Heard this song by mistake..but absoutely love it. It's one of my all-time favourite songs.Whenever I sing the lyrics people always think I know how to speak french. Love this track..Big up
isn't Cheb Khaled the one who composed this song? by the way the first time I ever heard this song was thru africando it is a great song even tho I don't know what it says but its a great song.
@TheBaranoero1 YO VIVO EN BARRANQUILLA PORQUE MI ESPOSO ES DE ACA LLEGAMOS HACE 7 MESES Y EL NO CONOCIA ESTA CANCION,MEJOR DICHO POCO CONOCEN DEL GRUPO (AFRICANDO) Y AQUI LA SALSA ES NUMERO 1 PERO ME HE DADO CUENTA QUE LES GUSTA MAS LA SALSA ARREBATADA,YO SOY DE IBAGUE Y SOY MAS SALCERA QUE CUALQUIER BARRANQUILLERO O CALEÑO JUNTO PERO EN IBAGUE SE BAILA MAS LA SALSA QUE SE ESCUCHA EN CALI-EN EL PACIFICO Y ACA LES SUENA RARO UNA SALSITA DE ESAS.
Agreed. Definitely sad. Their usual argument to not pass on cultural background (including language) is to make their kids blend better into society. I personally believe that there has to be a way to do both (integrating while keeping that family heritage alive).
Someone wrote that a person who was not Hispanic could not get into or understand the culture. Many of us who were not born in that culture grew up with them from childhood and learned it along our own culture. My only regret is that they made such an effort to speak English that I didn't learn much Spanish. Now, those I grew up with refuse to teach their children and grandchildren the language and culture that their own parents tried so hard to keep alive in them. I feel that is lamentable.
este tema es una version muy antigua de un cantante argelino, que fue asesinado y es un verdadero idolo en argelia....esta version salsera no es nada mala, iguala al original, enhorabuena africando
Lol i keep listening to this song, in the beginning i thought these salsa songs were not cool, but once you listen a few times, its actually Very nice music, Good song, nicely made :D <3
Actually, salsa is an American invention, and is not actually a music form or a dance. Salsa is nothing but Cuban "son" renamed and given a more urbanized makeover.
As Tito Rivera sand on the album Los Heroes: "Si te hablan de la salsa, mentira, se llama el son!"
In any case, the rhythms are African, but the melodies and instruments are largely European in origin.
Lots of people care. Musicology is an important thing, and full of facts that we would do well to remember. Of course, the most important thing is to feel the music. But we need to know its history too.
Damn right!! Give someone who has talent already an extra tool or insiration and look how it flourishes. I love Africando for putting together a group of very accomplished musicians in their own right, and create pure dope. What can America compare with? (Traveling Wilburries)? excuse me I just threw up in my mouth, just a little bit.
Salsa has its roots in senegal and all of west africa...thats where the drums beats derive from. Without the drums would salsa be salsa, i dont think so. Salsa has more african roots compared to europe and all that other gibberish you're talking about.
It's a mix of salsa and Zouk

Great version! The original was by Khalid Hadj Ibrahim (otherwise known as Khalid) from Algeria.
