Not fully fledged but the foundations for it will be there. It won`t happen fast. Also If countries are prepared to give over all their Transport aircraft to the EATC ( European air transport command ), then they`d do the same for a certain amount of troops to fulfil that 60,000 rapid reaction force goal that they agreed on.

@jayc342009 everything i'm saying are things i learned several years ago and may just be rubbish. But there have hardly been any wars (that i know of) where EU has been involved and USA has not (with the exception of the falklands).
And when it comes to the wars that they've been in together, i belive that it is USA that has been coordinating the operations, and thus EU might not be very good at coordinating their actions. Seeing as they are a bunch of diffrent countries and all that.

Not fully fledged but the foundations for it will be there. It won`t happen fast. Also If countries are prepared to give over all their Transport aircraft to the EATC ( European air transport command ), then they`d do the same for a certain amount of troops to fulfil that 60,000 rapid reaction force goal that they agreed on.

Why ? because EU states will need to pool their resources together states cannot affor seperate resource ( UK/france deal ). They are already planning to share resources. Instread of each state having one of each resource, one state provides the reseource for others to share, its happening. Lookup `EU pooling millitary resources`. Without debt they would have no need to do it. This debt will lead to closer co-operation.

No, pooling the debt together only helps the smaller countries out. That's why the UK has said for years it wants out of the eu cause the other smaller countries in the eu are bringing it down. That's why the USA also has a higher GDP growth rate than all of the eu. So either way, in the future, the U.S. will be richer than all of the countries in the eu combined. I think the sad reality is the UK and some other Baltic countries will never be a part of a real EU army no endorse it. They are simply too close to the US, which prevents them from taking an active part. Its time to stop wasting time, and those countries willing must push ahead. Those members of EUROCORPS should build on their existing Eurocorps HQ/Assets and make it stronger and expand it. That is the only chance to realise a EU army. The willing must push ahead........

We just don't trust the bureaucracy that the EU currently is. UK and France make up 45% of the current EU defence budget and roughly 65% of the research and development until these figures are evened out between member states then the UK will not join a EU army. Most Brits would love to work with our fellow Europeans

Even if the EU were to put their military foreces together they would be no match for USA, Russia or China. We would likely not even rival India. Europe is weak and the EU is a paper tiger. Europes future is as a Russian puppet.
Fro example Europe has no strategic bombers, limited strategic airlift, very limited naval power ie a shortage of carriers and limited nukes! We are currently having huge cuts which will leave nations like the UK and Germany with just a couple of hundred jets each!

Yes I agree France is strong, to be honest they are so strong they could beat Germany & UK combined, IF they ever desired (which I am sure they don't).
My point though is Russia is increasing their force levels, new jets, ships, tanks and god knows what else. Europe is losing forces with budget cuts right now! If Russia attacked us we would be defeated within weeks wihout American support! Europe no longer has the stomach to fight!
