I am from Iran, and heard about Ahmad Zaher in Norway through some good Afghan friends. I love his voice and the way he sings on. He rolls really. Too bad he died so early. Rest in peace.

You have to consider the fact that this was recorded sometime in the 60s in Afghanistan. No sound filtering, no sophisticated recording equipment designed to change his voice...unlike most musicians in the US, where they are "studio voices."

Add in the fact he's singing in a language absolutely unfamiliar to him, and you'll understand why this is a beautiful song. He hit every note, and brought the same kind of life Elvis did with this song.
