One time during an emission i hid in this small basement/sewer place

what happened was 5 fucking blood suckers ran into the same place, I had no ammo except for my practicly worthless pistol and I was dow to only half of my health, had no medkits, and had plenty of artifacts on me (but no saves after getting the artifacts)

Bassically, I almost had an "emission"

if it's gamma rays / radiation waves, hiding in wooden towers wouldn't do any good at all, since radioactive elements penetrate matter rather easily.

As soon as I finished this game... Awesome game by the way, I wanted to try out free play. So I went to Pripyat's laundromat, and was pleased to see that instead of the meager team of five soldiers from before, the laundromat was now filled with stalkers and Duty soldiers. Shortly after, an emission came. I was already inside, and as soon as it started a bunch of the stalkers LEFT THE BUILDING. The emission hit, and only two stalkers lived. Will they come back? Has anyone else seen this?

Emissions (or blowouts as some stalkers call them) are a kind of defense reaction the Zone has to stop people getting to the NPP and the secret beneath it. That's why Duty and the military take all kind of shit from the Zone, because they try to fight the Zone and it fights back.

So there you go. Emissions are sort of radioactive-psycho storms to keep people out.

The theory is that the Zone uses the blowouts as a kind of, allergic reaction to people inside the Zone, almost like it has it's own immune system.

I mean, the zone's creation came with entirely new forms of energy being created, so that shit made a rift or a hole in the 'Noosphere' around the planet.

an emission is coused by people who distrupted the sarcophgus....it (its sopose to be an entity) got angry so it stared to blow out the emission which grew in power and started occouring more often....its a blowout of power inside the sarcophagus

The game has nice graphics. Lots of side missions and big areas to explore. Very atmospheric. Lots of weapons and armor that is customizeable.
