

But yours here takes the cake.

  • Tony didn't start out with the WWF at all, he was working for JCP until he went there in 1988/1989 I forget which, before returning to NWA/WCW. I don't know what he did prior to JCP but he was there before WWF regardless.

Don't say things are "ignorant, retarded comments" if you are wrong yourself.

  • Hey pot, don't call that kettle black!!

Schiavone started out in the Jim Crockett's Mid-south area which was NWA/WCW from around 1985-1989-ish. He hosted the Saturday night TBS program with David Crockett. He left for the WWF for about two years, and then returned to Turner's promotion.

    Everyone knows that...

That taste in your mouth is shoelaces.

  • Technically Schiavone was in the AWA briefly before he was in WWE

  • That was clearly Warrior's fault.

  • it was not a botch

  • exactly. this was a planned move and warrior didn't even land on his head. rude had his knees underneath that.

  • Lol i remember seeing Rude do this and thinking it looked cool. It was before I knew who Kawada was. Is this really rare footage? Because i've got a VHS called "History of Summerslam" and it showed like 2 or 3 of the main matches from every Summerslam, up until Summerslam 94 or 95. It has this whole match on it, and their cage match from Summerslam.

  • Warrior let go of Rude's legs and therefore left Rude with no choice but to follow through with a fugged up piledriver. Warrior either purposely tried to sandbag ( not smart on a piledriver) or was in an uncomfortable position while inverted and released his grip on Rude's legs to alleviate the pressure on his spine etc..this is NOT a Ganso Bomb.

  • Nah you are wrong. That was a Genso Bomb. Had it been a piledriver, even a messed up one, Rude would not had fallen forward.

If anything, Warrior could had try to sand bag the Genso Bomb which was Rude's attempt anyways, since Warrior had kick out the pile driver in their original WM5 match so Rude wanted to change things up.

  • does anyone else think it may have been a make shift piledriver badly done?

  • Chances are this was a product of Warrior sandbagging rude (he was notorious for being uncooperative or just incompetent) and not sitting all the way up for the powerbomb. Still looked brutal, though.

  • Ultimate Warrior = The Original Kozlov, LOL

  • So......You guys think kawada was a rick rude fan back in the day when he was tagging in footloose?

  • that wasnt a power bomb more like a piledriver

  • This version of the move looks a little safer than the original...which is good.

  • The original one has only been performed a handful of times because it's so dangerous.

  • is it just me or does everybody kick out of the ganso bomb?

  • That was when WWF was cool... Today WWE sucks in my opinion because the best things are banned there.

  • well and the best wrestler too. Ric Flair, the best ever Wooooooooooooooooooooo

  • it sucks cause look who main event all the time cena warrior princess and roidtista

  • @wrest93 it's not only because the best things are banned, it's because a bunch of "not-able-to-do-the-simples move"-douchebags is called wrestler there.

  • @wrest93 True, the best things are banned at WWE...I heard they banned decent wrestling and storylines.

  • Wow, this is great quality

  • wow.
