Right now you have to have lived in Canada for 10 years in order to qualify for Old Age Security. Dhalla wants the time reduced to 3 years. So you could come here when you are 62 years old, never work or contribute to Canada's tax system and qualify for full Old Age Security benefits. This wannabe Bollywood actress wants to revise Bill C-428, An Act to Amend the Old Age Security Act. Dhalla who introduced the bill represents the riding of Brampton whose population is mainly East Indian. This bill had first reading in the house on June 18, 2009 and I heard that it was seconded by MP Bob Rae.

Right now you have to have lived in Canada for 10 years in order to qualify for Old Age Security. Dhalla wants the time reduced to 3 years. So you could come here when you are 62 years old, never work or contribute to Canada's tax system and qualify for full Old Age Security benefits. Can you believe the idiocity of this woman, ten years is a stretch.

It's time Canada looked after it's own citizens before splashing OUR money around on people who have no right to this money, never having contributed to it. If a family wishes to bring elderly relatives here and wish to waive their own right to collect these resources fine otherwise look after them yourself and don't expect Canadian people to do it. I find it rather amusing that Dhalla mother was a nanny, since most people have a tendancy to show empathy in this cases. One of the nannies pulled the same stunt before hand. Having had two filipina nannies one was really good and the other left with no notice when she got permanent residency, which left me without a job....

There is a possibility she could be voted for prime minister, one would be for diversity. I reall think it depends on what she said during a campaign that would give her the upper hand! I vote based off some of their previous history and what they want to compell it it is in within reason.....

True, however diversity will only get you so far, you have to be in tune with international affairs, and Canadian issues. Prior to being 'voted in as a Prime Minister she would need to win the party leadership & those things are always a popularity contest amongst the liberal elite.
As for Harper, against women working? Never heard that one before. I will tend to think that's a bit of a stretch. These are modern times, who's against women working other than the Taliban?

Maybe we misunderstood each other, what I meant to say is that once upon a time harper was against pay equity and didn't understand why they wanted to work. I'm just trying to explain that peoples views can change over time or change drastically and our politcal advocates would be perfect example of that.
Dhalla wouldn't make it to PM but if it did happen and she stood on her word I would vote for her.

An Immigration Department supervisor testified that she phoned Ruby, and informed her to give back the passports.
It was also calculated that the nannies earned $1.56 per hour. Ruby did not pay the UI premiums to the government, or the CPP contribution, etc. There is simply too much evidence against her.
The nannies had nothing to gain by telling lies, they were not suing Ruby. It was the government that asked them to testify.

as Russel Peter's says Indians hate each other. I have many Indian friends and it seems there are many rivalries, Sikhs (which Ruby is), Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Zoroastrians. Jains etc. Also I have heard that the Hindu caste can cause disdain between castes. Again this is my limited white guy knowledge. Also I think since the Indian community has so many smart, educated people they resent "do nothing" Dhalla, she seems to have been for her ethnicity not her talent.
