finally i found someone who likes thesemovies too, hey i have been searching this period drama film for years now, i saw it when i was little but now i wanna see it again. its about a girl who gets sold to gentlemens for a night of pleasure, untill one day this man who has health problems "purchases her" and they end up falling in love.... please help....

You know what we love about these movies? ROMANCE, gentlemanlike behavior, dressing up I can never get enough! probably we live in a time where we have a lot of comforts but they can be distracting, here people had contact with people, they had to use their imagination but till i'ts great to have tea or hot drink with a good friend the real stuff, and the way they spoke was mezmerizing...

So far my favourite period drama are Pride and Prejudice (1995, with Colin Firth), "Persuasion" (1997, with Ciaran Hinds) and "Jane Eyre" (1997, with Ciaran hinds)... Check out "Bleak House", girls, with Gilian Anderson; it is very long (46 parts) but not bad...

It's 'Ever After: a retelling of the Cinderella Story' starring Drew Barrymore and Dougray Scott. It's a very good movie full of romance and unlike so many dramas it's not predictable.

I don't know what some of them are talking about, I loved the music with the video,if you watched it,it was the men touching the womens hands or a look, a smile, which means "you say it best when you say nothing at all".Otherwords a smile, a touch,a look, anything, shows there feelings, I say well done. I made this a long time ago, and this was the only version of this song I had. I love all these movies, but North and South cannot be beaten ever!! That is my favourite series ever!!!

I'm hopeless when it comes to period dramas. There's just something about the timelessness to love that gets me... My favorites at the moment are, in order, North & South, Jane Eyre ('07), P&P ('95), P&P ('05), and Sense & Sensibility. I enjoyed Mansfield Park and Northanger Abbey, but they don't quite rank with the others. I still need to check out Persuasion, Wives and Daughters, and Tristan + Isolde, though!

Yes, I do:) Together with P&P '05, North and South is my favorite period drama! I can't get enough of it, and of course every fan of N&S can't get enough of Mr. Thornton! Richard Armitage is brilliant in that role and of course all the rest of the casting is also amazing!
