hi robert, i use the LM7805, but why is only 4.2-4.3 v read from my tester? should i use the LM7805A? or do i need to put .33uf and .01uf in the connection?
@carinlynchin vented? well if the batteries go bad they will vent battery gas and it is good to have some vent hole in the mod to let vented battery gas out... I don't remember saying vented but that is probly what I was talking about. haven't watch my vid for a long time
hey robert... i have done a few flashlight mods now, but always have an issue with grounding... i have been just modifying the bottom switch and trying to ground my battery connector wire directly to the aluminum casing (at the top)... heck of a time getting a ground by soldering.... they end up failing after a couple days. how are you getting a good ground on these things?
appreciate any help.... by the way, i used to live in carlsbad,,, where are you at? go chargers!

@gdias231 Glad you like it, I would love to see a some video of the one you built. Also, it would be cool to show others that you made one, and how it it works good it works.
I dont agree with heat shrinking all your solder points since you're encapsulating them in JB Weld
Noticed there was plenty of space in the body with the batteries to internallize the ground for a cleaner look. Why not score the inner wall with a file or dremel and solder the ground that way? If you're set on grounding with it showing externally, I would suggest drilling a hole in the body for a screw, using JB Weld to anchor it and then soldering the ground to the now internal post
LOL ... After watching all 10 Episodes I was counting down to see how you did the JB weld seal/mold only to have you completely bypass it? Love the complete steps and talking through it! Sounds to me like it was none to early to have stopped smoking cigarettes! Thanks for the tutorial will look you up!
Hey robert thanks for the mod!, this thing is built like a tank!!! and alot of my friends have been asking me about it, Ill be sure to send them you way...
@linkdead2008 Thanks Man!!! I also love my Detonators. I have recently been using some clear epoxy instead of JB weld so watch for my video's showing my latest models.
BOOM!

yeah I think you were drilling vent holes or something like that.
I was wondering what would be the safest battery that would not go bad new york but also that would fit in the flashlight with high voltage?
also 1 more thing, could you maybe tell me how I could make this a variable voltage
