  • i dont get it way most anne die because she had a daughter en not a son what is that a stupid man hi man as a son heefd why women can not koninin words I mean you go there for e wife dod not only because they make no son heefd e kannog always a son but you have to keep trying I think it's stupid how many women have not had the man is stupid He has six women he has had all dead easy or he was just a curse

  • Lady Bryan's letters to Henry re: her wardrobe was not indicative of anything malicious toward the child, but more about the fact that Henry was chasing Jane Seymour and was all wrapped up in that. The speed by which Elizabeth's wardrobe situation was fixed suggests that it wasn't enmity, but only forgetfulness in the whirlwind of a new romance. I hate it when people make something out erroneous speculation, as the narrator does in this piece.

  • @kendahke Thanks for your perspective, I personally love hearing other people pov's, much better than hatred

  • @kendahke with all due respect you say you hate it when people make something out of "erroneous speculation", when you yourself are speculating also when you state about henry being caught up in a "whirlwind of romance"!! as you say it suggests that, but theres no way of knowing with any kind of certitude that that was in fact the case!! so theres no difference between your suggestion and the narrator,s "speculation", all history ,for the most part is in fact " speculation", PEACE!

  • Amazing videos! Thank you so much for making! :))

  • aaah! i wanna marry you, these are the best videos ever

  • Today' with science we look back at those times and laugh at how a King could be so inpatient with his wife if she did not have a son right away for him. But they did not have the knowledge we have today about this stuff. He was in a world that was governed by religion, politics and a lack of scientific facts.

  • Now we know why Mary was such a bitter and heartless bitch.

  • I love Elizabeth I. She had a lot of tragedy (her mother's beheading, Catherine Howard's beheading, ill treatment from Henry VIII, and sexual abuse from Thomas Seymour. @TheBullen1 I agree that Thomas Cromwell was just as responsible as Henry VIII for Anne's murder, but he found out the hard way that karma can be a real b*tch.

  • Ah. Thank you for this. Wonderful. I don't know what sources you prefer, but I'd guess Starkey is among them. Really well done. Again, thanks. :)

  • Three cheers for Anne and Ellizabeth, and Princess Diana!

  • i totally agree, although anne's execution was horredous it shaped elizabeth's life as a strong monarch and to what we know of her today.

  • Can some one please tell me why cant a queen breastfeed her child especially her daughter? I have an idea why but I want to know the real reason!!!

  • The reason queens were not allowed to breastfeed their children is because breastfeeding is a natural method of contraception. It was the 'job' of the queen to have as many children as often as possible. It's crazy but that was the way things were done in Tudor times

  • Although Anne never produced a male heir, she succeeded in securing England with one of its greatest monarchs-Queen Elizabeth I.

Who knew at the time that Elizabeth would be the 'son' Henry always dreamed off!!

  • These are wonderfully informative videos and you have clearly gone to a lot of trouble which is much appreciated!! Thanks for all of your uploads!

  • @fozziebear2009

    And amazing.

  • Elizabeth- greatest queen ever! I don't care what the haters say!

  • "failed magnificently" could that sound anymore cruel?

  • OMG Henry's face at 1:05 is chilling, monstrous

  • Thank you for this video! It is amazing!

I love Anne and her daughter Elizabeth! <3

  • Elizabeth's problem was that any attempt to speak of her mother in a positve way would have meant implicating her father had knowingly put an innocent woman to death or was a total fool manipulated by his advisors.

  • wow thats amazing I read that Elizabeth never made any mention of her mother and never bothered to relocate her remains to a better location. On the surface it might seem that she didn't care, but deep down, she was always thinking of her mother.

  • Elizabeth wore a ring with her own portrait and her mother's.

  • A great video and it is superb!

  • to princessgurl4eva101, i agree with you

  • I am a history major going for my masters to hopefully teach it and you're writing and reading for these programs is top bar, better than many documentaries. It flows so well and is very in depth. Bravo!

  • But I agree. I think Elizabeth 1 was England's greatest/one of its greatest monarchs. People honoured her. And, people could practise their religion with freedom because of her. (catholic or protestant)

  • in the beginning of the video, im guessing the girl whos cradling the baby is anne boleyn. personally, i think she looks a little young. she looks like shes 12

  • oh you mean Genevieve?? No she isn't suppose to be 12 in the vid lol she actually is 18 (im talking about the movie) but when she has Elizabeth she should be older

  • I guess it is a matter of oppinion, and certainly she stands out for me as an iconic and potent contender for the title. She was far from perfection, but made a large mark on the pages of history. Cheers for your comment

  • who do you think was England's greatest monarch?

  • What are Katherine of Aragons qualifications as a great monarch? 'Nil points'.

She has made no changes to England, and is only remembered as a barren discarded wife who didn't go quietly. Also she tried to insight an invasion by a foreign ruler onto our country, yep, what a great ruler.

  • she was not barren! she had mary if you remember and four other children who were either stillborn, miscarried or died whilst still babies!! none of that being her fault!! anne actually suffered worse than cathrine trying to bare children but luckily she had elizabeth. xxxx

  • Yes true, but she was considered barren and not able to bear children, hence why he needed to shed her.. His need for an heir came above Anne and everything else.

  • it was believed it was up to ten children not four.

  • Lets see, born and raised to be Queen, brought salad to England, made education for women fashionable, had a hand in protecting England from Scotland, vouched for the lives of protesters on behalf of their families, fought nobley for both hers and Marys rights and specifically ordered that no Spanish war be waged upon England and was loved by the people. Good enough for you?

  • She did not 'specifically' order that no Spanish war be waged. Quite the opposite in fact. Bought salad to England? Yep. Brilliant Queen. Putting her and her daughters rights before the good of the country is not a good 'queenly' role. England needed an heir, and as she couldn't provide one, she should of done what's best for England and stepped aside.

She was a stubborn woman who tried to wage war against the people that loved her.

    Not good qualifications.

  • Right, taking time and effort to provide the poor with money, clothes, food, and fuel in the winter, acting as the Spanish ambassador to England quite successfully on her own. Holding off a Scottish rebellion in England while Henry was off to war in France. Terrible Queen, huh?.

And yes, in 1533 she specifically wrote to both the Pope and Charles saying that she wanted no bloodshed and would not sanction any invasion of England on her behalf.

  • And you think Henry tearing the country apart for his own selfish wants was what was best for England? Sorry! I don't blame Catherine in the least for refusing to submit her daughters and her rights.

  • Comment removed

  • I agree. Salad pales in comparision to everything Anne and Elizabeth did.

  • @TheMrGobble

That is easy to say. I assume that you are a man. How would you like it if your wife chose a younger man, basically said you were inadequate as a man,and to add insult to injury, broadcast your supposed failings to the entire world? Also, she disowned any children you had together and paraded her new love in your face, while telling you to "be quiet and step aside"?

Queen Katherine could have done major damage to England. She chose not to.

  • @NicolaWriter

She fought for her dignity and the rights of her daughter. She had Spain behind her and could have made life hell for England and King Henry. The fact that she chose not to is remarkable. Queen Katherine did much for England and her only crime was "failure" to bear a son.

  • She couldn't of made anything 'hell in England'

The last thing the Emperor wanted was to have war with England, he had more important priorities than a haggard old aunt. He would not of invaded us if Henry had divorced her, as it later proved when he done nothing for her when KOA was moved away. Do your research properly and don't be so one sided. I judge my opinion by the evidence I see, not what 'side' I am on.

Yes I am a man, so what? Does that mean I look at history differently? NO.

  • @TheMrGobble

It's not about what side. I admire AB as well. It's pretty cruel to say she's haggard and she have just stepped aside. What woman would do that? look at your language concerning women. Haggard, old, etc. That says a lot.

I meant that coming from a woman's POV,the view is entirely different. I understand why Queen Katherine acted the way she did. You also didn't answer my question. Would you have just stepped aside?

  • For the good of my country I would of stepped aside. She KNEW she couldn't give him a son. So failed in her role as Queen. I would of stepped aside no doubt, & had a much easier life as a result. She is the most obstinate woman in history. My language is concerning her,not woman in general so don't you even dare go down that road!

It's not just me saying she is 'haggard' etc, the Kings of Europe and their Ambassadors wrote the same things about her. She cut her nose off to spite her face.

  • @TheMrGobble oh she could but she loved the ppl of england and dont you

think if she did not have power well the king would of cut off her head to

but wouldnt cause of the power she did have

  • @Karenjadegirl

Agreed. I don't know why people expect Queen Katherine to just step aside for Anne Boleyn. Did AB just step aside for Jane Seymour? No,she fought for her marriage.

  • I think she was.

  • Why?

  • She acted with a XVI mind which was rather different of ours. And she was devoted to her nation, I admire that very much. She was a woman and a stong ruler.

  • Queen Victoria was rabidly anti-feminist- bit of a hypocrite.

  • @iamsmoochums She's among the top five.

  • "Failed magnificatly" It was hardly Catherine's fault! thanks for posting

  • Lol.. I can see where you are coming from, but I certainly didnt mean to suggest that Katherine was at all to blame.. her story is painfully tragic. The number of children that she lost was appauling, and the word was supposed to be used ironically - the blame always having been put on the female sex rather than the male. Thanks for watching! :)

  • "Anne's MURDER"

Great usage. You seldom hear it referred to as a murder. Her death was unjust. It did, however, shape the world's future.

  • Hehehe.. there is my emotion making itself glaringly obveous! Yeah, I mean technically it was legally done, however by todays standards, the fixed trial, fabricated evidence, use of torture etc makes her a complete victim of circomstances. Cromwell was undoubtedly Anne's murderer, as much if not more than Henry. I'm doing a lot of reseach on Cromwell and Anne atm so watch this space!

  • Thank you, this makes me smile. That ring...she so did not forget her mom, she just loved her in secret and learned from her. Ohh if Henry ever knew.... :-)

  • Yeah it is a really touching tribute isnt it? So nice to know that even at that tender age, Elizabeth had been influenced by Anne. It is just sad that Anne had to die in order for Elizabeth to get where she did. Cheers for watching x

  • Yeah I think Elisabeth was very influenced by her mom. She loved her A LOT (you didn't see her with a picture of her dad). And to have never married nor had a child and to be very outspoken...Anne's life must have had an influence on that as well. To me anyways, that's such a karma thing to Henry. To have in his eyes 'the basterd' rule...and be like Anne will doing so. He tried very hard to get Anne out of his life, but in the end Anne was his future. :-)

  • loved it!

    loved it!

    loved it!

  • Im very pleased u did :)

  • Any hope for another video soon? *Needs an Anne fix* ;-)

  • Superb vid!!

  • Thanks so much my darling.. and thanks for the pics!

  • Really! So That scene on The Tudors where Anne held Elizabeth & begged Henry for mercy actually Happened? Very Interesting! I really do enjoy & look forward to your work. You know a bibliography maybe some sources would be greatly appreciated

  • Thanks for your comment. We know that Anne and Henry were seen talking, and that Elizabeth was in Anne's arms, however no-one can be sure as to what was being said during this conversation. This was two days prior to Anne's arrest, and therefore the interpritation that the Tudors makes is plausable. I have read widley on the subject, and count Ives & Starkey amongst others as my main sources but I will endeavour to make a bibliography for you, as I do use numerous sources. Thanks for watching!

  • Thank you!!!

  • Well whatever was being said between Anne and Henry TheBullen1with Elizabeth in her arms doesn't really matter because Anne was sent to the scaffold anyhow. But Elizabeth was very aware and bright child so this could have influenced her a bit? I think the virgin bit that Henry speaks about in The Tudors when they argue before her arrest is a valid point.

  • Nice vid as always!

  • Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed!

  • Wonderful!

  • Anne Boleyn is my favourite of Henry's wife, I'm so happy she is your favourite too. I hope to see all your videos about her, you don't stereotype her like so many do.

  • She's my favorite too.

  • oh brilliant as usual; really awesome!! thanx looking forward to the next one!

  • Bless you... found this one particulary difficult and hated having to edit it down.. so Im glad that you enjoyed my ducks! Mary v's Anne is next.. so take cover!

  • Make more parts on Elizabeth^^ No need to cut stuff! Love it, as usual!^^

  • Aww glad you enjoyed... i'm gonna tackle some other topics (childhood, courtship, court relationships, Mary, pregnancies, and then will prob come back to Elizabeth.. so much to say! Cheers for watchin :)
