  • @keyboardwizard90 Thank you!! Phil have played so much drum that he nowadays have to tape up his hands and the drumsticks to even be able to play. If that doesn't show people.

  • Best drummer I've seen playing with Buddy's band. He knows how to drive and stay out of the way at the same time. A rare skill. Most underrated drummer (and most highly rated at the same time!).

  • the bassist looks like Martin Fry.lolz

  • @keyboardwizard90 Agreed bro. not too mention, Phil is doing his JOB as a drummer. keep time, pocket and groove, while leading everyone on a fantastic journey. just enjoy the music people

  • phil collins is an overrated drummer

  • @TrunJun420 I agree with you ! But Ulrich isn't a bad drummer ;) I love Collins, Genesis, and everything else Phil touches, but I also love metallica and Ulrich ! Both are possible ! ;) See you !

  • Phil doing what he should have stuck to ..DRUMS ! V Good !

  • wow, it's amazing to see people playing with their heart . i can feel it, i've always respected phil as an mutli artist and the buddy rich big band too. that's something what i'm definitely missing these days and gonna miss in the future.. but hey, old tracks remain, right? ;-) much love

  • I've always liked Phil Collins, but to hear him play one of Buddy's charts...well, my respect for him as a drummer just went up even more.

  • Whoah! Never heard Phil like this! This was good. Thanks 4 posting.

  • GooOOoO Phil! Give em hell buddy!

  • Good to see Will Lee on Bass. Awesome band.

  • woah a left handed drummer weird!

  • @Svettjodd Ha, ha....that's when you just close your eyes and enjoy!

  • If you guys like Phil here....you sould check out some of his old Brand-X stuff. Phil is a whole lot more than the "pop" stuff you hear so much.

  • Phil Collins really surprised me on this track... he did get it cookin'

  • I don't know, it was impressive for Phil Collins on the drums, thats for sure, and it showcased his ability, but it wasn't incredible or anything. It wasn't Dave Weckl caliber or anything, and it looks like it took all the sweat and steam out of him to play the whole song. Entertaining for sure. Thumbs up!

  • phil is Bad with that Axe.

    didn't ear no clams.

doesn't it "chill 'ya" the way phil plays the axe?

  • wow phil is a monster. to me he's more the singer of genesis (i knew he played drums before peter left), but i didnt know he was a real drummer. what a guy! what a career! drummers can do anything...

  • no steve wasn't there. it was when buddy had taken a bunch of high school kids on tour with him.

  • You mean he was saying all those words to HS Kids? Wow.

  • yes he was. he even mentioned in one of the taped yellings something along the lines of not being able to deal with high school kids.

  • neil pert gave anice solo as well at his event.

  • its weird how i felt about that solo. like it was a really good neil peart solo. thats the thing a NEIL PEART solo. i was expecting more of a budy rich styled solo. like i thought it was cool he made it his own, but i wanted to here at least some buddy rich aspect to it. know what i mean?

  • the Sax player is the great Steve Marcus. may he rest in peace along with Buddy.

  • The mini solo/fill at 1:03 is so simple yet so effective. Not quite Buddy cause he put some Phil into that.

  • phil collins is my idol on the drums.

  • wow! a left handed drummer, thats something that I don't see a lot. but it was a good performance.

  • Respect! Mr Collins can swing, yessire. In spite of his already injured wrists! Must've been somewhat painful, but he's a 100% passionate drummer, he wouldn't care about pain. I agree w keyboardwizard90 - just listen to his playing with (early) Genesis and Brand X. Blows your head off.

  • Absolutely agree with you, but what is wrong with his wrists?

  • read it somewhere - apparently years (40 or sth) of playing injured his spinal cord & wrists

  • yeah i've heard it couple of weeks ago, it's a shame... I guess no Genesis tour of The Lamb anymore than... Well,, there's enough stuff to listen to of his...

  • Plus, how often does he ever play jazz anyway. Regardeless, it's still some nice drumming.

  • Who's the bassist?

  • I think its will lee

  • Great stuff =) To the other comments... oh well. This is all well played, Jazz in it's essence, I really don't see why wasting time making such negative comments. He's been there, did that, and you are there sitting in front of your computer dreaming one day you would get so far as he did, that on his spare times he could play on a Jazz band for example.

  • muy bueno, me ha sorprendido gratamente Phil Collins

  • i've got the tape of this, good stuff
