Why is the water black? I've noticed it in all the videos. The water is black as it rolls over the sea walls, so it's not black from debris. I can't imagine living through something so horrific.

@joemac356 Tthe Tsunami stricken area contains unusually dark black topsoil (epipedon) assigned by the name "ando" or dark soil. This soil, or Andosols is not so much the result of volcanic origin, but a property inherited from the original vegetation. Volcanic sediment erosion in combination with soil darkened by organic matter and unconsolidated sediments (eolian, alluvial, lacustrine, or marine) resulted in very black water when agitated.

I appreciate the cameraman giving us this amazing footage, but it's actually very foolish to stand so close to the massive current. The weight and force of the water could easily cause a landslide, just look at the floating houses. You would drown in seconds. This guy/girl is playing with his life and probably doesn't even realize it.
