  • what a beautiful animal... God knows how fast it can swim...like a rocket

  • nice barracuda :)

  • 25lb at the most !

  • @FIntyMAcC10 But of course it is ;-)

  • Do you eat a 52 lb baracuda, or just kill it for fun?

  • @Quillspinner Eat them to good to waste!!

  • lol its a mini marlin lol

  • looks more like a wahoo than a barracuda

  • i went to Ft. Lauderdale this weekend and i cought a 57 pound, 59 inch long barracuda. it was awesome :)

  • I eat cudas all the time

  • baracudas areent exciting to fish they have very low stamina try to go spots of swordfish they are much harder than sharks

  • yes its big, but this cuda its a 30 lbs. im sure

  • that is not 52# im 100% sure, but nice catch = )

  • No way that fish is 52 lbs.!

  • Of course not I just made it up!! i was not there when it was weighed ;-)

  • i catch 130cm barracuda, 17.6lbs only!

  • sweet catch, but I love that fishing pole

  • thats huge !!!

  • Barracudas caught in the tropical waters may be poisonous and can cause a type of food poisoning in humans called "Ciguatera". This happens because barracuda feeds on fish that in turn feed on algae containing the toxin ciguatoxin (particularly, the micro-algae Gambierdiscus toxicus). The giant barracuda, the Indo-Malaysian barracuda and the great barracuda are the ones who are likely to be toxic.

  • in the grenadines, the barracuda are safe to eat. i hardly ever eat them, just because they are annoying to fillet, i'm just being safe. they are cool though, luckily they arn't aggressive because its fun when they are swimming around you.

  • Hmm must of been the sunset in the background that made the fins look a bit yellow to me lol.. Thanks.

  • Is this a yellow tail Barracuda?

  • No don?t believe it is as the yellow tail is found in Indo-West Pacific oceans and tends to grow to a max of about 60 cm

  • he ate all the nemos lol

  • stop killing me

  • who would want to catch and release a cuda? too damn nice to eat!

  • depends on where you eat them. they can make you sick and possibly kill you.

  • Nice cudda!!!

  • we in vieques when we catch barracuda we cut a little flesh off and feed the army ants if they feed its all good, or lay a nickel on top a piece of flesh if the it turns kinda black dont eat it and if still not convince boil a piece of barra, with a potatoe or two , in a pot, if it turns black get rid of your barracuda. this is granmas recipe back in the black n white days

  • Interesting reply.......are you talking about when the fish is not fresh?

  • Nice coota. Funny, all the fishermen that posted comments. One thing though, WAHOO are plenty off freetown coast. You must go out about 30 to 40 miles off shore. And as for catch and release...the dude that asked if you know of this should take his head out of his a s s .

  • Yea Right Back at you buddy I see your from spain that would be my country to buddy

  • Hey poster, ignore all the 'Mine is bigger than yours" posts. They should have an age limit to who can post in the first place. Cool catch.

  • yo 50 pounds is not big at all for a fish its not hard to catch a 50 pounder try a 90 pound amberjack

  • 50lbs is not big for a fish but don't you think that depends on what type of fish you are catching!! As the official world record for Barracuda is 85lbs then 50lbs is pretty good. Agree Amberjack are great fishing and fight like fish twice the size and love catching them. Happy fishing.

  • tricky u obv dont no anything about fishing and are one of these wanabes who thinks they do.

  • hahahaha your going to eat that baracuda have fun dead baracuda are poisonous

  • Before making a comment at least check your information. Barracuda are not poisonous!!! What makes you think that? Have eaten barracuda for many many years and am still alive and kicking :-)

  • Barracuda are not poisonous. i think you mean Ciguatera.

  • more like 30lbs. lol

  • also the fish i caught was indeed a barracuda

  • ive caught a 50lb fish in isla mueres near cancun, mexico and i caught it when i was 12 so yes it is very possibly for that man to catch a baracuda

  • nice fish!!! i bet you didn't have a big enough net!

  • I'd say around 45 atleast

  • There is no way that fish could weight 52 pounds. 52 pound fish seems to be harder to handle for a man like in this video. Sorry! :(

  • not sure if I should be offended by that :-)

  • Ever heard of catch-and-release?

  • Yes, but if is going to be eaten!!

  • Not 52lbs, not even close. Peg about 30#, show me the boga grip w/ measurement and I'll believe ya but that ain't over 50# brotha

  • Your opinion brotha, Have no reason to lie and nothing to gain from it. Free world and you can voice your thoughts.

  • wow thats big cuda lol, I couldnt even catch one -.-

  • mmm hope they didnt eat it

  • That's def a cuda, but they do look different than the ones we get in south Fl...No black spots at all...Really gorgeous though and yes that is a fifty plus pound fish...Nice work..BTW, what did u get it on??? Do u guys use tube lures over there in Africa???

  • Thanks. We use Rapala magnums.

  • DUDE thats a wahoo!!

    buy a fish book!!!

  • Don't need a fish book I live in Sierra Leone, West Africa where this was caught. Wahoo are NOT found in these waters. Check your books and see what you can find or better try Google easier. Sorry

  • That cuda can easily weigh 52#...you can't compare Northern Pike mass to a cuda...they're not the same!

  • that cant be 52 lbs ive seen northern pike the same size that weighed 30

  • Can´t say about Northern Pike never caught one but this barracuda weighed in at a shade over 52lbs!!

  • no man that is a 52 pound cuda u dont know how much just the heads weigh on barracuda they are like steel they have put holes in the live well of my boat with their snouts

  • I've caught plenty of pike and cudas, and cudas weigh much more. In general any saltwerfish is heavier the a freshwater fish due to muscle mass.

  • dems be good eatins...

  • thats not a barracuda, its a wahoo!! hellouuuu

  • Na bro, thats is a barracuda. Close but Wahoos are darker in color and have wider tiger stripe markings. I don't think you'll find wahoos near West Africa also but youll find thousands of barracudas.

  • nice fish
