  • Where were you when you film that, please ?

  • did you go by yourself? you know when goin for hikes like this you should be 2 people, who would dig you out?

  • Holy crap...your heart must have skipped a beat.

  • Let the guy hike and snowboard in peace people. Jeez.

  • I wouldve pissed myself.

  • At 2:02 I thought he was going to jump off the ledge. I was all "Nooo it's too dangerous Billy!"

  • Oh my... @2:30 I just thought: "WHAT THE FUCK ARE U DOING!??" (when walking like at least 3 meters to far to the left!)

Then five seconds later the most obvious thing in the world happens. I shit my pants long before that. Not cause of the height, but bcuz u walk so super obviously to close to the edge! It's like looking on a horror movie when the girl walks down to the basement alone to check where the noise came from: "NOO YOU STUPID FREAK! DON'T GO THERE! U'RE GONNA DIE!"

    Close call dude!

  • Was he alone? That's terribly dangerous.

  • sweet video dude

  • is this at a-basin and btw that avalanche would've left a stain in my pants

  • shit! you lucky :)

  • Natural selection at work...

  • Avalanche at 2:35 :)

  • Lucky bro, very lucky. Cant say shit about your boarding though, really good :)

  • Your boarding skills are good - your avalanche avoidance skills not too good.

Walking on top of a corniche is plain dumb. Your weight is completely above one point making your weight footprint about 4 times as deep as when you are on your board.

While we're at it: next time take a buddy along so if something happens, someone can actually try to get you out of the snow.

  • sick video man!

  • Music is beastly

  • Thats such a good angle. I tried a few with the head strap but couldent get an angle this good. Btw it was my first time using a gopro

  • I dont see a huge avalanche but nice video anyway

  • This music seems to laid back for this video.

  • worst video ive ever seen. If i knew who made it i would kill him

  • @supersantiago999 Wow! I've had my life threatened on youtube. this is a first. My Name is Nate

  • @anteopts

you have a golf course behind your house. do you play golf lol

  • @harropizza No, but I do use the golf course to access good fly fishing on the snake river.

  • @harropizza creepy.....

  • @anteopts I thought it was awesome... I've noticed that the GoPro really reduces the pitch on a run. Makes it look almost flat in some cases.

  • @anteopts Hahaha, Hilarious!

  • @anteopts Sick I live in Wyoming :)

  • @supersantiago999 Yea coming from a punk who doesn't have any videos nor can make'em, go cry elsewhere!

  • wow u r a really good snowboarder

i wanna "board" with u somewhen

is there every year so much snow in may??

  • fucking rad bro

  • You also should stick to the exposure when on a ridge like that as opposed to stomping around on the leeward edge. Exposure on the right, cornice on the left. Scared me just watching. Glad you are safe. Shit happens, be careful.

  • @icefenix11 yes, I'm on a burton split board

  • I Used To Do ThatBut Then I Took An Arrow To The Knee...

  • I used to have a friend who did crazy shit like that...

    he wasn't so lucky RIP!

  • hey man amazing video !!

  • "It's idiots like you" that make me wish I was eating a taco right now. I would have sprinted like a motherflipper away from that cornice after it collapsed... but mad props to get the footage.

  • @evthay That comment made me laugh. Now I want a taco for breakfast.

  • might think about taking someone with you in the backcountry.. the shovle probe and beakon are useless without a partner! other than that, sweet!! glad ur alive.

  • first rule of skiing, never ski alone

  • @LCorrigan06 No its not. The first rule of skiing is there are no friends on a powder day.

  • man amazing video sick jumps i liked the indy grab a lot :D i cant wait till the snow comes to go snowboarding i live in greece so the snow haven't come yet :P

  • ADRENALINE JUNKIE

  • @Midgmo to contemplate how close to death I had just come, and of course to get the good video footage

  • @anteopts Oright

  • fuck you

  • If you fell that would have been bad

  • your a fucking idiot

  • @laberge01 *You're* a fucking idiot.

  • @anteopts Wouw dude, that video srsly rocked! I myself, is an experienced snowboarder, and someday, i wanna be like you! I love snow, i love the high speed adrenaline, the mountains you "skate", the sights you see, SO amazing! :-D But.. How the hell did you get up there? Helicopter? Lift? I do not see any lifts or "lanes" to "skate" on.

    //KingBanne

  • @landon4216 Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it. Did you see some of the other videos my channel? I will hopefully be posting some new video this winter, but probably not until 2012, because I'm heading to South Africa to climb for a few weeks.

  • Great job bro. Tkx for uploading and make me buy a ticket to aspen. I wanna do it !!!

  • that WaS FrEakINg AWESOME!!

  • Could I please have the name of the song?

    Thanks.

  • now these are the awsome types of videos that need to be posted more often on youtube. regular boarders carving up the back country and creating avalanches with peaceful music in the background and CRAPPY VIDEO EDITING. just an awsome video

  • It is idiots like you I worry about when I am at the bottom of something big. Please stay on the front range with all the other jerks.

  • @bgunns74 You would be the idiot if you were sitting at the bottom of this. Have you ever been back here. No one was below me. I talked to three ski patrol about conditions and whether anyone had been back in this area on this day and no one had. I did my homework. My mistake was walking a little to close to the edge. I'm not a jerk and I don't live on the front range. Why are you up this early calling people Jerks and Idiots on youtube? Does it make you feel good?

  • look man, not everyone rides the lift up. Was the ski patrol able to tell you if anyone was coming up from the bottom? forgive the language, I'm just saying the ski patrol doesn't know everything about where everyone is, especially in an area as crowded as the I-70 corridor. always act like there is someone below you when you are on top. Peace.

  • @bgunns74 I could see the bottom no one was there, and If you were coming up this run from the bottom you would be hiking in for miles. It's just a cornice collapsing, I caught it on video that's it No one died, No need to call me a jerk or idiot. I've been riding this area for a long time. I've made mistakes, but I have managed to stay alive for 15 years riding back country. You can't always drop into a line and know that someone isn't below you. Most people don't hang out below steep chutes.

  • @bgunns74 You clearly enjoy being out in the backcountry as much as I do. We would probably get along great. Arguing about what could have happened is a waste of time. We could die or get hurt every time we choose to go out into this kind of environment. We choose to do it anyway. So I will watch out for people below me as well as for people that might be above. Its part of the game, you can't be sure of anything.

  • @bgunns74 Fuck you kid, he has balls that you obviously dont hav. this man is fricken awesome. fuck YOU

  • only a boarder would have balls to do that like this if ur a boarder

  • i found this really weird to watch because i'm regular and i constantly wanted to for ce you int switch with my foots lol

  • The avalanche most probably was caused by the weight of his balls.

  • Enjoyed your video mate.

  • this is some bog standard boarding!!

  • head strap or helmet mount??

  • @Shibsterr head strap

  • @anteopts nice thanks man! I just got a GoPro and I'm tryin to decide the best option for when the season comes around. Im digging the headstrap for sure. BTW wicked jump at 5:56, i'd LOVE to hit that.

  • You are sick dude! This is just too cool for youtube.

PS. What is the name of the song?

  • @anteopts beautifully said

  • I had a snowboard strapped to my feet when I was born too. We have the same trip. Danger is everywhere... lovely places too!

  • Call me I'm often alone. I just think that they will find my body before the end of the season when I'm alone with my arva lol

  • cant stop watching this. gives me douche chills and its like 115 right now.

  • Awesome video! Ignore the hate. :) Also, What is the song please?

  • you never should go alone out there retard!

  • @MrBlup203 By "out there" do you mean big dangerous world outside of your house. Thanks a lot for your revelation, like it hasn't been discussed already. We can analyze anything that is dangerous but it still comes down to what we are comfortable doing as individuals. Retard!

  • @anteopts guy you don't know with who you are speaking!? I'm from switzerland and i know what mountains are and how dangerous they are! i'm now 18 and i have started skiing with about 2 years and im snowboarding since i'm 5 years old... sry but i would never go there out alone i'm still with a friend when i do such things in my hood!

  • @MrBlup203 HOLY CRAP! I had know idea I was speaking to an 18 year old from Switzerland. Guy you don't know with who you are speaking!? I'm the king of one up's and I learned to survive in the Alaskan wilderness, by killing baby whales, eating the blubber and wrapping myself in the carcass. This was before you were even conceived . When I was born my mom had to have a cesarean section because there was a snowboard already strapped to my feet in the womb. Drop the one up game it's so teenage.

  • @anteopts so it looks like ur havin a little problem? its not mine so when you want to die in a avalanche out there alone you can do that. i dont care about but i just wanted to give you my opinion that you shouldnt go there out alone because its pretty dangerous but if you dont care you dont care and i dont care. that im snowboarding since 13 years i just said that you aren't thinking that im a nerd sitting the whole day in my room at the computer and speaking here about things i dont know.

  • @anteopts I kind of had respect for your vid but man, after yr blubber and womb rant, I have to agree with you "drop the one up game it's so teenage." Hope you live long enough to grow up.

  • @MrBlup203 yeah.. wtf is this guy doing out there alone :S!!! am trying to improve my snowboard skills for one day enjoy the good snow off piste-Helisnowboard!! but.. as i heard u might never go alone :S!! shit that's scary!!!

  • Awesome

  • @airwalking colorado

  • gnarkill!

  • did you shit in your pants?

  • Nice run bro!

  • Hellls yeah. Good vid

  • ALMOST DOOD

  • Very nice

  • where is this? Looks sick.

  • @Rapattoni55 Colorado

  • I don't think you're an idiot man... just crazy! :D You wouldn't catch me anywhere near something like that lol. I bet its a rush though!

  • marmot?

  • That avalanche is how someone died in the cascades this winter. (Stepped through a cornice and it released) Lesson: Don't walk so close to the edge.

  • this music and you shredin'.... sick

  • Where is this at?

  • @Yankeepirate15 its at a basin, east wall, 20min hike to some good shit

  • I like 4:50 shakes his head...

OH HELL NO, NOT ANOTHER AVALANCHE!

  • what video converter do you use for your go pro files?

  • @yfz450pogo I have been using Sony Vegas Pro 9

  • this part in the rocks is great !!! :)

  • You're like me you jump everywhere^^...

  • 1) Skiing is spelled skiing, not skying? 2) You guys are seriously mistaken if you think this is backcountry or out of bounds. It is patrolled and blasted A Basin terrain.

  • holy shit... the only argument on youtube that was actually resolved in a relatively mature way. ive regained a little faith in humanity

  • @hooplahh I was surprised as well, that we came to a sort of agreement. Whats funny is that I agree with most the haters on here calling me an idiot. Its obvious how dangerous it is to walk on a cornice. If I was trying to hide my idiocy I would not have posted the video. I have collapsed several cornices over the years and triggered multiple slides and I could have avoided every one of them had I been more cautious. I'm not a cautious person. I run with scissors, and I enjoy it.

  • @anteopts Fuck yes. ENJOY your life!

  • @anteopts So basically your a dumbass that knows it. I can respect that.

  • @PLxFTW Basically, but I'm not a complete dumb ass because I make a little revenue from adsense on my videos and the more comments I get the more attention my video's get. Making me a little more money each day, so most of the time I'm just trying to start argument's to increase the comments. It really helps the participation. A lot of people have a hard time resisting the urge to post something. I mean would you have said anything if you didn't think I was a dumbass.

  • @anteopts Ahhhh. Very good sir.

  • very cool man. thanks for sharing!

  • when he triggered the avalanche at 2:42 he should have headed back to patrolled terrain. In the 2009-10 season, 13 times more people died out of bounds in avalanches versus in-bounds. It's great fun to carve fresh snow. It's no fun to die trying to carve fresh snow... many skilled, experienced skiers/boarders are being killed in avalanches... be careful, and stay in bounds.

  • Close one Guy!

  • this video really makes me worry about my friends who are into this stuff

  • @nyman188891 I do this stuff for a living! I get paid to do it but the rush is worth every single minute and i wouldnt change it for anything in the world there is nothing like skiing in the backcrountry on top of that mountain

  • Nice Vid, that's one of my favorite areas. Also for all the haters, there's nothing reckless about this. It's not even considered "out of bounds." It's just east wall at A Bay. I've done more damage getting shit housed in the parking lot than shredding E Wall.
