  • i love watching science vids...^^

  • Hydrogen can be stored on Lithium-6 at densities greater than liquid hydrogen. The problem is, the military industrial complex has made it illegal to sell Lithium-6 w/i the US.

    True criminals.

The only LEGAL way is to make it, which requires a particle accelerator. And even then the gov wants a tax for running the PA.

The legal system is opinion enforced at gunpoint.

The technology is here, we are just not allowed to use it. How would the war criminals make a profit??

  • If it sounds too good to be true, then its probably not.

  • Anybody have any links to how to build a seperator cell?

  • @TranshumanCyborg, to store hydrogen in batteries? post the link please. As far as I know, most efficient batteries are using lithium-ion technology.

  • why dont just consume the hydrogen for energy production on the go ( at times when it is need it) ?? why there is need for storage?

  • this video fucked my nerves

  • you store hydrogen in water

    where it came from homie

  • take those panels and put them in the basement.first you take a parabolic solar concentrator and put an robotic arm on it to follow the suns path.then make the focal point a mirrored shape cone that will send the light down through mirrored glass tubing straight into a mirrored shape glass box inside the mirrored shape box will be several solar panels that spin to keep them cool the mirrored box must have the mirrors inward to reflect the light sending from the parabolic focal point.ken van horn

  • if you really want to make something work here it is take a parabolic solar concentrator and send light into a mirrored cone shape focal point then send that light into mirrored glass tubing which will send the light into a mirrored box with solar panels in it the solar panels must be cooled by spinning or cooling system.now get to work

  • wooooo global warming soooo scary

  • The single biggest wall this thing could hit is in the government. They'll probably outlaw the storing of hydrogen on the grounds of preventing terrorism. If it does happen, it'll probably mean continuing the grid-level monopoly status quo.

  • Unless they find a safe way to store the hydrogen, I don't see this as very practical. Can you imagine some idiot with a rifle shooting at the hydrogen tanks?

  • @chiflao2 Underground is always a good option

  • @thesituationgame According to the video you will need several large tanks to store the hydrogen. I don't see many people being able to store them underground - or above ground for that matter.

  • we cant manufacture these because china owns/is hoarding 90 percent of the rare earth minerals, which is required for these things

  • Solar energy can easily solve the impending energy crisis in future.

  • im skeptical,

So your doing electrolysis with solar power, and using the hydrogen for fuel?

Electrolysis is very corrosive to almost everything, and you would need to replace whatever you are using for anodes/cathodes, unless it was platinum. platinum is not readily available, and is extremely expensive.

This "new" practice is futile when you start to realistically look at it.

Also, the 2nd law of thermodynamics. just use the damn energy you get in the first place.

  • @vevenaneathna this isn;t car under the hood...this is MIT, open sourced ......ck it out.

  • @henrykay01 Oh! no shit! You're genius! and thereafter all it's FREE!!!? DON'T show your idea to anyone!

For sure THEY (oil companies) will kick your ass and kill you before you'll be able to collect any penny from naive people! Take a hide and fck yourself - IDIOT

  • Oh gee.... I was thinking about solar power's problems and this very same idea hit my mind, but it's already been done, as this video shows.... :\

  • Hydrogen is not the answer, converting electrical energy into hydrogen chemical energy and then turning it back into electrical will have a terribly hard time being more efficient than batteries. Instead of researching a solution that's rife with technical problems why not work on improving a system that's already developed?

  • @Frostlander Because they're not working

  • He didn't come up with shit!

  • i want to knew is the solar system can be use at the commercial real estate like a store type

  • i want to knew is the solar system can be use at the commercial real estate like a store type

  • Great video...I converted my home to a net-zero solar powered home that uses no oil or gas...I made a video about it called, "Preparing for Peak Oil"....

  • great videos. i also find another site that is similar with it.

  • if this is so amazing why have i only seen it on youtube. not only that but while trying to look up a video game...

  • @Millz444 lol same

  • So we can make energy power by making hydrogen and mix it up with water?

  • I "own" me, but that doesn't imply that I know everything about how I work. Conversely, claiming to understand that one knows a fraction of how a plant works, doesn't mean that person owns the plant. I like the idea, but, the physicist said, electrolysis creates further problems that must be overcome, but it IS a step in the right direction.

  • Great video but don't ever say you own "shit" they owned you for millions of years bra. But definitely a good find. And people say weed is bad for you "wink wink".

  • love it! i my parents needs to use solar power energy

  • Better yet... use unrefined biomass to power efficient external combustion engines, and use waste heat efficiently for space heating, water heating, and even water distillation. Think about it for a while.

  • Ultracapacitors.

  • that is great if they found a way to make electrolysis more effective because normally it is terrible. it is also good if you have a need for hydrogen. but they say batteries are expensive and ineffecient? that is wrong.

I think the idea that solar is no good because it does not run 24hr/ day is silly. we are not going to close down all fossil fuel plants when solar plants are running. how nice will it be to not be polluting whenever the sun shines. much better than now.

  • guess what... look up carbon tax and carbon tax credit... bills, yeah they will never go away till we can live free and free of greed

  • The tree are shrinking and expand so can there be some sort of presurizing system? Just like presure-cooker

  • Solar panels and electrolysis? That's the breakthrough? I like the animation with all the hydrogen tanks, as if the puny solar panels on your roof could ever fill those up!

  • Prof Nocera forgets to mention that you cannot extract from the environment more energy with SPECIFC power that is greater than the one available in the envrionmnent at that moment. If you had to use the method described to to supply the US, the installation would cost more than the entire US GDP.

  • i tend to think so. call it dogmatic thinking but i believe everyone has their price. but i also think a powerful oil company would rather dispose of humanitarians and hippies than pay them millions for their patents and ideas. why spend (just to throw out numbers) 10 million to buy a patent when you can spend 1 million to formulate a clean assassination. or 1 million to use political connections to throw someone into incarceration for life? that makes sense to even me, and i'm a nice guy!

  • humanity isn't for sale. just a patent. who knows. maybe the oil companies don't buy out patents the way we think. maybe they steal them or acquire them from people in other illegal ways. i can't see everyone who has ever discovered a good renewable source of energy all selling out to oil companies for money. i'm sure most people who are looking to discover such methods of generating energy start with good intentions. yet nothing ever seems to break through. can EVERYONE be susceptible to money?

  • Patents are made public and everyone can read them example google espacenet. Intellectual prpoerty on a patent lasts only 20 years and ONLY in the countries where they are filed and approved . Moral of the story: you cannot hide a patent nor stop the production of technological innovation after 20 years everywhere in the world. Conspiracies are the pinnacle of nonsense.

  • Is it possible a company can re-patent something before any one else gets to chance to? and i mean internationally. is it possible that google, after 20 years (which is a long ass time mind you), could patent their espacenet again before you or I or even another corperation has the chance to?

  • No, you cannot patent what has already been patented. You cannot get another 20 years of intellectual property years once the time has expired. But it gets worse, you cannot patent a technological innovation once it has already been published or made public. Also methods, ideas theories cannot been patented. It's got to be a technological innovation that solves a practical problem.

    google

    ipo what is a patent

  • wouldn't you?

  • Nope I would tell them to take their money and shove it. I would give it to the world and I would patient it.

  • let's go solar and wind for real. we could end world hunger with that shit.

  • First, energy consumption must be reduced, by building more public transportation to move people around.

Personal cars are very inneficiant, polluting and energy hogs to move people around.

See Europe, how effectively use public transportation.

Also, Germany is very big on wind power, one of their biggest export.

  • hey I just see your post.. very true! hmm I just hope that there will be scientists who are SUCH enthousiasts as Dan.. people like him make a change as they have a drive, passions & know-how.. 1:37 ouch! 'there's no wires in the leaf' & then the passion bit that;s an asset that makes a change.. at 3:57 or so onwards... ' if that does not get you excited, then don't do science!'.. yes!!!

  • 4:07 so sweet... and you below get BACK to the TOPIC of this video & leave taxes/ rent/ do they speak English yes/no at home.. this video is WORTH IT thanks!

  • at the same time u reminded me of the poorer nations where taxes are not implemented because the economy is so poor. Which reminded me the collapse of Iceland's currency, and poor economy of Thailand. that is why i ask you do they speak English.

  • u confused me , after given more time to think of what you said. : D once you buy your own apartment, you have to paid taxes instead of rent. Still that as like rent.

  • do they speak english?

  • Do they even know efficiencies of batteries ,

    blooudy illuminati asssholes.

  • u still have to paid rent

  • wow this is amazing!! me I'm now your fan!! the start of the video is hilarious (below) but luckily the contents later proves to be a possible breakthrough

complaint raised: 'global warming' answer provided: 'put it on ice!'

  • how can i not paid water bills?

  • get a bucket and find a puddle
