In my experience with musicians, talent usually comes hand in hand with a straight-laced, businessman like aproach. Yet inspite of Dimebags outstanding technical ability he still managed to maintain a refreshingly, almost childlike enthusiasm. Call me a sentimental twat but I think many (including myself) would do well to learn from his example.

Most, if not all of the guitarists mustaine has hired have played 1000 times better than him live. I saw him once with Marty, and once with Chris. Both are amazing guitar players that deserve to be in better bands. But they were guns for hire, so the money was there. As far as these "tricky" riffs, it wouldn't matter if the riffs are tricky, deceptive, complex, simple, repetitive etc... a riff that sucks will still suck no matter what. Mustaine isn't a very good instrumentalist.
