@elbacooks4u Elba! You are so sweet. Your recipes are wonderful! Always! I am so behind on videos and emails but I always love watching you cook. You are really great! God bless you too!
I'm going to make this soon,it sounds so good and easy.I had a great apple pork chop dish many years ago in a cafe near Boston. It also came with wonderful gravy.
@angierox2 Hey Angie! I am not sure you can steam your veggies in a crock-pot. Mainly because it uses very low heat and take a long time to get to the point of steaming/condensation. Sorry! How about you get a metal colander that fits over your pan and only goes in it slightly. Fill the pot with a little water. Cover the colander. I bet that would work. Thanks so much for watching!
Restaurants are stingy in Holland. You have to order one plate per person then they don't even give you doggy bags to take leftovers in. Not to mention it's expensive Grr. Though you do usually get less food.
@HomemadeCafe Restaurants are pretty frugal down here as well. Not very big portions at all. You can get doggy bags, though - if you have anything left over lol! Thanks for watching!
@SmokeyGoodness Hey Dan! I think the pressure cooker would be fine. Of course, this would be done in under 1 hour. I think you can put the crocker away! Take care!
My French spouse seemed embarrassed that I not only did "doggy bag" in NY and the USA, but in fact, sometimes contacted restaurants in advance and asked for him to eat for free! With a reservation and my assurance I'd pay for all my own food, we'd both drink and have dessert, they often said, yeah, sure, why not? I said, this is gonna be this French guy's first meal in your place, serve him free, we will have a few courses, and why not? They earn a lot on drinks and desserts. xo
@CuteCatFaith Doggy bags are a new thing in Bolivia as well. It was always considered rude to take your food home. There is so much European influence in Bolivia! Never thought about calling the restaurant in advance. Great idea! Take care my friend!
@pastryparrot1 Restaurants seem generally happy to know you'd like to visit but could people share, how much does that cost, and could you even bring something to take leftovers home in, thus sparing them having to pack it up for you? The free thing worked well in the States as long as I asked in advance and was polite. Also, I was prepared to spring for at least one full meal to ensure they made money! They were usually willing to make some deal. They seldom said no. xo
Just don't throw away that fat! I have some clips up of PINTADE, guinea fowl cooked in cider with apples, shallots and thyme. The bones are saved, roasted and used for stock. I only learned to make pork chops better here in France. This looks like a perfect recipe, and if anyone can help me get a Crock Pot here in France, an electric one, I'd be thrilled! Keep up the great work, uprated, wow do I share this channel! Fennel is great but yeah, why not rosemary? xo
@pastryparrot1 I have got to quit shilly shallying and learn to use an old fashioned pressure cooker here. They scare me! The instructions are in French. Most homes in Europe have one, however. I just did a basic stock with ordinary bones from one chicken, roasted. Not really rich enough for a broth but excellent as a cooking ingredient. To think I used to throw bones away! xo
This looks wonderful! If I double the pork chops should I double the sauce over them or that doesn't matter? Thanks!

@chattingwithu Hi there! Maybe add some more liquid but I don't think you need to double it. Have a wonderful day! I hope these come out great!

Great video, Mary Ann! I'm wondering if this would work as well with a pressure cooker. We just bought one and haven't used it yet.
If not, we do have a "crocker", but it's much smaller than yours.

I tried this other recipe before is that you add your pork and just add apples.
No liquid or anything else I was skeptical and 8 hrs later they turned into aromatic apple soup so good.

Well I dont know about restaurants in Bolivia.
But here in Canada the serving sizes really tiny. And as you said expensive.
So the better deal to go to is the Chinese restaurants and McDonalds.
I also go for restaurants that offer all you can eat.
