Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley, Paul Chambers, John Coltrane, Jimmy Cobb, and Bill Evans... no wonder this song is so great, i can listen to this one song for hours
I bought the CD reissue when it came out in '92. I listened to it for about a month straight. Every so often, I get around to it in my rotation and play it for days and days. Now, I'm stuck on the opening piano solo on So What and just playing this post and the CD over and over. I lived in Santa Monica during Miles's last years and remember the day he died there at St. John's Hospital ten blocks from my apartment. for an interesting note on the original recording, google "the fifth element #34"
@1toomuchswag This, in HD, is probably the best YouTube jazz piece I've heard yet, and, there have been some pretty great recordings. Keep up this great work.

Bill Evans is amazing. I'm glad to be a music major at the school that taught him.

You can actually hear the haughty piano and saxs answering "so what?" to the old mumbling doublebass at the beginning. Always makes me laught.
