  • I wouldn't call this "losing the plot" I would say she was slowly coming to realise that being defined as a mother and a wife was limiting her, holding her back. Time to break out of cocoon and spread her wings............. but where to start? Amazing series written by a very talented woman.

  • She should have gotten a job. It would have gotten her out of the house and might have occupied her mind. At least she could have volunteered to help some less fortunates. She did get involved with trying to save the foxes, but that came to naught, at least in her time.

  • Poor Rea - Seeing to everyone else's needs, wants, desires, and forgetting about one very important person - Herself. Truly enlightened script and wonderful acting.

  • I remember watching this first time round as a kid and even then I thought this is not a comedy is a tragedy...I really felt for Ria and the way her life was sufforcating her. Wonderful hnaks for posting

  • They don't make em like this anymore, in a class of it's own!

Genius, Carla Lane, Wendy Craig, Nick Lyndhurst et all

  • Carla Lane's best work I reckon. The quality of the scripts is outstanding.

  • This is my life LOL

  • anyone know the music ria put on in this clip

have heard it several times through the series

but dont know what its called

  • The Adagio in G minor, by Tomaso Albinoni (1671-1751). They use it effectively in this series, don't they?

  • thanks much appreciated

  • @wldbwriter

    They really do. It's haunting.

  • i am 33 and remember watching this with my mam, then taking her taped episodes on video with me and finally in the last few years gettn it on dvd- I totally love this show, wendy craig is fab-everyone can relate to aspects of it! great!

  • I so love this show, I know the series exists on dvd, but last time I checked it was not USA/Canada...yet....

  • I got the first series in the US on DVD at Borders Book Store a year or so back...

  • THANKS!!!! I have been getting books, coffee and music there, I don't know why I didn't check for this show there. I am sure their coffee is better than Ria's...
