The problem is...finding a place to live off the land where officials don't hassel you. Cops,Rangers, ect. Not many plases in the U.S. where you cand just go build a cabin in the woods without somebody wanting permits and of course...taxes.
@nerblebun appalachian mountains and rocky mountains in the US are perfect, I live about a 30 minute drive from the smoky mountains and thats where i'd go, u can walk a mile in one direction and be somewhere no one has ever stepped foot just like that.
@detdadet97 In 1989 my son and I were hiking the John Muir/Pacific Crest Trail in the Sierras.Dropped down into a valley because we saw some beautiful lakes.Hadn't seen another human in two weeks.Up rides a Ranger on horse back and gives us a citation for being,"In the wilderness without a permit". We had entered a Designated Wilderness Area. "The man" can and will find you if they choose. Now their using drones.
We forget how much we don't need. The more you're forced to buy the more you're forced to earn. That's the set up manufactured trap of the elite establishment. Everything's deemed too dangerous and outlawed as a result. Reject it. Reject the very notion of being told and of telling others what to do. Remember that every time you're tempted to vote for a law that does anything but allow others to choose for themselves, their property including animals, and their own children.
you dont have to be a indian to live off the land a few years ago at the start of this resession i lost over 250,000$ in investments i had nothing maybe 50$ to my name in stead of going back to work and living in a monder "unsustainable" socity i went to full time trapping and hunting i have never been happyer i love life now and wondt change a thing living off the land is living the life living your life to the fullest.
@nitroexpress700 I think living off the land is more gratifying With the population of these times, I am glad we have some kind of management and a since of duty to the earth, to know when enough is enough and not to be greedy. Enjoy Life day by day. PEACE
@nitroexpress700 how the hell are you commenting on youtube then? lol, not trying to be mean or anything. but anyways, i like the way your thinking, if all hell breaks lose, thinking about the same thing
Probably the only indigenous people who live closely to how their ancestors do.. To bad the American Indian wasn't given the equal opportunity.. times are going to get a lot harder for them!!
Can folk still go to Alaska and live off the land.It has been my dream to move away from civilian life and live in the mountains. but not sure if we can still do that.

Compare this to those new age idiots in True Life: I'm Living Off The Grid. These people would get a good laugh at their expense...
