  • Best song in the game. hands down.

  • @Xellnuu I know okami because of chugga and I know chugga because of Okami(meaning I accidentally click his okami video. No regret though)

  • Does this sound vaguely hispanic to anyone else? -_^

  • @OneDarkAutumn Really? It sounds more Russian to me.

  • at first i though "my God this place is so huge!!!" then i realized it was smaller than shinshu field after i walked in circles like 10 times XD

  • @Flamestar1313 I hate to break it to you... but one of the games main elements is comedy.

  • Man... at 2:05 I just wanna stand up and start shaking my hips to those drums!

  • You know... I don't blame chuggaaconroy at all. The guy wanted to have some fun playing a game he really liked. Let me just say this...

There was one point when people liked this because they, you know... liked it. Not because someone played it.

  • @FuzWuz Okay, but I'll say this: I would have never known about this game if it wasn't for chuggaa. It was the first LP I ever watched and I love this game for everything it is. It's beautiful, funny, and the end literally moved me to tears. I'm playing it the second I can afford to buy it. Everyone has a different story, and not -all- the new members of the Okami fanbase like it "just because chuggaa played it". That said, I'm glad he did.

  • @TheGrimmSama Its funny because you know of Okami because of Chugga and I know of Chugga because of Okami. I started watching him because he LPed this game and I'm very happy he did also. This great game deserves as many fans as it can get no matter how they find out about it.

  • @Xellnuu Same here! :D

  • @FuzWuz He intoduced people to the game just because people only played it because of chuggaa doesn't mean they don't like it Okami was genuinly terrific plus I've known this game long before the LP but it was chuggaa who pushed me and I loved every second of the game regardless of his LP. Plus got Okamiden because of him and this magnificent game.

  • @Captainskul Amen, brother.

  • when i first heard this, i was literally CRYING. :')

  • Kamui is "Divine" in japanese, thus this place being what it is, (even though it's overall history is not the most divine) it suits it suits it's name of, "Divine Northern Country"

  • @CrypticWand621 I love Kamui! its my fav, when I play in the RC area I'm like can't wait to get Kamui. For me its

Kamui, Kamiki/Shinshu Field then Ryoshima Coast

  • Title spelling mistake ftw.

  • does anybody else feels like fighting a snowstorm while hearing this?

  • for some reason I am reminded of Gerudo Valley (Legend of Zelda OOT) when I hear this

  • is this the place where u found statues of okami and issun or something? =P

  • @Silverballer45ACP Yes this place is with the Statues of Okami and Issun ^^

  • God, I leave this music especially from 2:17 to 3:20

  • @CypticWand621 Why would you leave the music from 2:17 to 3:20?

  • @pjl2413 i think he mean loves? idk lol

  • my favourite place in the game :D

  • @CanineWarriorChi I totally agree with you there! :D

  • I have a friend named Kamui.

    Im freaking serious.

  • @Uhiwaka82 Kamui means god in Ainu, I think.

  • @Uhiwaka82 Kamui is a common japanese name, and I see it on a ninja movie as a main character too, name Kamui Gaiden

  • How many songs are in the Sound Track? my friends and I are debating.

  • @ShockingRaichu I'm pretty sure its around 284 songs.

  • What I really like about Kamui,is that the Namehage are EXACTLY like that night in Japan, when people dress as Monsters and walk around into houses scaring the kids. So cool.

  • @Melkhiordarkblade What ARE namahage anyway?

  • @PhoenixWingWolf Well, the Namehage were like daemon ogres that came from China to the Northern lands of Japan. They would steal crops and kidnap women, untill one day they were tricked into leaving forever. Now in Japan, each year to celebrate, people dress as Namehage and go around villages scaring little kids into being good and hard working,(kind of how we were warned of the Boogyman). Then the parents come in with Mochi and Sake, the Namehage take it instead and leave. It's all a bit of fun.

  • @Melkhiordarkblade Thank u! I just kept on hearing namahage, and I'm thinking Wtf is a Namahage!?!? And then I see them in Okmai and think 'This is the last straw! I need 2 find it!' Thanks! :D

  • I love this song

I always run around Kamui just for the music

  • with playstation move being a 1:1 ratio i hope a new okami game is on PS3

  • @jaegerblood there wont be any sequal on ps3 ever

  • This songs got abit of a wild west thing about it

  • Okami doesn't need a sequel! It's perfect by itself. :)

  • Personally I feel that Okami shouldn't get a sequel, or a prequel for that matter. To me it feels more like a stand-alone-type of game and not a series.

  • @tubeshark yeah I agree

  • @tubeshark As much as I agree with that statement, and it's exactly what I thought for a long time... It's not going to stop me from buying Okamiden. XD It most likely won't be quite a sequel, and perhaps Okami is better off not having one, but I'm still just going to buy it anyway. Especially if they sell it with that collector's edition package like they're doing in Japan...

  • I love how it builds up in the second part of the song.

  • The first time I saw the North part of Nippon was called Kamui, it managed to make me think of the X/1999 manga by CLAMP (who's main character has the same name)!

  • I had the game but my Ps2 Broke I was so Sad T_T Now i cant play it

  • One of my personal favorite songs from Okami, though ALL the music is wonderful.

But this piece presents itself as similar to "Kushi's Ride" where you can sense urgency and boldness in the tune.

  • XD I always get lost in Kamui. I only see snow! ^-^'

  • Especially at night!

  • This theme honestly sounds more "heroic" and "dramatic" than tragic and sad to me.

  • but it does sound a LITTLE tragic, more so than the themes for Shinshuu and Ryoshima.

  • well Shinshuu and Ryoshima were both extremely bright songs, fitting for the bright environment they were played at: one's a field with a beach, and the other one's a cove with a beach, and in both the sun is shining.

Of course this one's going to sound a little more "serious" or "tragic" - it's always freakin' snowing in Kamui, and the environment is harsh.

  • I'm pretty sure this plays when you're rushing Ezo Fuji or something. Like right after the solar eclipse. I don't think this is always playing in Kamui.

  • It is

  • Yeah, this sounds heroic/tragic because it plays during the event where something heroic/tragic is about happen.

do you know which one is normally on?

  • @ShadowDaPk It's about overcoming the odds and brave danger in order to come out on top. Life is harsh, after all!

  • @ShadowDaPk It's a message about how overcoming life's harshness is possible and must be done in order to achieve success.

  • Honestly, this is like the only sad/dark theme in the whole game in terms of region OST

  • The theme for Kusa Village isn't exactly uplifting either- most people probably thought that after the Crimson Helm was defeated, we'd get the after-curse music. But I like it all the same :)

  • I see only...Snow Snow Snow and Snow here. X [

    Opp ! Snow Storm

  • DAM I WISH YOU COULD PLAY THIS ON PC!!!!!!!!!!! otherwise, i cant play it -.-

  • This place is Kamui? More like Samui- barrampum pssh :P

Aha sorry I just had to! It might not even make sense but I was listening to a podcast and one ep was dedicated to Samui or 'It's Cold!', as they translated it.

This music is tres epic- gives Ryoshma Coast a run for its money, I'd say, though I love both.

  • I love the theme from kamui and all the game. I want a second part.!!!!

  • GO OKIKURMI!!!!

  • miss clover T3T i love oki ^^

  • i love how it starts out :3

  • Maybe one day, they'll make a really cool remake of this game. They could probably do what they did with the Zelda games, you know, like having the same characters with a different story or something...

  • sounds cool ^.^ but wouldn't that kinda ruin the origionality of the origional? (Not intended offence)

  • Ya you're kinda right. Nothing could beat the original. :)

  • Damn, what a beautiful game....

Loved every second of it...sad there are no plans for a sequel :(

  • I wish they'd make another game with a similar style. Y'know, completely different plot, but similar features.

    Too bad clover's gone... =/

  • Yes, but they were reborn as Platinum Games... now they're making the amazingness that is Bayonetta...

  • Bayonetta? I don't believe i've ever heard of that before. Is it a game?

  • Yup. Platinum Games and Sega are collaborating with the maker of Devil May Cry to bring forth pure awesomeness in Blu-Ray disc form. ^_^ There's plenty of videos on here with the TGS trailer; check it out.

  • Well if Clover's back under a new name, there's finally hope of a sequel to Okami! Yay!

  • They don't own the rights though.

However if someone has to do it, get Platinum games.

Just... I hope they don't turn it into a horribly violent game with insanely dirty jokes like Madworld... I just can't stand too much of that sort of stuff.

  • Possibly... though honestly, I don't see a need for a sequel. I mean, Orochi's gone, Yami has been pwnzored (assumedly for good) and now those two are off to restore the Celestial Plain. All's right... where would a sequel really go?

...Though... maybe a semi-spinoff starring either Issun or one of his descendants? That would allow them to keep the Celestial Brush mechanic...

Anyway, Platinum is busily creating Bayonetta right now anyway, so it's definitely not for a while.

  • maybe an idea for a sequel would be the restoration of the Celestial Plain, but it would be pretty short, and Ammy would not really need to go back to Nippon, so the other characters would not be put in the game, which would be kinda sad. I agree that a sequel should not really be made in case it ruins Okami, but I still want the story to continue in some way.

  • what about the balance, since peace has shine all over nippon, where is chaos? peace cant exist without chaos

  • Hmm maybe not just a restoration of the celestial plain. Prolly the sequel would explain why the people of the moon tribe built the ark of Yamato and so on.

  • yes, and where the hell Yami & Orochi came from.

  • Although there is already a DS sequel, I dont really like the story line. The main character is Ammy's pup and Susano's son.

What I would have wanted was Ammy is working with Waka to restore the Celestial Plains, and then some evil on the Plains knocks Ammy back to Nippon, where she loses her memory of what happened, and then Issun appears and then begins to teach Ammy everything she once knew. Near the end she gets her memory back and destroys the evil.

  • hmm, actually, i wouldn't have liked it even if Ammy came back to Nippon, I mean there is so much one character can go through and struggle with.

  • So...the exact same game, but Ammy lost her powers for a different reason?

  • @iMuffinStealer I agree with you-

  • @iMuffinStealer i wanted that too that ammy is working with waka :( but this game would be good too. but its not sure is chibiterasu ammys pup. :D sry but i saw that on 1 page..

  • oh yea i heard there is a sequel! :D i want it so bad now xD although i bet okami is better

  • to be honest i'd rather have okami 2 than bayonetta

  • Apparently (I read this up on Wiki so it might be wrong) evil has come back to Nippon for some reason and when Sakuya tries to summon Ammy she gets chibiterasu: young Ammy. for all I know this could be wrong but hey... you never know...

  • Ahaha. I can totally imagine Sakuya's O_O expression when she gets Chibiterasu instead of Amaterasu.

  • @PhyreSpore i agree :) the game is only for nintendo ds. in that game u can have partners. 1 of the partners is son of susano and kushi :D

  • @TrueGamer13 New name? Nintendo owns Okami's rights now, and the third party company is Capcom. Are you suggesting that Clover merged with Capcom or something?

  • Kamui is my favourite place in Okami... I love the snow.<3

  • Will there be a sequel of this game, because this game was too good.

  • No, the company that made this game no longer exists.

It's best as a stand alone game anyhow.

  • Yeah your right, just leave it as it is.

  • @MasatoHyuga W-Wha? It doesn't exist? ;m;

  • @MasatoHyuga

Actually yes, there is in fact a sequel to this game. I also think it works better as a standalone, so i'm disappointed, but I'll play it anyway.

It's Okamiden: Chiisaki Taiyo for the Nintendo DS. Made by some other company, and i think it comes out next year or so.

  • @luekdethwish I know this, the comment is almost 2 years old.

  • @MasatoHyuga well, i heared they're now called "platnium games" (god damn my spelling sucks) and they made bayonetta and mad world :P, but before they closed down they made god hand

  • @lsfior41 I've known this information for about 2 years bud.

  • @MasatoHyuga well, I DIDN'T KNOW D:

  • @fafi900 Yes.

  • @fafi900

There is a sequel now. It's known as Okamiden, not developed by Platinum/Clover but Capcom. It was started by internal fans of the game and it ascended as a DS game.

  • beautiful. ^ ^ I luv it. :3

  • Was this place cursed? I've never played it before.

  • yes

  • k thanks.

  • no problem
