This may have been a great alrline, once. By 1972, it wasn't. It's a shame. Delta used to be much respected too. Recently, NW and DL became two of the worst airlines in the United States, and then merged to combine, like Washington DC, southern efficiency and northern charm. They're so big, it's almost impossible to avoid them. And I try.

Northwest used to be a quality airline, way back in the day. Fond memories as a kid of tablecloths on your tray and logo-ed China for meal service - and the hot towels and foot slippers for long flights (in first class).

The food was actually decent - and the adults drank alcohol (while they smoked) like there was no tomorrow.

Those days are long gone...

This was a great airline. As a kid growing up, I my summer travels were on Northwest Orient. There service seems to have changed over the years. I will no longer be flying them after the merge with Delta is complete. Delta sucks!
